Hello Fam. Please I need you your help. Can I change my
point of entry? I told the VO that I will be giving birth in
Texas but I want to use a hospital in Califonia instead.
1. Will I be turned back if I land in Califonia instead of
Texas?
2. Will a change in state reduce my chances of visa renewal
in future? Thanks |

happyme31: Depends on the reason for the change....one mama said she was asked at POE why she changed....it was because the uncle she planned to stay with had travelled.....so if the reason is solid...i don't think it'll be a problem...but you may be asked. I would say be careful if your reason is for cheaper hospital...in recent visa renewals some mamas who applied through drop box have been called for follow up interviews....and some VOs are frowning at big discounts.....you may also be asked to explain why you changed. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Good Evening my people. My wife will be going on her missionary journey sometimes in may and I want my mum to accompany her. My wife got her visiting visa in march 2017, we both went visiting for 2 weeks in sept 2017 (cos i have visiting visa too). She took in after this trip. Now we want to go give birth and after alot of reading here, we plan to just send the change of intent mail for her to travel with her current valid visa while we apply for a visa for my mum who wud accompany her. Pls is this a good plan? Or would it be best for her to apply for a medical visa? she still has a valid visiting visa which she used for that purpose? Pls which visa should my mum apply for? Medical or visiting or B1/B2 (confused at this point) and what documents is she to go with for her interview? Also she has never travelled out of Nigeria before. will this be an issue? Trying not to make a mistake, pls help me out my mamas and gurus in the house. Thanks. |

gretop: Since your wife has used her visa for what it was issued for,I don't think you guys are likely to have any issues.i also don't think it's necessary to apply for a new medical visa. Your mum should apply for b1/B2 visiting visa and tell them at interview that she's accompanying her daughter in-law to birth. She should go with your wifes Dr's correspondence, her visa page, your bank statement as the sponsor etc.Her nor have traveled out of Nigeria is inconsiqential. Just read up here, you'll find similar scenarios. |

Good day wonderful people. I recently just signed on to this wonderful family although prior to now I usually check out comments of nairalanders via google search and I must say that I am inspired. I and DH decided in December to take a 3 weeks trip to the USA in 2018 because we never got the chance to have a proper honeymoon when we initially married because I commenced child birth almost immediately (I was heavily pregnant at the time). Fortunately for us we recently discovered that we are pregnant for our 3rd child January 2018 and we have decided to birth in the USA this time since we can afford it. I work with a multinational and husband works with one of the best indigenous IT firms in Nigeria. We also have a registered growing business here in Nigeria and a couple of properties here and there. We have been out of the country severally and I once with our first child to the UK BUT never together. Now to my questions: 1) Can we apply together as a couple bearing in mind that this will be our first attempt at the USA embassy? If yes what sort of Visa should we be looking at bearing in mind that I am pregnant now and will be due in September hopefully. We intend to have our holiday before I birth and will be using that same trip to birth our child. I do not intend to lie about my pregnancy status if asked. We do not intend to go with our 2 other kids at least for now because school will be in session. 2) What documents should we have handy with us to aid the application process when asked 3) We are looking at birthing in Texas and will be staying with my husbands childhood friend who is a citizen and works in a Oil Rig in the USA, will this be OK? 4) Do we have to make a deposit for delivery to the hospital via to Visa interview date to aid our chances? 4) Will appreciate any relevant info on cost of birthing via CS in a reputable hospital in Texas 5) I will like to know if its BEST I apply alone for now and maybe after birthing and back to Nigeria we can then apply as a family or a couple for holiday later in the future. 6) Will it be OK to apply separately. My husband applies first while I take my time to get all my documents then apply later. 7) If my husband applies first bearing in mind that his major intention is for holiday with me can he clearly state that if asked and hope it will not affect his chances as I currently do not have a USA visa but will apply after him. I will appreciate if I can get a feedback soon while I continue to check other comments in other post. Really appreciate. |

funmiogunz: Answers to 1) 5) 6) 7) applying together or separately.....up to you....people here have done both....most important is that VO believes that you can afford the trip....whether holiday or birth......and that you have enough ties in Nigeria (like work etc) such that you will return. 2) documents - see page 105 of thread 1 or post by zoemummy page 343 of thread 5. It all depends on your own application and what you say in your DS160 application form. 3) doesn't really matter whether you know anyone in the U.S. or not..... you can fill your friend's contact on your form where asked. 4) paying a deposit can show your financial strength although it's not a pre-requisite...showing bank statements is more common. To find hospitals in Texas (the most popular state on this thread) search using the field at the top of the page or google....there is also an advert on NL here for a facility in Texas 1 Like 1 Share |

Hi everyone. I have been a silent reader of this thread since part 4 and I have gathered enough information to proceed with the birthing process. My DW is 3 months gone and we want to start the process early. I'm a car importer and a car dealer, I have been into automobile business for the past 5 years but i register my company over 2 years ago. I import my cars from USA as I have all the required license to buy from the auction. I got married august 2017 and me and DW traveled to Kenya, Tanzania and Dubai for our honeymoon. Also, I have also been to South Africa once before getting married. DW is not working yet, infact she just got her appointment letter yesterday from civil service commission in Lagos and she has upto 6 weeks before she can submit acceptance letter and start working. I want DW to give birth to our baby in Houston, Texas and we have prepared the budget sheet, about $15,000 and I will be sponsoring the trip. I have my company bank statement and also my person account statement with enough funds to cover the trip. Now, I do receive car payment to my personal account sometimes, and I'm wondering if this won't affect us? Also, I don't have a fixed salary but I make between 600K to 1M monthly, I don't pay salary into my savings account from my business account, I hope that won't pose any problem? Should we apply together based or she should apply alone? pls, any advice will be appreciated. , I really don't have to visit US but my wife is my priority so we can give our baby that dual citizenship. thanks |

Thanks mamaron. I have completed the application. My confirmation page sent to my email. I have been looking for the link for paying visa fees and nothing heĺps. My last application, i was shown a link to print out and take to bank. Or should i just go to Gtbank and pay visa fees? After that, what next? How do i proceed with submitting receipts and booking appointment. Am sorry but i have really tried and cant figure it out. Thanks mamaron: |

Not necessarily. its not like the UK who see it like desperation. The refusal letter always says if status has changed. you can explain the change in status properly and carefully at the next interview. Myself and wife we denied at the first interview and I went straight to the bank to pay for another application for her and got a 2weeks date. the rest is history AroOkigbo: 2 Likes |

Nwebele: Sorry I'm asking this question late in plain terms from the DS160 questionnaire, an abridged version though, but just to help us all: "Have you ever sought to obtain entry into the United States by willful misrepresentation?" I ask because I'm wondering if the above isn't assumable as what transpired between you and the CBP. I don't feel you have anything to lose by agreeing to this yet again compared to not agreeing this time around. Just my thought sha! Regards.... 1 Like |
