TheGoodJoe: let me ask you, have you forgotten Vanzekin? He was a great Gk too at the Olympics in 2008. So let us look at the 2010 world cup for example, ofcourse we need two sound, reliable GKs leaving only one room for a rookie. Dami Paul also wasn't bad at the 2009 U17 so you have three promising GKs will you take all three of them? There are some situations that are just not favourable, blaming Nigeria for not developing Ajiboye is not true 1 Like |

Mickael2: By the way, I doubt Vanzekin showed close to the kind of promise Ajiboye showed in the U17. Keep in mind the three penalties Ajiboye saved in the finals. If we want to talk of real genius talent, we should talk of Akpan Bassey. At the end, we need to handhold our exceptional talents than leave it to chance in the European clubs. #TeamKNwakali 4 Likes 1 Share |

My only desire now is to see Ajiboye on the plane to Russia as our number 1. But bypassing that incompetent Alloy Agu will be a big problem I have always known Ajiboye to be very good but I needed to see him again in this match in order to conclude. Rohr should go with him to the world Cup 6 Likes |

TheGoodJoe: the reference point here is the 2010 WC, so that means we need to consider his exploits in the U23 not U17 and Vanzekin was a class apart in that tourney. See in the GK department, special talents come up every year and the national team alone cannot groom all of them. Was De Gea groomed by the Spanish national team? Neur? MaTStegen? The goalkeeping department is groomed by the clubsides, all the Gks of the top footballing countries were groomed there and if you ask me Ajiboye has been groomed well by the NPFL, the only issue is that our coaches are not up to the required standard 1 Like |

Thus far, the three goal keepers for the WC should be Uzoho, Ajiboye, and Ezenwa. I'll include Alampasu in the 30-man prelim list too. 3 Likes |

Actually they were.... Ezenwa was marvellous against Angola. But you see... One point must be made. I have always rated Ajiboye ahead of Ezenwa personally. I just haven't seen the need to engage in the Goalkeepers talk much. From the 2007 U-17 WC to the 2009 U-20 AYC, Ajiboye has always been in my heart. What Ajiboye showed today in just his first CHAN GAME at such a crucial stage was simply World class and just a reminder of the abilities that I knew he already possessed. That guy has real class between the sticks. You needed to see how relaxed I was when I remembered that Ajiboye was on the bench when Ezenwa was being treated for his injury. I was just smiling because I knew that if Ajiboye comes in, Sudan no go score again. Looollll Yes! I was that confident because like you said, you just know a good player when you see him. He doesn't need many games. So uhmmm... Consider my meme a joke. I was only telling you Ezenwa's mind as regards your comment... Looolll... Nothing serious to it... Hahahahahahahahaha... E go shock people when Alampasu is given a chance to man the posts for just one game and he also produces magic... Then talks will be on who to drop between Ezenwa and Ajiboye... because Uzoho and Alampasu will become untouchables... Someone should just ask Rohr on Ebuehi... Lolll PDPGuy: 7 Likes |

Alampasu too dey picture oooo.... And this Ajiboye performance is a real marker. He and Ezenwa are practically same height sef.... Alampasu and Uzoho are the real giants in the GK position for the team now. They are tall and are also technically gifted between the sticks. Funny thing is both have cat-like reflexes too like Ajiboye and Ezenwa but all on varying levels. forgiveness: 2 Likes |

I have said it on this thread that Ezenwa isn't the best in the league nor is he better than the other 2 on the bench, now we can all see what Ajiboye did. May God bless Yemi Tela and may he continue resting in peace. Ajiboye showed Bojan pepper.. the Spanish youth team hated him because he denied them series of goals! Kog45: 4 Likes |

OwnGoal Nigeria Home Nigeria NigeriaTop Headlines CHAN Eagles Player Ratings Against Sudan – Ajiboye Make Case For World Cup Spot, Okechukwu Gabriel Dazzles January 31, 201805 Nigeria progressed to the final of the African Nations Championship after beating Sudan 1-0 in the second semi final of the championship. the game which was settled by a strike from Akwa United forward Gabriel Okechukwu saw both team reduced to two men following red cards issued out by the centre referee. Owngoalnigeria.com Osas Mahawi rates the players on display for Nigeria in the hard earned 1-0 win. Ratings : Ikechukwu Ezenwa – Went out injured early into the game after a brave decision to come out of his line to rescue a goal situation in the Nigerian box. Nigerians would be praying the injury isn’t severe enough for him to miss the World Cup later in the year, as he has been outstanding all through the tournament….. 5/10 Osas Okoro – He was his usual self, full of running down the flanks, whipped in quality balls and almost killed the game off with a well struck free kick from the foul on Dare Ojo that saw Sudan reduced to ten men, he however put Nigeria on the back foot severally when he lost balls in key areas of the pitch which almost profited Sudan ….. 6/10 Ikouwem Udoh – Had a far less impressive game as opposed to the game against Angola. Didn’t get enough support from Austin Oladapo who played ahead of him, which means he couldn’t go forward as he would have loved to, but still put in a good shift….. 7/10 Stephen Eze – Wasn’t his usual self. Started the game very well but failed to dominate the box like he has done in previous games. Had his partner Kalu Orji to thank for jobs he usually accomplish with ease….. 6/10 DONT MISS ==> NIGERIAN TO REPLACE OLABIYI AT HOUSTON DYNAMO Kalu Orji – Did looked shaky at the start of the game but he was big, when the team needed him to be big in order to protect their lead. Controlled the defence when Sudan intensified their search for a leveller, but need to sort out why so many balls into the box of Nigeria were not dealt with either by him or his partner in defence Eze….. 7/10 Ifeanyi Ifeanyi – Once again failed to live up to the hype that surrounded his selection in the team. Got himself sent off for two bookable offence. The way he got the second yellow card was very poor considering how high he is rated….. 4/10 Austin Oladapo – Didn’t do enough defensively but was quite decent on the ball. Picked his men out with well hit passes. However he looked lost playing as a winger rather than his preferred role as a central midfielder….. 6/10 Dayo Ojo – His energy level is no doubt a plus for this team, but he however didn’t get involved in proceedings as may would have expected, particularly when Sudan had the numerical advantage . His late surging run lead to the foul which saw Sudan reduced to ten men….. 6.5/10 Rabiu Ali – At the age of 37, he still has the legs to cover grounds and make runs into the box. Thread through fine passes and also help the Eagles hang on to possession when they needed to….. 7/10 DONT MISS ==> Iheanacho Reveals His Feel Good Mood Over Aguero's Absence Gabriel Okechukwu – Took his goal well and made so many runs behind the defence of Sudan which could easily have lead to goal. Looked lively all through. Silenced his critics with the official man of the match award….. 8.5/10 Tony Okpotu – Okpotu had another miserable night leading the lines for Nigeria as the lone striker. His control was poor. Missed a big chance to put Nigeria two goals up. Not many were surprised when he was sacrificed following the red card to Ifeanyi Ifeanyi….. 4.5/10 Substitutes: Dele Ajiboye – Proved he is more than just a back up. Made unbelievable saves which helped Nigeria protect their lead. On the strength of his performance tonight he has no doubt make a case to be included in the senior national team of Nigeria for the World Cup in Russia….. 8.5/10 Ibrahim Mustapha – Added energy and pace when he was introduced but didn’t do enough to help the team when they were defending their lead….. 4/10 Abdullahi Musa – Brought on to shore up the defence following the red card given to Ifeanyi Ifeanyi, and he was got involved but didn’t quite get the timing of his marking right, and it resulted to fouls which Sudan almost used to their advantage….. 4/10 Osas Mahawi 1 Like |
