My acura tl doesn't rev past 3000 rpm sometimes and it will reach 5000 sometimes too. I was travelling from owerri to lagos yesterday and the tranny was misbehaving by not selecting very well, so. Wen I got to lagos I found out that the transmission fluid is dark in colour and smelly. Is there any necessary things to be done or my transmission is bad?

Please help me diagnose this my recent gearbox issue

The gear works okay but whenever I get to a bumpy/bad wobbly stretch of road and the car goes through it my gear disengages and if I depress the throttle the engine only revs until I restart the car and it all works fine again but when I hit the next patch of bad road the same issue arises again

Please what might be causing this problem? I feel it’s a component not properly put in place/loose but I don’t know where to start looking and there’s no mechanic with a scan tool around me here in Kebbi. It’s a 2004 accord i4

I need someone to point me in a direction so I can take the car to someone to help me check those areas closely. Thanks

NB. Please if someone posts a solution and you have another view be good enough to also chip in. I need help from all angles as this is making me be afraid of bad roads, speed bumps and portholes because my gear will misbehave instead of because my ball joints might give way
this happened to my acura tl yesterday from owerri to lagos but wen I got to lagos I found out that my fluid is black and smelly

My own fluid is clear and smells good so mine isn’t not an ATF induces problem.

Your own case should be simple naw, just go and replace your ATF with Honda DW-1 and also try to get a new transmission filter installed

Hi, I have a problem with my honda city 2008 model. Who is familiar with this model?

It moves and accelerates perfectly but when I try to accelerate past some speed, about gear 4 i think, it makes some humming noise when I march the gas and mever picks. If i remove my leg the noise stops. Our mechanic is saying it’s gearbox. Is it gearbox?

The vehicle is 4 cylinders and 8 plugs, also uses CVT automatic transmission. Thanks gurus

Yes it is gearbox. But CVTs don't actually have ranges so you may not know exactly where this disengagement occurs.

Good Afternoon Gurus in the house.

I changed the head gasket invent car 2 weeks back after I discovered engine oil in my radiator but no water in the engine oil as well as persistent overheating. My mechanic told me its a failing head gasket and we changed it.

The engine had been running well but my concern is that it still produces blue smoke when I'm driving. I've not really used the car since the repair and the car has done about 20miles ever since.

Should I be worried about this smoke? The mechanic said it should stop after about a week of constant driving.

My honda pilot refuses to shift from parking occasionally mostly after been parked for hours and i have to depress the brakes multiple times for it to finally disengage and shift normally.

Please what could be responsible for this? Dont want to get stuck some day when it 'might just totally refuse to move

That City CVT gear box na abiku(ogbanje), not all gear technicians know about it well. You may end up replacing engine and gear after repeated failed attempts to replace the gear.

My advice, go easy on replacing the gear, exhaust all repair options with one, two or more gear electricians, including replacing the fluid with Honda CVT fluid, you may end up not needing another gear.

Hello house, I just had my gear repaired. It wasn't moving at all. But after fixing it, I drove for about 30mins the next day before the D indicator on my dash started blinking and the car started crawling (it revs high and moves very sluggishly). Once I turn off the ignition and turn it back on, the blinking stops and the car moves properly for about a minute before it starts blinking and crawling again. The D indicator used to blink sometimes before I fixed the gear but it never affected driving or gear selection for over a year. The mechanic brought a gear "rewire" after trying everything to no avail and the "rewire" says I need to change the gear switches. Would this solve the problem? What could the problem be and what can I do? I've spent a lot fixing the gear already and I don't have much to spare anymore. How much would it cost to replace the switches if they are the problem?

Hello house, i drive a 2005 Accord V6, for the past 3 months the power steering fluid in the pot goes down after refilling, i was at the workshop this weekend and the mechanic inspected and told me that my steering rack is gone bad. He pulled back the rubber cover and felt oil. Although the fluid doesn't drip to the floor where the car is parked.
My questions are
1. Does this check confirm that my steering rack needs to be replaced?
2. If Yes, what are the options for replacement?
3. Finally the cost.

Thank you
