My broilers are 7days old.... But I've noticed a loss of feather what could be the cause.. However they are eating well

Loss of feather is normal, they will still grow back

Loss of feather is a good thing. It’s more flesh/weight against very little feather. What hatchery were they gotten from? They look good.

they look healthy pls change their bed

What feed and feed type (starter, finisher, superstarter) are you using?
Loss of feather at that age is sign of low crude protein.

@abeyjide, Weldon, pls can u give details on how u reared ur birds from dayold, in terms of d feeding régime , medications or supplement used, d lighting e.tc, pls mid it, cos I got Zartech dis DEC , but attained DAT weight at 4mths, love to try it dis Easter. Thanks

1st day- glucose
From day 2 - antibiotics for 5 days
Have to use the normal vaccines
I used chikun feed starter mixed with lime stone (5weeks)
Lighting from day 1 to 5th week ( I do give them half of quantity of feed consumed in the day for night feeding from5th week to 7th week.
Vitamin (maxiyield)from day 8 up untill 5th week ( excluding when to use Anti coxi
From 6th week animal care contrate with maize and wheat

I used this method for 9weeks old broilers.

What's the problem? Any drugs administered?

Vitamins day 1 Antibiotics till day 5 Gumboro on 8th day Vitamins 9th to 11th day. I noticed the birds were extremely small in size when collected at Day1

Anticoccidiosis was given on the 3rd,4th and 5th. That's why I'm surprised. still lost two yesterday.

Wait till the 3rd week of february before you stock it. If you consider the rate at which u will sell it then you wouldn't like stocking it now.

That should be 10-12 weeks. but I'll prefer 10 weeks

I don't think is up to that cos easter is April 1 which is 5 wks from February third wk that's making it a total of 8wks

Thought easter would be around 3rd week of April and even at that, a 8 weeks old broiler should 2.5kg and above

This year easter is earlier and remember during festivities size matters slot so if u have weight without size it's not the best but if u have good weight and size then ur good to go

Yes but you should be aware that there is a limit to what the buyer can pay no matter the size
