Chino and Fikayo met in 2012 and tied the knot last weekend at the Beachfront, Landmark Centre, Lagos. They did both the Yoruba traditional wedding and Igbo traditional wedding all in one day. The Yoruba-Igbo wedding is the highest inter-tribal wedding in Nigeria and it’s getting more rampant in recent years.
The emboldened is incorrect. The only reason why it would seem so is because those Igbo-Yoruba weddings tend to be in the spotlight. There are probably a lot of Igbo-Ibibio, Igbo-Ijaw, Yoruba-Edo etc that don't get reported as much.

HML to the couple.

KimCutie, this is a typical example of intellectual laziness among Nigerian bloggers I was referring to.

The name 'Fikayo' is not a Yoruba name, and the pictures confirmed it. The lady is either Urhobo or Isoko, not Yoruba. A simple Google search would have confirmed it instead of rushing to post falsehood.

Mediocrity angry
But she could still have a Yoruba Father. How else does one explain the fact that they adorned a Yoruba attire and the groom and his people can be seen prostrating like we see in typical Yoruba traditional marriage ceremonies.

Igbo-Ijaw is not scarce as if you go to the lower and middle class, you will find a lot of them. It's because there's usually no fanfare in those marriages, that's why you think they are scarce.

If you even take a good look at Yoruba-Igbo marriages, it's mostly the higher class from these ethnic groups or atleast one of them. Yes, there are many Yoruba=Igbo marriages and they are ever increasing but i don't think they're the most popular of inter tribal marriages.

I'm surprised that you made this comment. I want to believe that you are not Yoruba. 'Fikayo' means 'add to wealth' something like Oluwafikayo (meaning Lord has added to our wealth'.

I don't think you are okay at all, How can you say Fikayo is not a Yoruba name? I doubt if you are well.

Fikayo an Isoko/Urhobo name? You have gone completely mad.

Can't you see where they were dressed in Yoruba attire.

You are just happy when Nigerian bloggers flop and you want to discredit them.

Instead of you, yourself to do a google search, but if you are too lazy, I will do it for you.

This one is a full blooded yoruba boy....
Oluwafikayomi Oluwadamilola "Fikayo" Tomori (born 19 December 1997) is a professional footballer who plays as a defender for Championship club Hull City, on loan from Premier League club Chelsea.

Another one
Fikayo Ogundipe, the CEO of Tolet.com.ng

Please respect a blogger dear, its not easy being one.
