Icon4s: So if the player wins MVP, then he can not be World Class. Funny again. It is not about winning MVP but identifying exceptional talents and nurture them. Saviola broke the U20 scoring record, scoring an astonishing 11 goals, did not come close in quality to Tevez who in the same year scored 2 in the U17. I have said before. Talent is one thing. Then comes hard work and support. I want our exceptional players to work hard but the National team should contribute in providing support. 1 Like 1 Share |

forgiveness:you too saw that moment of confidence... I thought I was only having it played out in my mind and probably was just exaggerating the skill. That match was against Fleetwood town. I saw the highlight of his assist and the goal bound shot blocked by a swansea player(though I was expecting him to hit the ball straight away with his right foot) during the goal rush while watching man-u today. I'll say he is fit again. |

Icon4s: De Gea is in an environment that provides amazing grooming. From the academy being coached by Professional coaches to leagues that promote the development of young players. Yet you want Ajiboye who was not supported by the National team and Did not have close to the nurturing environment De Gea enjoyed to be on the same level? Why do you think I am clamoring for more support? A player like Ajiboye with support and exposure would have become top quality. |

TheGoodJoe: Did I say if a player wins MVP he cannot be world class? Your argument is that because Osimhen won golden boots at U17 and K. Nwakali won golden ball too they should be given automatic slots in the national team because they are special talents. And I tell you NO that most MVPs and Golden boot winners don't end up well so let the duo prove their mettle at club senior level first. Abi no be wetin we dey argue? 1 Like |

Jordan Torunarigha played in central defence today (left CB) for Hertha BSC in their 1-1 Bundesliga tie with TSG Hoffenheim. Remember Torunarigha stands at 1.89m tall and is left footed too. He can feature as both LB and CB. He was the best player on the pitch according to WhoScored. 8 Likes

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 9:30pm On Feb 03, 2018 |
Icon4s: I said we should not wait for clubs to develop our talents before supporting them. I wonder where you are getting automatic slots from. Baffling. I say create room for the exceptional ones to train with the team. Not play or get automatic slots. I also called for the establishment of a team b. Osimhen and Kelechi Nwakali was not even in the picture. It was about an exceptional talent like Ajiboye, identified and abandoned. If we had someone like Rohr with us all these years, this would not have happened. He would take steps to support our exceptional talents. |

TheGoodJoe: Oga you cannot because Iwobi got his debut at such an age and use that to call for Osimhen all in the name of nurturing. We saw Iwobi's class as a senior player before he was invited. I am yet to see anything from Osimhen as a senior player. Period. 2 Likes |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 9:36pm On Feb 03, 2018 |
Icon4s: I am not calling for Osimhen. Osimhen had nothing to do with what I was talking about. Get the point. It is too simple. Due to the challenges our players face because of the Nigerian factor that holds them from reaching the pinnacle of their abilities, the National team handlers should do more hand holding to enable some of them reach their deserved heights. Do you see Osimhen in the point? |

TheGoodJoe: To create room is it not to create slots or automatic spots? We should not wait for clubs? The clubs is even the best place for them to get groomed and not the national team. So if we had Rohr all these years he would have "created room" for Ajiboye when we had better goalies like Enyeama, Ejide and Ayenugba? That was not necessary oga. 1 Like |

Icon4s: It was necessary if for a second we had an eye on the future and building a top quality goalkeeper or maybe the best in the World. Imagine a talent like Ajiboye in camp training with the likes of Enyeama and under the tutelage of Ike Shorunmu for about two or three years. His quality would have been Outstanding. That is a room to bridge the gap of the lack of quality training our special talents might miss out on. The exposure, Brutal. I have always hammered on behind the scene is key. That is my point. We are fond of relaxing when we find the next shining object. 1 Like |

TheGoodJoe: Bros, there us no way we will carry all these goalies along. Akpan Bassey( i even know him personally) also came at a time when the trio of Enyeama, Ejide and Ayenugba were at their best. Do you know Ezenwa was also exceptional at the 2007 U20? How many keeper we wan invite to camp? |
