The quickest way is to call the customer care centre on this number +1 613-944-4000. The agent will confirm to you on the spot the visa office processing your application. NB: The call may last upto about 40mins. Chester2018: 6 Likes 8 Shares |

Apologies for coming late to the Face Value Vs Discounted Value Party . Let’s see Tbills (and FD) as investment rather than POF. Tbills is supposed to be I give up N6M in investment, FG gives me 500k (upfront) as interest. This is the accounting activity in some banks (I know FCMB), you’re debited 6M and immediately credited 500k whereas, a bank like GT will just debit you 5.5M. So, I have an investment (certificate) worth 6M and a closing balance of 500k, the real debate should actually be, can I use my closing balance (SOA) as part of POF since that 500k (in the statement) is the unearned interest you will give part up in the event of liquidation not any amount in the N6M. If you use discounted value to calculate your POF, you’re simply saying your investment is not worth 6M when in actual sense, you gave up N6M. For me, I used both N6M and even N500k in my POF calculation . Another angel to see this… Let’s say I want to use only my Tbills certificate as POF without adding my SOA which is totally allowed. For parties saying use discounted value, that means, I’d be saying my POF is 5.5M? When before the investment I had 6M in my account? Biko, Face Value all the way mehn, no time . P.S: All figures used are hypothetical. cc: Guitarlife, DabR, Newmum0615, Happytbaby, GlitteringStar, 40manlappy and all other owambe attendees 17 Likes 1 Share |

Guitarlife: I don't know why you are still worrying over this matter. After all, most of us had the face value in the account anyway and merely collected our interest upfront. Let me state again, many people that I know both on and off Nairaland used face value and there was no issue. If it still bothers you so much, you can tweet at IRCC via @CitImmCanada 4 Likes |

Hello house, please can someone recommend where I can scan documents wider than the usual A4 size i.e marriage certificate and newspaper publication on name change in Lagos (between and Gbagada and Ikeja axis). Business centers around my area can only reduce the size and photocopy for me. I'm really not sure if this will be acceptable. Please assist. Thanks |

Hello family, got the golden mail today. Here's my timeline and some points that might be useful. AOR: 1st Sept 2017 MP: 8th Sept NA1: not sure IP1: not sure NA2: not sure (I noticed it was NA when I started checking actively in November) IP2: Jan 29th - Jan 31st PPR: Feb 7th. Family of 4, Visa office- Ottawa, 1 UK visa refusal for my husband , moderate travel history 1. I'm a self employed pharmacist and am the primary applicant so it wasn't a smooth sail at all as there were many grey areas regarding proof of employment and funds. For proof of employment We submitted CAC documents, all my annual licenses( both personal and for my pharmacy for the last 4years) PAYE tax receipts for my employees and myself, no letter of explanation (wasn't a good idea at all). 2. For POF, I transferred half of the amount required from my business account a few days before we submitted our application to my personal account and fixed it in T bills. We then drafted a board resolution and stated we as directors of the bank have decided to take the said sum from the profits of the business. Then my husband provided the remaining with his savings account statement (6months), a letter from his bank and a letter of indebtedness as well, we also added his pensions so we had at least 1M over the required POF to allow for foreign exchange fluctuations. In December we decided to order gcms notes, all thanks to this wonderful thread. The results came in mid January and mehn I got a rude shock. The officer that reviewed my application in the CIO stated that I had not met eligibility requirements because of my NOC..., that i didnt give evidence of documentation from 3rd party individuals indicating nature of work done ..blah blah blah. Honestly I don't know where and how I got the strength cos at this point was tired. Anyways we put all we could together I.e receipts from some suppliers, snap shots of emails, snapshots of our social media pages and websites, the contract from my security company etc. Then I wrote a comprehensive LOE. Then we sent an email via the CSE page and attached all these. I got a reply after 5 days stating they had sent it to the office processing my application and would be contacted if further documents were needed. Fast forward to IP2 and yay..victory at last. No ADRs Thank you all for sharing your experiences and answering questions . May all our dreams come true. 65 Likes 2 Shares |

engrjoseph208: You can either use it or change your name. Some have used it like that on this forum without issues, you just have to support your application with marriage certificate, change of name etc. In my own case, I applied to change my name on my passport, so I'm still waiting for it to be ready. |

You have nothing to worry about. If you have your marriage certificate, you can use your passport with your maiden name. You can also choose to change it, the choice is yours. engrjoseph208: |
