OK is Balogun or Ekong world class player.

Not yet, and God bless you for making my point for me.

When Ekong and Balogun made their debut, I think we still had Oboabona, Ambrose and Omuero then, but Troost and Leon weren't denied the opportunity because they weren't World Class.

Then why bringing up World Class when it involves Uduokhai who's also another foreign born.

Pls what is really World Class player and what do you mean by our players are either average or below average.

Pls tell me any of these FB that's world class cos the way we are rating our players look diminishing and disturbing.

It was on this thread we turned Tammy to gold whereas the boy cannot even lace Iheanacho or Iwobi shoe.

Well said.

I guess Moses, iwobi, Mikel and ndidi are below average. A point I totally disagree with but everyman has his opinion

Yea I got your point and am not basing my comments so far on patriotism.

It would be stupid to compare Nigeria and Germany when it comes to attractiveness but my point is this do we need to be attractive like Germany and the likes to attract our FBs.
Few foreign borns might genuinely pick us ahead of Germany even with a less fancy team. It just means we should respect those players, it doesn't mean we should despise those that didn't, because, if given the chance, many of us will pick Germany without batting an eyelid.

Who set the bar higher?they should come in and perform like any other super eagles players,Nigerian fans are so passionate, nothing like FB or home grown foreign base players, perform and get the shirt.

Not when on this thread people are against their invitation to camp simply because they are not World Class.

If Osimhen Ideye, Success, and Musa start firing on all cylinders, Rohr will have a major selection headache.

The Osimhen I saw against hannover looked pretty strong playing as a CF...helped his team hold up play well as the lone forward,he reminds me of drogba.. if he keeps getting games, I think he might just be our third striker..

Note: I had to watch the full game to assess his performance..his team barely created any chance for him..

No my man,Keshi singlehandedly called Leon Balogun and had his debut against Mexico but got injured.

Ekong Troost was just too average or let me say below average,so he couldn't make the team,it was absence of Omeruo at Olympics that gave him the chance.

Pls go and watch Olympics again and you will agree with me that Super eagles contribute a lot to the development of Ekong.

Pls point of correction i never mentioned Uduokhai should be a world class before he can be invited,it seems you are mixing things up.

Pls is David Alaba and Dele Ali not respected,is Murphy Akanji not respected but Nigerians will despise any FBs that we approached and rejected us like Tammy Abraham, John Fashanu,Gabby Agbonlahon,Jordon Ibe or what do you think

He even almost scored from a cross, it was a lovely header but the goalie saved it!!! You need to see the kind of defenders he was playing against, they were all giants...

The bundesliga seem to be so strong defensively, its hard to score against any team. I watch their games on FOX sports and I get bored easily cos almost every team has very good defenders plus the formation they all use don't help matter( those formations tend to be more defensive minded)..

Too be honest I'm all for getting German FB defence( udokhai, akpoguma) for super eagles..there is just this grit about German raised defenders..

Amiens Keen To Solve Kayode Transfer Impasse After “Admin Reasons” Scuttled Move

French club Amiens are keen to resolve the transfer logjam involving Super Eagles striker Olanrewaju Kayode whose move to the club fell through on Wednesday, the January transfer deadline day, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

Kayode was linked with a loan move to the struggling Ligue 1 club all through January and was in France for the move from Manchester City. But somehow the deal was not completed on deadline day.

“Amiens SC is keen to comment on the situation of Nigerian international striker Larry Kayode, who was at the Stade de la Licorne last night, hoping to join the club,” Amiens explained on their official website on Thursday.

“All stakeholders agreed within the time frame set by the international regulations. For administrative reasons, the transfer of Larry Kayode has not been validated.

“The three clubs concerned (Manchester City, Girona FC and Amiens SC) are currently working on the follow-up to this case, and on the possible solutions.
“The final decision will be taken by the football authorities, after evaluation of the file.
“Whatever the outcome of this transfer, Amiens SC will be able to count on a competitive workforce and its loyal supporters, to achieve its main goal: the maintenance in Ligue 1 Conforama.
Go Amiens!”

Kayode joined Manchester City last summer from Austria Wien and was immediately loaned to Girona in LaLiga where he has had very little playing time.
Amiens are 15th in the Ligue 1 table with 25 points, just one point off the relegation places.

The Bundesliga is that solid My good man. And it is the Second best technically proficient league in the world after LA liga and ahead of Third placed EPL.

EPL is the toughest physically and the most dramatic of all leagues. Very very competitive league I tell you.

But in terms of technical proficiency, LA liga and Bundesliga lead the way.

Osimhen should keep at it. It is just his first Bundesliga Start and he was pretty decent when he led the front line. He can garner more games under his belt if he keeps working hard and getting better and better with each game. Lad got the potentials and like Sir TheGoodJoe would say, he belongs to a special breed of strikers/forwards rising from Nigeria that will form the League of Extraordinarily hitmen in the GWG.

It is well wink Thanks again for your brief on Osimhen. I really appreciate it.

AFCON 2019 UPDATE

Continue AFCON preparation work, confederation tells Cameroon
By Ian Holyman

Cameroon has been given the go-ahead to continue preparations to host the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), easing fears that it will not be ready in time.
Last summer, Confederation of African Football (CAF) President Ahmad Ahmad challenged Cameroon to show it would complete preparations to stage the event, taking place from June 7 to July 7 next year.

But following an inspection tour of tournament facilities and infrastructure by CAF experts last month, a positive preliminary report was presented to the executive committee earlier this
week.

CAF media chief Junior Binyam was quoted by AFP as saying Cameroon's right to stage the event "is not being brought into question" ahead of a full report due at the end of this month.

The host nation's task had been complicated by the fact it was awarded the right host the AFCON when it was a 16-team tournament, only for the CAF Executive Committee to increase the number of teams to 24 last year.

Sir did you really played the game cos i realised those who played the game always understand it better, this is the advantage Guardiola had over Mourinho.

Despite Germany victory in confederation cup did you realised the regulars in the team that missed the confederation cup still form the bedrock of the team

A good coach who knows what he is doing will only address where he is having issues in the team. The only success story in our Argentina match is the discovery of Idowu and Uzoho meaning LB is fix and likely goalkeeper issue.

If i may ask what led to our discussion? you asterisk Ighao's name which i disagreed now you are bringing another angle into it that those who missed Argentina game needs to work to make the team, quite agreed but no coach would used a victory in a friendly match to shut the door on some of his reliable just cos they missed the match which is not intentional but due to injury.

Mind you irrespective of the outcome of Argentina match i can bodily tell you that Victor Moses,Ogeny Onazi,Odion Ighalo will walk back straight into the team.

Sorry to say this asterisk of Ighalo and not asterisk Onazi or Victor Moses shows that you don't rate Ighalo cos the duo too missed Argentina match if we want to follow your reasons.

I will not deceive you for now Rohr doesn't joke with Mikel Obi,Victor Moses,Odion Ighalo,Leon Balogun, Ndidi Wifred,Ogenyi Onazi,Ekong Troost and newly added are Iheanacho and Alex Iwobi, these nine players are sure banker and likely starter at WC.
don't get me wrong... You need to understand the context of the discussion. No one is saying he won't make it into the team. I repeat Ighalo won't stroll in to the starting line-up without a fight. #fact.

but I'll address what you posted up there...
Ndidi got his first call up by Oliseh and was subed in for Mikel against CAM (friendly game).
Under Rohr. He came on as sub for Mikel against Tanzania. Started as RB against (Zambia first leg) due to lack of personnel at the RB. Came on as a sub again against Algeria(first leg).

He got his first start as DMF in a friendly game against Senegal pairing Onazi before the latter got injured. Since then he has went on to start every game for the SEs though he was UNCONVINCING in the early parts of those games.

Recently, Ndidi just began replicating his club performance in the national team.

How does "corruption" in our team address the point of using Nigeria as Plan B? not like we don't have tens of players wishing to play for us. playing for us has nothing to do with "corruption sir"

SerVik:

I didn't join the argument in support or otherwise of the invitation of udokhai, I only reacted to a statement you made and seeing that we had treated that issue at a point, when Mujtahida and joebie schooled us, I decided to chip in.

See, as a player, these guys make decisions for career advancement. In deciding which country to play for, it is easy for these guys to choose the glamorous European teams. I said we should clean our house and you misconstrued it.

We can clean our house by eliminating corruption in our teams. Tell me our team isn't more attractive with Rohr? This is a man that would make calls to clubsides to find out why his players are not playing, a coach that looks for club for his players, th at is career advancement, every player would want that kind of coach.

My qualm with your patriotism argument is that you are pinning the patriot tag on people that had it easy, they never had to make the hard choice.
You speak about Ebuehi, I admire the young man but if we're being honest, at this point the super Eagles is more attractive than the Dutch national team. Fact. And he never even got the invite.
