If we can press as hard as City, we don't have to lose possession and get caught on the counter. Pogba needs to work hard like KDB as well for this formation to work. But if Mourinho wants to continue like this, then Martial has to be benched or learn the RW role coz Sanchez is best from the LW from where he roves.

Blame the ref. He was never quick to flash the card at Huddersfield players who were out to hack us down. If na Pep na, he'd have been complaining about referees protecting players, I think he's right sha.

4-4-2 is easily 4-2-3-1 especially with a player like Sanchez involved.
Sanchez can comfortably play as SS/AM flanked by Martial and Mata who I'd have over Lingard for his ability to drift across the pitch and be part of our build up play. But all this depends on Pogba putting in a shift at the middle as you suggested.

Most definitely, with the quality in our ranks, we should be approaching games against top teams with a positive mentality.

Jose needs to find that blend. Pogba should not be playing in a middle 2. Thats a complete waste especially against the better teams or away from home. 433 has to be the way forward.


Also, no point asking Fellaini to sign a new deal. McTominay will take his place easily. Plus fellaini is already 30 yrs old. Let him go.

Sanchez is definitely a great addition to the squad. Obviously a no brainer but the guy na baller. Onward and upwards.

This no even need to be conundrum. Play Sanchez as CAM, let martial remain on the left. Then make Mata and all the others fight for right.
Rashford can continue to get cameo appearances on that left till he fully sorts himself out

My preferred formation would be 433...pogba matic and mctommy should man that midfield, Sanchez lukaku and martial up front. Lukaku is out of the sunken place.

How, nothing beats natural. No matter how long he trains in the RW position, he can never be as good as on the left. Sanchez would better be moved to the SS position because forcing Tony to play on the Right would most likely not go down well with him. Only a matter of time before suitors who are ready to play him in his best position start showing their ugly faces.

Gbam!! If Pogba can just forget about pushing forward to attack all the time in a 4231 formation, and allow Martial, Lingard, Sanchez and Ukaku to chase down opposition players while him and Matic pick up the pieces snuff out impending danger, 4231 will serve us best. Like a football columnist pointed out, against Tottenham he's stuck on deciding if he's to attack or defend thereby leaving us exposed. He needs to apply the brakes on his attacking zeal against top teams when we're being dominated. Mctominay did today exactly what Pogba needs to be doing. Against small teams, he can dominate and join in attack but against top teams, he needs to help out his partner Matic. This way we won't be spending big on another midfielder to partner Matic coz if Pogba is moved to the AM position, it means Martial would be benched and I hate that.

But we still need one or two midfielders to replace Carrick and Fellaini, though.
