uote author=Lucious477 post=64469591]Hello all, I'm sharing this to encourage others. I started my journey by considering both Canadian and Australian Immigration but made up my mind to drop Australia movement for that of Canada due to the cost involved, also Canada PR process looked more straight forward to me. ECA I decided to use WES for my assessment because I'm an Engineering professional and WES is needed in processing future professional engineering qualifications in Canada, as well as sending transcripts to Canadian Universities in the future. Also, I took the pain to assess both my BEng and MSc degrees (both from Nigerian schools) because of the above reasons. I started processing my WES application in August 15, 2017 and my WES E-copy report got ready in Nov 30, 2017 (timeline 2.5 months). My WES hardcopy report got to my apartment- delivered by NIPOST on January 4, 2018 (used standard delivery, $7). Although, I have never used the hardcopy. IELTS Took my exam on October 14, 2017 and passed on first attempt LRWS 8.5, 8, 7.5, 7.5 (Max point for Express Entry) -My study tips I studied for two months (1 month intensive). I printed the test answer booklets for reading, listening and writing test (got them free online). Reason is because I wanted to simulate typical exam conditions and I also practiced using a stopwatch. -Listening I practiced using the Cambridge material from 2016 to the end. A week to my exam, I did two listening test everyday in order to stay sharp. To be honest, I hardly scored 8 during practice and multi choice questions were my weakness so I spent more time at these. During my exam, I followed the audio recording by moving my pencil beneath the sentences on my question sheet in order to constantly stay focused. I ensured I read all instructions carefully. -Reading I practiced using all the past questions on General training reading that I could lay my hands on. I ensured I timed myself to finish in 45mins and checked my work with 15mins. I rarely scored 8 during practice. During my exam, I finished under 50mins, checked my work with 10mins(very helpful because I discovered some mistakes, which I corrected). -Writing www.ieltsliz.com was a great companion. I adopted all her different essay and letter formats(very helpful). I wrote at least 1 essay per day (most times). I read using a digital dictionary (for looking up words). I practiced with a stopwatch and tried to finished both parts under 50mins so that I could use the 10mins left for checks. During my practice, I knew how many lines I needed to write, to achieve the required minimum number of words (since I used the IELTS answer sheet). During my test, I finished under 45mins and used 15mins for checks. -Speaking I practiced using a voice recorder, which made it possible for me to assess myself. Sometimes I practiced in front of my wife (she acted as the examiner). During my test, I had a relaxed conversation with the test official. I tried to expand my speech, such that the examiner always had to stop me. I noticed that I was more interested in learning/improving my English language skills than just passing the IELTS test. So it turned into a stronger desire for me. I also realised that passing IELTS can only be done by understanding the test (tricks, structure and rules). To understand IELTS one has to learn from tutors such as Liz and then practice what they have learnt. I spent more time and resources practicing for IELTS because I needed to overcome my weakness. I gave it my time (despite my 9-5 job) and studied as if my life depended on it. I prepared and wrote my test such that my wife (a nursing mother) won't have to write and also save the money. My CRS is 454 (lost 27 points since I'm married and my spouse didn't write IELTS or did ECA, but it didn't matter) Created my profile Dec 5, 2017 got ITA Dec 6, 2017. I'm presently on AOR stage- Jan 12, 2018. I'll give detailed update on how I packaged my application for submission on a different post. Special thanks to God for His grace, and everyone who took out time to contribute on this platform. Godspeed also to all those preparing for IELTS, waiting for ITA or expecting PPR. It will end in praise! This is quite encouraging, can't wait to share mine
This is quite encouraging, can't wait to share mine 8 Likes |

Why don't you exercise patience for you WES to to be completed, cos you will need your wes reference and date to fill out your EE profile. And you must be in the EE pool for a province to nominate you. so patience bro!!! SV frostfr89: |

Opotuniti:Do you have a call card for the promoted role ? Do you have any emails with your promoted role signature ? Ordinarily I think if the HR has written on their letter head the breakdown of roles like you said they did I wouldnt worry much, other people too could weigh in on this. If it is not a grade level promotion and it is just a job role change then it is mostly informal and doesnt always come with an official notification. Other people can weigh in like i said, I'd be interested in knowing too. |

I sent my HND and BSC to IQAS for evaluation. I just received my evaluation and noticed that only the BSC was evaluated. Will I receive another separate evaluation for the HND? I thought the two certificates (BSC and HND) will be evaluated together? Is something wrong somewhere? |

Do you have email communication from the US embassy about not being able to expedite? If you do, raise another CSE and send to them. Profusely apologise for not noticing it had expired. In the extreme, buy a ticket to the US, walk into a passport office and have it done same day. Scan it to them and stay back to enjoy some holiday. Thinking they will allow their citizen to enter without a valid passport but will they even allow him travel from here? I think we are left with only the first option! Heliunion: 2 Likes |

Good morning, I logged in just to respond to you. I usually just read during weekends and evenings. I need you to answer three questions: 1. Was the biodata page missing or they missed it? 2. What was in the LOE you did? 3. Under 'review of additional documents', did the status change to 'additional documents you provided are being reviewed" Ronnie1984: |

Thanks alot I appreciate. Good day, IQAS application fees is 275 Canadian dollars(as at last time I checked their website it was there). Cost Application fee (regardless of the number of credentials): $200 Courier fees: to an address in Canada: $15 to an address outside of Canada: $75 Fees apply to each applicant; spouses cannot submit their credentials under one application. Yes you can use hellofax (and myfax) to send your certificate with photocopy of your international passport bio data page and marriage certificate(if married as evidence for change of surname) and evidence of IQAS application payment. Check hellofax.com for details on how. My wife used myfax.com to send her certificate to IQAS through +1(980) 422 9734. She got an acknowledgement mail that the fax has been sent to IQAS which was also confirmed by IQAS. Please also note that you have to www.ilovepdf.com to compress your document to the required size if there is need for you to do so.

happytbaby:Thank you for taking time out to respond @happtbaby. It is stated somewhere on their website. I will raise another CSE. Someone advised that if I haven’t heard back from them before the deadline. I should populate the columns given for details of the us passport with his valid Nigerian passport and attach the slip given for the renewal and a letter explaining the situation so as not to leave it open ended by the deadline given. Do you think this would be frowned upon? |

Did you submit his Nigerian passport before? If you did not, please do that asap. Some people actually leave out the US passport details but once you submit a US birth certificate, they know that the child is American , so they will not stamp a visa on the Nigerian passport after PPR, they will only issue a COPR (confirmation of permanent residency). You should be good to go with a Nigerian Passport. With LOE if why you cannot provide a US passport yet. Heliunion: |

Good people, good morning to you All. Please I have two questions. 1) Can Pharmacology be evaluated as a professional qualification just to earn more points. Though, we have already sent certificates to iqas but transcript is yet to be sent. 2) I calculated my crs score nd I had 438. For those that have created EE profiles, pls is the score likely to increase by the time ECA number is inputted. I mean on the main site or d 438 already takes cognizance of ECA. Thank you Fam. |
