Icon4s: Our master plan should be to develop him in our league not to ship him to a foreign league. With better management and structure could be one of the best leagues for youth development. |

Joebie: We have done some screening to some level but hardly or never selected the best. That is my problem. That is why I said, screen and select the best. 1 Like |

Joebie:Jobie i will not deceive you anytime i remember our goalkeeping issue fear always grip me but i will not deceive you if care is not taken it would be one of our greatest undue at the coming WC cos options available looks somehow, home based goalkeepers and untested foreign goalkeepers, then how do we go about it. I will not deceive you i would not rate Alampasu and Maduka ahead of Ezenwa and Ajiboye for now cos i haven't see them playing for Eagles,so it would be sentimental to put them ahead. On Uzoho being number one, well he had a good game against Argentina but not really tested so more games as you said may be another 90 minutes then we judge but what i saw against Argentina he looked promising. Ezenwa had it so good in WC qualifying matches except Algeria match were he made some basic errors though he happens sometimes but i don't think Rohr trust him but if we go by his performance against Angola then Rohr need to trust him. Ajiboye which i don't think is on Rohr radar but with his performance against Sudan it would be an injustice if he is not consider cos his saves against Sudan were awesome but may be a good showing against Morocco would convince Rohr. As thegoodjoe always saying we need to give our goalkeepers level playing ground so that we can pick the best without sentiment 3 Likes |

BascoVanVeli: We develop him both in the local league(his early years) and then he moves to the foreign leagues for better exposure. Our league structure doesn't have what it takes to bring out the best in a player. Be real man. 1 Like |

BascoVanVeli: We have been talking about "developing the league, developing the league " since I have been following football. Please if that guy should happen to be a big hit in either our U17 team or NPFL he should make his way to a good club in Europe for the benefit of both his career and our national team. |

Kog45: Good write up. But do you also know that the training ground may not be the best place to select the best keeper? |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 10:32am On Feb 04, 2018 |
Icon4s: Can you tell us the best place? The only way to know who is the best is to get them together, screen and know who have better indices. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by BascoVanVeli(m): 10:33am On Feb 04, 2018 |
Icon4s: Like I said, if we improve on our management and structure the NPFL could be one of the best leagues for youth development. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 10:36am On Feb 04, 2018 |
Icon4s: It is in such environment you can test abilities. From agility, reflexes, technical understanding in setting up defence, reach, clearance strength, passing ability, etc. As I said before a goalkeeper trainer who can not screen and select the best is not a good goalkeeper trainer. He does not know his job. |

Icon4s: Going to Europe should not be at the top of any young man's mind because his head should be on reality. Reality is that he can improve with MFM and climb up the national team ranks at the same time. We should focus on that and not when a deal from Europe will come in. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Kog45(m): 10:39am On Feb 04, 2018 |
Icon4s:OK you are right but with what we have seen so far. Akpeyi against South Africa, Argentina, Uzoho against Argentina, Ezenwa against Cameroon,Zambia, Algeria,Angola Ajiboye against Guinea, Sudan, Pls pick your number one |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Icon4s(m): 10:42am On Feb 04, 2018 |
BascoVanVeli: That is "if". And a Nigerian "If" for that matter. In a place like Europe "If" can be a 50% chance of success and 50% chance of failure. But the Nigerian "If" can be only 1% chance of Success and 99% chance of failure. Please if that Lawal guy should become a hit I wish him a good footballing career in Europe Jare. Who no like better thing. |

Kog45: Based on strength of attack/nature of opposition faced and importance of games played. Ezenwa had the strongest test. So he comes out top for me. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Icon4s(m): 10:46am On Feb 04, 2018 |
TheGoodJoe: Do you think Akpeyi is as jittery in training as he is under a match day situation? |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by BascoVanVeli(m): 10:49am On Feb 04, 2018 |
Kog45: I think playing continental football had something to do with the move and also not too many teams would be able to match Enyimba's pay package. |

Icon4s: The jittery actions comes from fear. There have never been a report that Akpeyi stood out in the Super Eagles camp. Then you make him the regular. How do you think fear will not enter his body? 1 Like |

Icon4s: If that's all we want then shouldn't the boy be in an academy? what is the use of complaining about the average age of the league being too high when u want to sell our young players to the highest bidders? |

BascoVanVeli: That is not the reality. The reality is for you to have any serious chance of making the Super Eagles team you must ply your trade in Europe. Common! if that guy mama read your post e fit "Se pe " for you o. A boy that may be nursing an ambition of playing for Real Madrid or Barcelona you say make him develop for MFM. Common be real man. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Daejoyoung: 11:09am On Feb 04, 2018 |
Icon4s:lrrespective of the nature of the opposition, based on just the quality of the saves, l think l would go with Ajiboye. What Ezenwa has over Akpeyi is confidence, but Ezenwa is not calm and yet Ajiboye seems to me to be both calm and confident. This is my opinion though. 5 Likes |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Icon4s(m): 11:10am On Feb 04, 2018 |
BascoVanVeli: The average age of the league is high because the more promising players have left. Also, scouts target younger players. If he should be in an academy fine but once he excels and the big clubs start coming I am sure you'll be one of those to rejoice here. So just be real. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Icon4s(m): 11:11am On Feb 04, 2018 |
Daejoyoung: But who do you think has a better chance of making it to Russia between Ezenwa and Ajiboye. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Icon4s(m): 11:12am On Feb 04, 2018 |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Daejoyoung: 11:14am On Feb 04, 2018 |
Icon4s:Ezenwa, because he's had more chances with the team, maybe due to the preference of Alloy Agu. Rohr hasn't given Ajiboye opportunities to prove himself yet like he has given Ezenwa and even Akpeyi/Uzoho. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Icon4s(m): 11:15am On Feb 04, 2018 |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by BascoVanVeli(m): 11:16am On Feb 04, 2018 |
Icon4s: That's a lie, plenty of players have made it into the SE while playing in the NPFL even under Rohr. I have no issue with him going abroad but that should not be his mission in life he should focus on his development. Are u guaranteeing me that he is going to be good enough to play for Madrid or Barca? |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by jihday(m): 11:16am On Feb 04, 2018 |
BascoVanVeli:Basco, somehow and other ardent followers of the local league, with MFM bad traveling record coupled with the fact that most of their players are young academy players, do you think they'll do well on the continent? we really need to go far this time around I think since sunshine stars made it to the semifinals I'm not sure any Nigerian side have done well on the continent. we can't afford to wait for a very long time before we win it again. these North African sides no get 2 heads na and it's not like they play better than us. |
