Icon4s: They must not make the final list but have the high quality training of the National team to help improve them. Did you read this before making the following statement? So we should have swept aside Enyeama, Ejide and Ayenugba? He was no where near these guys then. Because you are totally off point. Hand hold and help grow especially the exceptional talents. The point is too simple. I am glad we have someone like Rohr who thinks differently from the regular way most of our past handlers think. Finally, Osimhen did not have the chance to have a second shot in the U20. That does not mean he is not good or not quality. That Amunike's team was good and it is a clear case of us identifying Special talents and falling to hand hold them in one way or another. That team played 35 games and only lost one. Unfortunately, that one cost them the qualifiers. Especially after how badly they were treated. From little reward for their success in Chile, lack of support during preparation, owed bonuses from the U17 to the U20 camping. Haba, have conscience. Rohr, Baba Tuale. 1 Like 1 Share |

somehow:on what performance...will they sneak into the super eagles? so far...none of them besides the goal keepers will easily get a look in.... you don't go on trying to carve a reason for the inclusion of Chan players in the world cup party...simply because you're an npfl fan... the national team job are for competent legs...and not the case where sentiment thrives... 1 Like |

Our players are under rated. They are better than we think. This also goes to the League of extraordinary hitmen fans. We have something Special in our hands. 10 Likes 2 Shares |

somehow:better....after the world.cup bring up the issue..... from what I have watched so far...besides the goal keepers...none is capable of laying hold to a starting shirt in the SE first 11.... where we have the league....ndidi rose all the way from an academy in Lagos to Europe and today no npfl player can match his abilities...same wit nancho and others... just few years they have spent in European football colleges they've improved so much.... let alone the likes of Moses, iwobi etc who all their lives..right from tender age..undergo grooming in this football academics...none of our Chan players can play better than iwobi even though they may be older in age... but the young lad have been groomed, tutored and harnessed to bring out his best... same process should our Chan players go through...the npfl coaches have really done nothinh to groom this guys.. let them get good clubs in Europe that will school and polish them to suit the need of the round leather game....before we talk of them making the 23 man party to Russia... you tell me the inclusion of the Chan players in the world cup party for Qatar 2022 I will understand...not Russia 2018. 2 Likes |

Ademola Lookman came on in the 78th min and got the winner for RB Leipzig in the German Bundesliga in the 89th min against A very good Borussia Mochengladbach side with Ginter and Vestergaard at the back!!!!.. Chaaiiiii.... Good one man... And his goal is reported to have been assisted by Naby Keita. We must secure him for the Eagles. Hope he is willing when we approach him. Keep shining Lookman... He seems to have a knack for scoring debut goals... He did same at Everton 10 Likes |

Honestly, the most impressive Nigerian player for me this season is Ndidi. He has really improved his game. Though I didn't see the first half today but from what I saw in the second half today, it is very clear Iheanacho enjoys playing from the deep. He doesn't like being isolated upfront. In the match he scored two goals, there was something he did that really confirmed his confidence has been restored. It was the ball he tapped up before smatching a shot that was goal bound but blocked. This was from the highlight though. That was captivating to say the truth. Now, this is what I am talking about. You must play well before going to Russia and now that he is playing well. EOD. I really thank Rohr for declaring he would only take players playing regularly for their clubs to Russia. Hehehehe,! That statement gave many players hope to fight for shirt. And that is the reason Success, Ujah, Ideye, Etebor and Musa fast fast go look for club. Now, this is interesting. 12 Likes |

krattoss:Iwobi's haters? I haven't come across one yet. I mean on this thread. Guys are only trying to be realistic and not hating. On the other hand I have never seen a coach who so much believes, depends and trust young players like Wenger. That man is a COACH and not just a manager. 7 Likes |

TheGoodJoe: Firstly, take it from me that in terms of talent, Iwobi and Osimhen are not on the same level. Secondly, England was also pushing for the young man. So Nigeria needed to do the needful. Thirdly, though Iwobi had not played any senior game for Arsenal( he did that same month he played for Nigeria) but he featured prominently in Arsenal's preseason tour and his performance was enough to attract the attention of the national team handlers. Fourthly, Iwobi's kind of ability could not be ignored for the position we desired of him. We were in need of a potential replacement for Mikel and Iwobi was beginning to show traits of an Heir apparent. Fifthly, the only time Osimhen did anything exceptional was at the U17 in 2015. As a senior player for Wolfsburg he has not done anything that has set him apart from other young strikers. If you are looking for young players to "hold hands", you should also consider likes of Kingsley Michael, Taiwo Awoniyi, Cyriel Dessers among others . Osimhen is yet to break out of the park IMHO. 3 Likes |

TheGoodJoe: Which of them won MVP and or highest goal scorer? And where are the players that won the MVP and highest goal scorers when these guys played U17? Ajiboye won golden glove ahead of De Gea. Where ate the two today? |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2023, 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 9:15pm On Feb 03, 2018 |
Icon4s: Iwobi and Osimhen play totally different positions, so, we can not start comparing them. Their styles are totally different. Secondly, you are missing the point of the debate. The point is we should hand hold more. An example was Rohr hand holding Awaziem, Osimhen. I gave an example. I wonder how you have turned that to we should hand hold Awoniyi. Funny. Are you Rohr to understand what he has seen in Osimhen that sparked his interest? How are you sure Dessers or Awoniyi have what he is looking for. Iwobi did not fit into your experience, do well in club for some time criteria. Finito. |
