Nigerians are not really suffering. Look around you Someone is buying cars building houses. The streets are relatively safe. There is no problem at all. 1 Like 1 Share |

TourismMan: Being unemployed or underemployed is enough for one to commit suicide in a country like Nigeria where cost of living is high and a lot is being expected of you as a young graduate. Though I was unemployed for only about 2months after NYSC but was underemployed for a period of 14months. And I will say every single day that passed was always a sad one for me. I bless God for my liberation. I have a good number of cousins that were not as fortunate as I was with the labour market (as I even had to make choices when the big jobs finally came). Some were unemployed for 3-5. Some have ever since been underemployed. Some have even recently lost their jobs. It is a terrible situation my brother. But my advice to you as you are still in school is YOUR CASE CAN BE DIFFERENT. Don't carry that "There are no jobs" mentality into the labour market. It can really be demoralizing and it can make you easily join the band wagon. I chosed to study engineering at a period when there were no jobs for Engineering graduates in the country. But when I came out of school I saw things differently and I hit the ground running. It is well with you. 17 Likes 2 Shares |
