chidinmacynthia: Hello. I understand your fears perfectly well cos I've been in that shoe. it wasn't even in 100L. It was 2016. I was in 400L, biochemistry and I took jamb form that year only for me to have it on a date I was to have a departmental paper too. I couldn't get the jamb center in my school. I was posted to OAU to write my exam.(2hrs from my school). I took the risk, didn't spend much tym on the UTME but I answered all my questions, but I missed my exam before I could return back to school. so I had to do d course again in 500L together with my normal courses. I didn't gain admission in that 2016 tho. Bro, I believe its part of the sacrifices you have to make to get hold of our dream. Its a risk worth taking. if it clashes with your exam, do your best if you can appeal for modification on the timetable (That might not be easy tho cos you're in 100L and u should be doing borrowed courses for now). and who knows... it might not clash. its better you don't regret your inaction by then. In conclusion : my advice- Take jamb form now. when your date is released and it clashes with your exam, you can take a more concrete decision by then. If it doesn't, then you can proceed 3 Likes |

Uniabuja medical students, pls does uniabuja accepts degree holders into MBBS via DE? I graduated with a 2.1(4.32) in Zoology. Am about to pick DE form and am weighing my options. Don't want to waste this year. And again do they double sitting for MBBS? Fast response will be appreciated! |

Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by sk2p(m): 2:00am On Jan 29, 2018 |
luqmandwise: As in 1 of each. 1bsc + 1diploma+1ijmb+1jupeb..... Note it's still not concrete info.... But having 2.1is competitive enough But A level gives you upper hand has ur point ranges from 1 to 16 unlike degrees /diploma 2.2 _ 9pts 2.1 _ 12pts 1st class _ 15pts But with A level u can get 13, 14, 15 and even 16pts |

luqmandwise: Dey do but using 1 sitting gives u upper chances. Remember many are coming with 1st class, 2.1, 16pts Ijmb and jupeb. Oga don't take chances and remember uniabuja don't do catchment it's strictly by best performance and aggregates Please sir Tonye001 plz add me on wattsapp. So we can chat please. I want to go for mbbs in Imo state but People keep telling me that studying Medicine and surgery in Imo state University (IMSU) is a waste of time. I want to know why and what are the alternatives. Please docs I need immediate response so as to help me in my field of study. |
Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by Bobola07(m): 10:17pm On Jan 29, 2018 |
Edddie: i've not been to IMSU before but i can just give a little overview; based on the limits of my knowledge as to why you were told so. Some state universities are not well funded enough to cater for the expenses of running a medical school and teaching hospital. also, due to unstable govt policies and strike here and there, one cannot predict how the journey will be like. i'm not saying federal universities do not go on strike action. they also have their share of the negligence in funding. its just that you have a slightly better avenue to study medicine; when it comes to facilities, lecturers and calendars, if u are at a federal university. you can check out UNIZIK, UNN, FUNAI 1 Like |

Edddie: IMSUTH Orlu in Imo state is fully very functional, has many professors, and has trained doctors who are outstanding in their employment posts. Dont mind those discouraging you; they are highly likely to be the same most parochial Owerri indigenes who don't like any government project in Imo located outside the state capital, Owerri. They want everything at their door mouths in Owerri. They are used to cheap money from renting houses at exorbitant rates to students, as all five tertiary academic institutions in Imo state are in, or nearest Owerri, so they petition every Imo state governor to also relocate the Imo State University Teaching hospital from Orlu, the state's second most populated city, to Owerri. They cite most stupid excuses, ranging from: 'teaching hospital is supposed to be at the state capital, 'state government cannot sustain a teaching hospital outside the state capital', 'people in Orlu do not go to the teaching hospital when they are sick', and all sorts of negative things they say against IMSUTH, so that an unsuspecting state governor can relocate IMSUTH Orlu to Owerri. 5 Likes 1 Share |
