Certitude:Their achievements have nothing to do with my comment but i remember Wilson Oruma had it so good in French league, same thing James Obiorah with Anderlecht and later locomotives moscow and Emma Ebiede in Dutch league,Duke Udi too in Switzerland, and Doodo Avaa in Turkish league. We cannot have these types of players in this era and be searching for Mikel's deputy, that's my point. Wilson Oruma was able to deputise for Okocha during Atlanta 96 and France 98 and James Obiorah at 2002 WC.I remember Duke Udi and Emma Ebiede step in for Okocha during Atlanta qualifying series and they did not disappoint. 3 Likes |

somehow: The point is that any striker can have a bad patch. Suarez had his and so did Ronaldo. Age has nothing to do with it because it is expected that Suarez is at the prime of career right now. Okpotu has over 70 career goals in Nigeria alone, the man is a proven striker who happens to be going through a rough patch at the moment. Nigerian football fans should learn to cheer their players especially when they are down because that is when they most need it. There is a difference between a bad decision and an error, if my player is trying his best but just happens to mess up then I have no right to get angry. This is the fundamental reason I like La liga over the premier league. 1 Like |

Kog45: Whatever happened to James Obiora. I recall how he twisted Roberto Carlos's blood in a Champions league game back in 02. He came into the game with his side down 3:1, he scored to bring the score to 3:2, hit the bar thereafter. Was on his way to tie the game after dusting Roberto Carlos the second time, when the refree abruptly blew the final whistle, while he was about to pull the trigger. At that point, I realised ojoro dey European football. 3 Likes |

safarigirl: their problem is at the back. They have collected the second most goals in Europe's top 5. But it could be a good adventure for him because their brand of football is good on the eyes and they are not a club that will do gra gra if a player gets a good offer. |

Sunday Faleye out of 2018 CHAN, elbow injury sidelines him for 4 weeks By admin - January 29, 2018 Sunday Faleye has told SCORENigeria he will play no more part in the 2018 CHAN in Morocco after he dislocated his elbow against Angola and has been ruled out of action for 4 weeks. Faleye landed badly on his hand and was later forced out of the CHAN quarterfinal against Angola in the 59th minute yesterday in Tangier. “I have been ruled out of the rest of the tournament because of my injury,” he told SCORENigeria “The doctor said I will be out for a month.” The 19-year-old winger started the Eagles first four matches and was the match winner against Libya in a crucial group game. Doctors to decide on Kalu Orji ahead Wednesday’s CHAN S/Final vs Sudan By admin - January 29, 2018, 2:37 pm Doctors will confirm later today whether the rib injury of CHAN Eagles defender Kalu Orji could rule him out of Wednesday’s semi-final against Sudan in Marrekesh, SCORENigeria has been told. “The doctors will confirm whether Orji will be available for selection for Wednesday’s semi-final against Sudan later today,” an official informed SCORENigeria Enugu Rangers central defender Orji was forced out of last night’s CHAN quarterfinal against Angola as early as the 10th minute on account of a rib injury which affects his knee and this adversely affected the Eagles defence. Orji himself told SCORENigeria he nursed the injury in the previous game against Equatorial Guinea but the cold in Tangier aggravated it on Sunday. The Eagles will already be without Sunday Faleye, who dislocated his elbow against Angola and has been ruled out for the reminder of the tournament in Morocco. Nigeria's CHAN side have the Super Eagles spirit, says Gernot Rohr Ed Dove, KweséESPN Gernot Rohr has praised Nigeria's character after their 2-1 African Nations Championship quarter-final victory over Angola on Sunday. The home-based Eagles were up against it after falling behind to Va's 56th-minute opener in Tanger, but rallied to turn the tie around following Anthony Okpotu's stoppage-time equaliser and an extra-time winner from substitute Gabriel Okechukwu. The comeback prompted Rohr to commend the team's spirit after the match, with the German coach suggesting that he saw the same character as his senior side boast. "It was a game we deserved to win because we were the better team," Rohr told KweséESPN. "When you concede, you're chasing [an equaliser] for so long, and you score only in the 92nd minute, it means that the players never give up. "We have the same spirit in the Super Eagles A team, and I'm happy about that," he added. "We're made of the same stuff as well." Sunday's showdown in Tanger wasn't the first time that Nigeria have had to bounce back in the face of adversity this campaign, with Salisu Yusuf's team also responding strongly to win 3-1 against Equatorial Guinea after conceding first. 'We have continuity in our work and they did very well," Rohr continued. "It was a difficult game because we had to chase after this goal. "They are a team who never give up, and who push on until the end. There's a good technical and physical level too - because in extra time they had to go and get the win on a pitch that was becoming heavy. "In two hours of playing, in their fourth match in such a short space of time, it wasn't easy, but they negotiated extra time well," the German coach noted. "The two goals were beautiful." For long swathes of the contest, it didn't look like the game would go Nigeria's way, as the Eagles toiled for an equaliser and missed a litany of chances. Before his equaliser, Okpotu was culpable of missing a series of chances, and perhaps should have netted in the opening seconds of the match before being brought down by Angola stopper Landu. "There was a penalty for us at the very beginning of the match," said Rohr, "but the referee didn't give it. "Nigeria started well, but they then encountered a difficult period and Angola took advantage to score a rather lucky goal. "Afterwards, we deserved to come back into the game, even if it was in stoppage time." Nigeria's triumph sets up a semi-final meeting with Sudan in Marrakech as the Eagles keep alive their hopes of bettering their best CHAN finish - third in 2014. http://kwese.espn.com/football/nigeria/story/3364590/nigerias-chan-side-have-the-super-eagles-spiritsays-gernot-rohr 1 Like |

Malaga have dropped their interest in #WatfordFC forward Isaac Success. Watford's Isaac Success not going to Malaga, sources reveal, with forward likely to remain at Vicarage Road Isaac Success is not going to Malaga, despite reports of interest from the Spanish club, and is unlikely to leave Watford at all during the transfer window. The Watford Observer understands the Hornets want to give Javi Gracia a chance to run the rule over the Nigerian international, and their lack of options in wide areas even with their interest in Barcelona's Gerard Deulofeu means he has extra value to the squad. Success has been out of action with a leg injury since September, a month after he made his one and only appearance of the season against Bristol City in the Carabao Cup. He was an unused substitute for Watford's FA Cup exit at Southampton on Saturday, but that was his first appearance in the squad since the 2-1 defeat at Crystal Palace more than a month ago. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/15905227.Sources_shoot_down_Success_rumours/ |

goldfish80:O boy you just brought back part of my childhood memories with that song. And you are right about the song not being played after we lost. I think it was released to celebrate our victory at the 1980 AFCON. The song was played severely in the last game of our 1982 WC qualifiers against Algeria. But after Algeria knack us the akpako we no hear the song again. |
