The Budding Chelsea Starlet Who Could Become The Next Obi Mikel It is interesting to note that a certain 18-year old midfield sensation is swiftly coming of age at Chelsea with his awe-inspiring performances from deep for the U18 side. The prodigy is none other than Tariq Uwakwe, a promising teenager who has been with the Blues since he was aged eight. His performances has bellied his tender years though, as he has set about making name for himself in a way which has easily caught the eyes and even once sparked a courting war between his native Nigeria and his country of birth though there had been revelations that he has considered the idea of representing Nigeria. After signing his first professional contract with Chelsea on his 17th birthday, Uwakwe has gone on to feature consistently in the U18 Premier League side who sit atop the standings this term after 14 rounds of games, having won 11 times and lost just once. Having won the division title and the FA Youth Cup in the 2016/2017 campaign, the Nigeria faithful would relish the thought of the whizkid reprising such astute performances both alongside his Stamford Bridge compatriot, Victor Moses and for Nigeria. His versatility bodes well too as he is as adept at featuring in central midfield as also playing as a left-winger and left back position. He can dovetail nicely in any type of midfield set-up and his long range of passing reminds one of Mikel Obi. His eye for goal is equally documented too as he scored and tallied an assist in the young Blues biggest victory this season, a 7-0 rout of West Ham. Thus, such performances would not only make his progression to the Chelsea first team a lot easier but could eventually push NFF into throwing every thing all out to get him to commit to the Super Eagles. **Emmanuel Chinaza Photo Credit : chelseafc.com Source: http://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/read_news.php?nid=26508 Russia 2018 WC Countdown: 127 days to go |

Two Nigerian Youngsters Making Waves At Manchester United Manchester United U23 youngsters Tosin Kehinde and Matthew Olosunde would yet face off against Chelsea U23s in their upcoming league fixture next time out, a game which would always throw up interesting caveats and trivias when many things are considered. For Kehinde, it would be good riddance that he would be making his 13th league appearance against the Blues, a fixture in which he scored his first goal of the season, a strike which proved crucial in securing a 2-2 draw and a nomination for Manchester United's Goal of the Month award. The 19-year old has since kicked on from there and even though his team has been under-performing, he could easily become the first Nigerian to feature for the Red Devils senior side. Scott Mc Tominay, Axel Tuanzebe, Joel Perreira and Angel Gomes have all made the jump to feature for the first team in recent times and with Jose Mourinho having shown faith by affording the Nigerian plausible training sessions with the first team, it could only be just a matter of time for Kehinde who has done so well in knuckling down and showing his potentials and not necessarily angling for senior team action or move elsewhere. Olosunde who has nine starts to his name has not done badly for himself too, having gone the distance in all but one of those. The only telling, tainting thing is their abysmal run of results which have seen them win just twice from a possible 16 while losing eight times, a simply appalling record-book which explains why they are bottom of their league table. While their outputs can well be stretched at any length, first team action could further harness their talents and they are well on that track, no doubt. It would only get better for these next generation of Nigerian starlets who had kept showing that their bests are yet to come. **Emmanuel Chinaza Source: http://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/read_news.php?nid=26507 Russia 2018 WC Countdown: 127 days to go 1 Like |

somehow: I wonder what it takes to get something officially recognized. We should make Naija official because it actually comes from us, Nigeria was coined by some dead white lady if we are being honest. 5 Likes 1 Share |

zicky: Age is not about what you say, but what you can prove. Yakubu is older than Yobo he actually played for Juluis Berger at 14, he can prove it's therefore 100% True, I can not disprove it. Or you can look at general level of integrity across the board in Nigeria. And ask yourself the question in a society where our leaders who are representative of the people, what are thier attributes Honesty, Truth & Integrity Then consider a society where there is no AUTOMATIC CORROBORATED BIRTH DATA CAPTURE. Where age falsification is so easy and the gains so immense. What would prevent people from age falsification integrity Don't open this can of worms the topic is emotive and gets heated, I'm not sure why In my experience in packaging players to Europe age falsification is routine. European clubs are not exonerated because I can assure you they know but do not care. As long as you can officially substantiate then it's proven. Done READY TO DEAL because there is more money to be made. Finally it's not unique to Nigeria AT ALL. Admittedly mostly third world countries. In the context of Nigeria it's like saying not all police do not take bribe. Or there is no rigging of election because nobody has been convicted for election rigging. So therefore it's not happening. And yes there may be policemen who don't take Bribe. We just find it hard to believe from experience. |

He's young, has potential they share very similar style of play and it's like saying osinmeh is a young drogba, and it's not far fetched, they actually share similar style. He played one full game and you sound like you are angry people are praising him for getting his full 90min debut. nawa for this ur hate ooh. Since a lot of people think the white jersey is bad luck they've mostly gotten rid of it. It's unique but I have to admit that I prefer the dark green to the other one. |
