Congrats to Naija for the Bobsled team.

Even if they finish last, we are still proud of them plus its no joke competing with Kim Jong Un

Kenya is also sending a 19 yr old female Alpine Skier.

Lagos landmass is actually very small...
You hardly see bushes talkless of forests in most part of Lagos... Some part of the suburbs have bushes and semi forests though... Lagos is more about business and fun... grin

If u are looking for a green smart city in Nigeria, try Abuja grin
Lagos also is a green city, but no where near Abuja, the City of Aesthetics. Lagos can also be a green city if Ambode continues with the parks and gardens he is commissioning and even with the art designs

Kenyan made satellite CubeSat is to be launched into the ISS in March from the USA. This one even Ghana beat us to it but its fine. So the African Space race is on officially and the leading nations are South Africa, Nigeria, Algeria, Egypt, Ghana and now Kenya.

Great to know Naija used their satellite to find the abducted girls but it took too long ! Seriously, if satellites are that slow then they might not be very useful. But being Naija we sure do understand, it had to be that way.

As always, nature had something up its sleeves when Kenya is concerned. Our location astride the equator means that launching stuff into space is most ideal because, well, we spin faster here than anywhere else. A guy somewhere on the surface of Lagos or Benghazi is one hell of a slowpoke compared to me here in Nairobi. Am moving fast ! So, rockets launching from Kenya will have an extra thrust, kind of like a slingshot as they go up. Then ofcos (being Kenyan) means we can have geostationary sats in space so that they're always fixed in the sky above Kenya and not marauding around doing unnecessary stuff. That also means our tracking antennas on the ground dont have to rotate to track that satellite in the sky. One of the reasons why Naija took years tracking BH is because their satellite was only momentarily above Naija and in the rest of the time was just cruising above other countries instead of being loyal and tracking the terrorists angry. In some cases they could not even track it cus it was on the opposite side of Naija. It pays to be kenyan.

lf it all works out as planned, then by 2024 we should have made great strides in that sector.

Well, you know wat I mean grin

It took too long for the sat to find the girls cus it just takes too long generally for anything to be done in Naija because of many things like corruption among other small things. I'm not trying to accuse your satellite of being corrupt (tho its possible) grin I wuz just sayin its possible corruption was inbuilt in the sat so that it could not find the girls untill something small was paid grin But am just saying

The problem with Nigerian electricity is distribution n not generation.

As at Dec last year, Nigeria has an installed capacity of 11,600mw, only 7,000mw was generated while a meagre 5,000mw was distributed.

Nigeria's demand is 19,800mw, all ongoing power projects is mambilla (3050mw), akk (4300mw), azura (1500mw) and some smaller ones within d range of 230mw and 1000mw.

Now, here's d problem..... even if Nigeria is generating 10gw and does not revamp d national grid, only 5,000mw will still be distributed. We thank God govt granted autonomy for power generation to states last year, so states can generate and have an independent grid, Lagos is expected to complete 3,000mw ipp by 2022. The fed govt is also revamping d national grid as I'm typing, dangote refinery gas pipeline will have the potential to generate 12,000mw.

If the national grid is revamped and all power projects is completed, Nigeria should have more than double it's demand.

Noo bro, you cant ask that question like that. It should be the other way round, is Kenya more corrupt than Nigeria? Nigeria is traditionally the trendsetter. Even in most corruption rankings you take the gold and we take the silver.

Nah even your buzzkenya website ranks Kenya as 3rd most corrupt country in Africa in a list of the top ten(that doesn't have Nigeria). Please check again and confirm. l don't think Kenya is less corrupt than Nigeria.
