It is done.... Dortmund confirmed it today. Aubameyang is an arsenal man... He is a gunner... Chief Icon4s, Sir Tbaba1234, Sir Edi287, and other Arsenal faithfuls... Congrats. smiley
I guess you need more than a Mhkitaryan after all especially after the Swansea experience... wink

Welcome your Auba! The batman... Now Africa's most expensive player of all time (within Europe alone) even trumping the incoming Navy Keita to Liverpool move later in the summer.
Overall, he is now second to Cedric Bakambu to went to China for £65 million (including tax). Auba's is £56million.

Even Madam Dominique na Arsenal faithful too. wink

You Sir are not far off... I think you heard just right... wink

Ulloa to Brighton (loan)

Slimani to Newcastle (Loan)... Recall Newcastle wanted Nacho but it seems Puel is more willing to part with Slimani than Nacho... Hmmmm...

Well, I think Nacho will see some more game time this season then... It is now just Nacho, Vardy and Okazaki...

If Mahrez's move to Man City materialises too, then it would be just Gray, Albrighton and Diabate from the wings... Especially now that Musa returned to CSKA Moscow.

Interesting deadline day transfer activities... I think Puel meant it after all when he said he needs Nacho and also recently commended his hardworking and positive attitude in training even mentioning how much Nacho pushes himself and demands more of himself. But we still dey observe....

Great news, now Iheanacho should work harder and be more productive so as to cement his place permanently in the team. I really need him to make the fans feel the same way the invitees at the wedding Jesus did his first miracle felt when they were served the better wine.

To Echiejile's fans, ur boy has finally landed in the league that suits his talent, I wish him all the best in this new challenge but he should stop dreaming of Russia with the Eagles because there is no how a player in the Belgian Second Division (Cercle Brugge), a washed up player for that, will be considered for a place in our 23man squad. What??!! I think only the Elders will explain how experience will ensure Echiejile makes it into the 23-man squad... Idowu and Aina can provide fine cover on that left... Mehn.. Maybe by giving him a call up as a training material grin before the team gets pruned down to 23 grin

To me, choosing Echiejile because of his exploits in the past, will amount to sacrificing quality and talent (Idowu , Aina /Ebuehi) in the altar of mediocrity (Echiejile). Dude has lost it long ago.

My man did we went to 2014 WC with Echiejele? No due to injury and did we missed him?No cos Oshaniwa was able to do what Echiejele would have done, even Oshaniwa had above average at WC.

I don't think we need experience Echiejele in the WC but in form Echiejele,if he cannot raise his game then he should forget it,good we have Ebuhei, Aina and Idowu who are versatile fullbacks not only in LB.

Well, the difference is that over here, the folks who don't have the prerequisite qualifications still put in the hard work. I had sources in camp during the 2014 World Cup preparations and based on what I was told, the whole training camp was a joke. The entire preparation was below the level you'd get in a high school soccer camp here. No wonder the team visibly lacked fitness.

An average Nigerian coach (a la Keshi - RIP) likes to reap where he did not sow.

O pari

komekn:

That's not unique to Nigeria.

I know assistant first team coaches who have zero qualifications beyond the manager is my friend.

Furthermore some of them are close to being illiterate.

Well, unfortunately, these games are not being televised here so I haven't watched him play. However, I do not doubt his talent. Most Nigerian players are naturally talented but, until they go to Europe, they would still lack the basic fundamentals of the game. My hope is that these new soccer academies that are springing up all over Nigeria would help improve the situation.

Anyway, my point is that aside from Ezenwa, I don't see Rohr taking any home-based player to Russia. Most of them are still too green and raw for the battle ahead.

i am not saying he is in the same category with those you mentioned , what i have only pointed out are just his attributes , if you have not been paying attention to it , you have an opportunity in tomorrow's match and if he undergoes some special grooming he may become the kind of player we will need in he future . nearest future is the world , and mind you its just a prediction ....

Awesome. Now, I can watch him Bein Sports. I think it's a better move for Etebo anyway. At Las Palmas, he may not have Champions Cup opportunity as he might have in Genk but still La Liga is a much higher quality league than the Belgium league.

The most watched leagu and not the most competitive.

The most competitive league is a league where everyone is 50% sure of winning at the end of the season. Is the EPL such a league?

komekn:

I don't prefer.

I talk about players I have seen train, watched develop progress and even decline. Players that I speak to thier coaches about and watch live and even speak bto directly.

When I do comparison to some players I fund them to be as competitive or even possibly better than some players selected to the SE.

I feel every player should be selected on merit and that merit shouldn't be speculative but from current confirmed outstanding performance on the field of play in your parent club. Not on past glories.

I do feel that some leagues are more competitive than others. And I have no apologies for saying the EPL is the most competitive league in the World. I didnt say best or mist technically superior. But the most COMPETITIVE .

I am not a football agent I admit to being associated.

I mentioned players who played in the local league in Nigeria that I have had a preference for. But my area of associated involvement is England and so I have in depth experiential knowledge. I would not call that bias.

Aubameyang is a great player but are they going to play only with strikers and AMs? Ozil, Auba, Laca, Giroud (if he doesn't leave), Mikhi, Iwobi, Welbeck, Ramsey, Wilshere, Xhaka etc. All great players but where are the CMs and the DMs? What about a couple of solid CBs? To me, the team as currently constituted is very unbalanced.

And in addition, what was the board thinking when they broke the bank just to resign a 29 year old Mesut Ozil? At 29 years old, they should've let him go. No top club would pay that amount for him.

There are 6 top clubs in the EPL that are putting in tough competition for the league.

You can't say so for the other 5 leagues in Europe. it's either you have a 1-team league or at most a 2-team league.

I don't understand why you're using others to excuse him. Those you listed, apart from Kane who was HGS in 2016, Morata wasn't, so no need for the comparison.

Now to Kane, how many chances was created by England, how many did Kane attempt and how many did he score/miss?

Back to Okpotu, we created more than 10 goal scoring chances in the first match, I believe you know how many Okpotu wasted.

Same with second game.

I don't like giving excuses for players especially when they have been given enough time to make amends.

Concentrate on your player and stop using " shebi ola dey steal na, so obi fit steal too" analogy here.
BascoVanVeli:

Actually Kane was the HGS that season but that was not my point. I named Luis Suarez but u said he was way older and then I proceeded to giving u Kane and Morata who I think are good young strikers who have had rough patches before. This your HGS talk is really scandalous, u mean Morata who costs more than the NPFL combined with the PSL, would have to win the golden boot before I use him in an analogy with Tony Okpotu?

Edit:

The EPL is not the most competitive league in the world. Competitive means a league where people with almost equal strength play with no clear cut person or persons as overall winner.

In the top 5 leagues in Europe, we have at least 1-5 clubs with almost equal strengths when it comes to winning the league.

I believe you now understand why I know it can't be the most competitive in the world.

If a league of 20 clubs have just 6 clubs competing season in and out, then it's not a competitive league, it becomes competitive if it's made up of only 6 clubs sir.

We have leagues in Africa, South America, some parts of Europe that are VERY competitive with no clear cut winner season by season. Meaning almost all clubs in such league can win.

Get it straight, u don't like making excuses for Anthony Okpotu because in our small conversation u have already made excuses for Luis Suarez, Harry Kane and Alvaro Morata. IMO the player has made amends because we are still in the competition, even if he scored 20 goals by now we would still at best be in the semifinals. I already acknowledged that he was poor so no need to play to the gallery.

U keep talking about HGS but who that hep? I am telling u Morata who cost more than all West African leagues combined missed chance after chance and u are asking if he was a top scorer? if they sell Opkotu today will he even cost as much as Morata's weekly pay?

I didn't make excuses for Suarez, it's strange that you skipped 23 years old strikers we have everywhere in the world doing wonders who are age mates of Okpotu but went ahead to use suarez as an example.

Morata is not Spain's point man since you still think we should compare, so let's use country for country.

Another reason why I see your comparison as misguided is that Morata isn't the first choice for Spain.

HGS is why Okpotu is in morroco, do you think if it didn't help him, he would have been picked? So sir being HGS in the NPFL took him to CHAN.

Finito.
