U are the same people that will come here to complain about the NPFL being filled with old legs but now u wan turn agent to sell our young players away.

I am not defending anything I am just bringing that to ur attention

Just like the New Keeper trainer blanked out Alampasu, who you claim is always the best in camp.

The new trainer did not blank Alampasu, it was the organizers that said Alampasu got dropped due to Logistics. Which to me dripped foul play. That is why I am calling for all in camp and let the trainer judge.

Guys I got an interesting book from a WhatsApp forum I belong to on how Germany won the last WC (Title:Das reboot). If anyone is interested in the book just drop your email and I will send the book to you.

The book details how the Germans engineered the 2014 success, how they went about it deliberately, setting things up from say roughly 2002. It tells of how German players are educated to become thoroughbred professionals. It tells the story of the establishment of football academies and playing centers spread out throughout Germany in a way similar to how the RCCG church establishes a parish in every 1km (walking distance). It talks about the potpourri of human resources the Germans utilized- they even involved the German national hockey team coach, a world renowned adventurer and SAP (the largest software company in the world)

It's 289 pages, written in quite an engaging way with a happy, lighthearted tone wrapped up in simple, crisp English.

Football is no longer kick, dribble, run, score. It has become scientific, indeed almost a pure science. This much became apparent to me when due to the constant use of terms like pressing, diamond shape, tactical formations by goodjoe, Mickael2 and others. Joebie reintroduced me again to four four two online after I'd read the hardcopies long time ago. Reading four four two magazine further reinforced the view that football is an intellectual endeavour.

We are here today. Nobody knows who among us might be involved with our football tomorrow. So reading such a book can birth a dream in our hearts or at least give us insight on how things are shaping up beyond our climes. Reading Icon4s mention Osimhen in his exchange with goodjoe, I remembered the book and I think Osimhen is just now getting educated. Our footballer play football. Europeans are educated from 6 years on to play football. That's the difference between Iwobi said Osimhen. Street cannot measure up anymore to the refinements of an educated footballer. That era is long gone.

OK I am wrong. No Nigerian player should ever leave this country to play football in Europe and we have the best pitches to train our young players.

So are you happy now.

Now please let me discuss some thing else in Peace.

I am impressed to hear our local pitches are as good as the pitches in Europe. Wooow.

On a serious note.

Nigeria Is Not A Serious Football Country - Stephen Keshi

“How many good pitches do we have in this country? Keshi queried. We say we are a football
nation and we don't even have good training pitches for the national team, or good field to play
on. Instead, there are artificial pitches everywhere, even the new Stadium in Uyo, it was when I
heard from the governor that they wanted to use artificial pitch that I had to shout and tell him no
way. That is how they used natural grass pitch there. But why should I be the one to say it? Where
are the journalists?”

We will get there, for now, we have a long way to go.

It was clearly stated that Alampasu did not come to camp due to Logistics. Not me. I criticized it openly here and said it was a case of underhand dealing. Bring Alampasu along the likes of Ezenwa and Uzoho. Screen and select the best. Until then, it reeks bias and sentiments.

Bros even in the Morocco that we are playing right now there are artificial pitches. Artificial pitches are not bad pitches, get that clear. There are artificial pitches in parts of Europe.

Chisom Egbuchalam made the squad in Zambia. I am not saying players should not go abroad but develop them first.

Fidelis Ilechukwu is a good coach and has proven with Stephen Odey that he is a good player developer. The boy is in good hands.

Egbuchulam did not make the match day squad against Zambia.

Odey is still developing. He has done nothing yet.

So, we do not have good pitches compared to our European couterparts. You can not say you will prevent a player like Iheanacho from going to Manchester City and working hard on wonderful pitches. Have fantastic training atmosphere, work with highly qualified coaches. Telling him to leave that for the Nigerian league to develop him.

Read a bit of the link I posted there and see the development difference. For now, we need to export our best talents to make good use of the Environment of the foreigners until we get serious.

My point was the NFF should have made sure Alampasu was also in camp to work with the coach and let the coach pick the best.

Logistics excuse was pure wrong. Also, it was another clear case of why I said we should do more to hand hold our exceptional young talents. A keeper who outclassed the likes of Ezenwa and Akpeyi repeatedly in training should be in camp with the National team if those he outclassed were there.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2023, 2025 And 2026 World Cup by tbaba1234: 1:04pm On Feb 04, 2018
A good young player should not stay too long in the NPFL if they can avoid it. Maximum, 5 years if possible.

When several of our players finally go abroad, they have to unlearn so many of the things, they have been taught. That is why it is hard for even the talented ones to succeed.

Our master plan should be to develop him in our league not to ship him to a foreign league. With better management and structure could be one of the best leagues for youth development.

Until these clubs develop quality structures that equates with the ones in Europe, I don't think we should have much hope on these lads.

first u said we don't have good pitches to train on which was wrong.

I never said we should prevent a player from leaving that is even what we should want but like I said the player should not be focused on leaving. I made my comment because in the back of my mind I was thinking about Nazifi Yahaya from the NPFL U17 team who is still spending time trying to go on trials in Europe instead of focusing on playing for Kano Pillars and seeing what can happen.

I want us to develop players that can walk into big teams and not guys going on trials to Norway or something. I rather they play at home than go to ALbania or something that's all

Good pitches is just the least of it. That is why I started from there. We do not have good pitches. We can not change that fact.

Secondly, Nazifi is one of the players I tag as exceptional talents and I do not like them long on our shores if they are to become some of the best players in the World.

I agree due to the set backs Nazifi has faced, he should focus on the home league but as soon s right opportunity comes, he should leave. I hope he lands in a quality academy or teams.

I am also not satisfied with him either. Not just him, but any of the goalies.

Threat from an Angola, Sudanese or a homebased Guinean side is nothing compared to what is obtainable at the regular AFCON and WC qualifiers let alone the WC.

As I said before, It is going to be a tough tough decision for Rohr to assign Uzoho as first choice, no matter the amount of personal training and coaching he receives.

The WC is for men.
Now who are the men for WC

I acknowledged that but all i'm saying is that it would be most ideal to focus on developing the player. Don't forget that a lot also depends on the coaching. For example, Abdu Maikaba has been doing a great job in player development.

Please Guys
Let's put aside this misleading mantra of "WC is for men".

All the old men we have been taking to the WC since what have they done?

I even prefer going with young players and developing them for the future.

Just as long as u know that u only proved that a lot of teams use artificial pitches.

Anyhoo, Nazifi is still young compared to Alhassan, Odey and Aremu who developed in our local league.

The minute nff and NPFL prioritize success and development in our football over greed and corruption then we can start talking of our players developing in the country. I am all for our home based players going to Europe because that's where they get good World class football education. What player has been in the the NPFL for a considerable period of time whom you Can vouch for to produce top class performance for the SE?Except ajiboye. Can you imagine if mikel played his whole career in the NPFL, you think he would smell the SE? Even if he did I doubt he would be this influential. It's not only talent.education, top facilities, pitches, quality training drills, health and diets, fitness are now has important as talent for the top level.

It seems, I'm getting you now.

The young boy shouldn't focus all his energy and hope on travelling to Europe, he should take it one step at a time, so when the opportunity presents itself, he travels. If he's all about breaking out of the league, he might not eventually make it out and would end up being a mediocre player.

Right?

Yes, even you are not on the 18, you can be on the bench. You travel with 23 but can name only 18 for the match.

I hope Odey gets to score a lot more but it is too early.
