How would he do this and how would he know the phone was not stolen?

So as a technician now, before you do any job, you must request for receipt. Many customer will not come to your shop for being strict.

How many people know where the receipts of thier phones are. What rubbish.

Even me indontbhave receipt for my laptop. And nobody can collect it from me.

Ole people.

If u don't know where the receipt is, you must know the password. Forgetting both means it is a stolen phone and I won't tourch it even with a pole.

That is not fixing, that removing the security aspect of the phone. If I walked into a mech ship and ask that the security feature of the car I brought be disabled, they have the right to ask me to show proof I own the car whose security feature I wanna disable and they equally have the right to reject it. If you are a panel beater and you helped someone to break into a car and it is later discovered that the person you helped to break into the car is not the car's owner but a thief, don't the police have right to arrest you ? You are a fucking accomplice.

l despise police

Is there a law against repairing or unlocking phones and other electronics without showing receipt?!
The police can only invite the repairer to the station to help with investigations, not an outright arrest.
I wonder what they teach these police officers at the Police Academy.

when you do your own due diligence, it will take an average lawyer to get you discharged of charges

Either forged or not, it shows he did his due diligence and was sensitive to being used as an avenue for crime

Here I naija we take everything for granted, why would you do that in the first place. FBI wanted to have access to a dead person iPhone and it became a serious issue in the US.

Because it's easy to unlock phones, without consequences that's why stolen phones are available anywhere. This may serve as a warning. Hope he and others in the business of unlocking phones learned from this.

You post is over hyped, who told you unlocking a phone is bridging security of the phone? changing the IME would be but unlocking a phone so that it could be used in all network is not taking off the security fitures. If the phone was screen locked and the technician did not ask questions B4 flashing it then he is in for deep soup if found out to be stollen phone!

phone repairers play a big part in the stolen phone business.

there is no way they cannot be aware that some of the phones they are working on are dodgy.

you have a customer who brings in four or five strange phones everyday for unlocking/flashing, and you think are legit?

people are injured, murdered, kidnapped, raped when these phones are collected.

i have 0 sympathy for the technicians or anyone who buys the phones.

they are simply part of the robbery supply chain.
