I quite agree with you. I believe the 30k issue has to do with insurance and she has no idea of self pay discount. It is also true that Tanzanians dont travel much. Not sure they know about US childbirth. So, VO may just have been unnecessarily tough. Another thing is coming to Nigeria to apply. How do I do about my sponsor because am not working now? sugah: |

Nwebele: If they ask you, tell them you already scheduled a visit for a family function so u decided to do it at same time. Your husband can still be your sponsor just take his statement... I was living outside nigeria but I always flew back to nigeria to apply for visas without my husband and he was always my sponsor. Secondly when asked why I came back to apply, I always tell them I am home for vacation and decided to do it. What exactly did u tell them at point of entry? Giving details will help others help. Coming back to try from nigeria may or may not work but it might be worth the risk, if u really want to travel. 1 Like |

Had baby in June 13 I would have left early cos i got my baby documentation at Dallas fast enough but paediatrician advised to stay for one last baby appointment. Cant remember if it was hearing test. Brownshoogah: |

If it's for enquiry on cost of birthing you will be referred to go look for a doctor first. There is a website for that linked to the hospital page. I can't put that here as it will be deleted by the moderator. Tadal7: 1 Like |

ladeonas: My thoughts too and that is the reason I asked specifically about single mums. Glad I can do this without putting DH through the trip to abuja or lagos. If he gets the chance then great for us if he doesn't well I will simply not put his name down. |

Nwebele:I guess this is same VO my friend met in Tanzania. She kept saying 30k kiniko. They are not so used to pregnancy/giving birth story like in Nigeria. Maybe you can come back and reapply. My friend applied twice and was denied 1 Like |

@Nwebele ma, "Have you ever sought to obtain or assist others to obtain a visa, entry into the United States, or any other United States immigration benefit by fraud or willful misrepresentation or other unlawful means?" @The bolded makes that part of the form concern you in my opinion. A key question remains, your overstay, was it done on approval or you just overstayed? Well, I think three years or so after the overstay ought to have softened that part. It's when you do above 365 days that earns you 10 years ban at the least.... I'm with the team that think you might still have a chance doing your interview in Nigeria, but it seems you are fast approaching your EDD, give it a try if you can push. Don't be too hard on yourself too, may it be well with you on this quest! 3 Likes |

That is if you told the hospital registry at the point of registration that you were not married. They will ask about your marital status when you're about to be registered at the hospital ladeonas: |

ozymes: Correct! However, the woman can still choose not to add the father's name to her child's birth certificate. There has been instances where the new born child didn't belong to the man the woman is presently married too. |

AroOkigbo: Lagos to Ibadan 40 minutes.. only a F1 car can make that trip. 40 minutes is not too bad if thats what you have. Remember traffic and others is part of this 40 minutes so not bad. |
