Not that I like the Jersey but there's nothing that cannot be changed. No condition is permanent. I read one time about the history of the England football kit. They've changed several times. Even Brazil in 2002 changed. There's nothing sacrosanct about home or away color to the extent they can't be changed

there is something called culture. Yes sociology teaches that culture is dynamic but there are some parts of it that should not be touched. After running around, Brazil finally came back to their old jersey and although 4th place isn't really outstanding for them at a world cup but hey, it was way more than they used to get in other years. Portugal won't go from wearing dark red to wearing.....eh.....peach, it does not work that way. This thing we are wearing isnt even green, as a male I am color blind but I do know that the name of this color isn't even green

TheSuperNerd:
Nike reveal dazzling new Nigeria kits for World Cup campaign

Sports manufacturers Nike have revealed the new Nigeria kits ahead of the Super Eagles' World Cup campaign.
Nike Football shared a video on their official YouTube channel which reveals several of the national team's key men catching a first glimpse of the team's new attire.

In the 1 minute 20 second clip, Wilfred Ndidi, John Obi Mikel, Alex Iwobi and Kelechi Iheanacho are shown giving their verdict on what is a dazzling offering from Nike.

"I can see the players going crazy over this one," Mikel said when he was shown the national side's home shirt, in Nigeria's famous dark green with an eye-catching neon logo.

The away kit, a neon and white retro design on the body, and dark green chevrons on a white background on the arms, received a more muted response.

"This is different, you know," Iwobi added, somewhat diplomatically, while Ndidi was a little more enthusiastic, claiming he just "couldn't wait" to get the kit on in Russia this summer.

Despite the mixed reaction, the kit's similarity to the iconic shirts worn by the nation's Golden Generation in their maiden World Cup campaign in the United States in 1994 should earn it major points for nostalgia among Super Eagles supporters.

"A constant in Nigeria is an endearing love of football," NFF President Amaju Pinnick, told Nike's official website. "When football is on, everything stops. The new Nike kit designs honour our federation's rich traditions. Moreover, they celebrate everything we relish about our culture."

"It's nice, it's cultural," says Wilfred Ndidi...somewhat unconvincingly.#Naija #soarsupereagles pic.twitter.com/ZMd3i9f9Tj - Ed Dove (@EddyDove) February 7, 2018

"With Nigeria, we wanted to tap into the attitude of the nation," added Dan Farron, Nike Football Design Director.
"We built this kit and collection based on the players' full identities.
"We started to see trends in attitude and energy connecting the athletes to music, fashion and more. They are part of a resoundingly cool culture."

According to the New Telegraph Online, Nike presented the kits to the Nigeria Football Federation at a ceremony in London on Wednesday.

Nigeria are using Nike as their kit manufacturer after having been fitted by Adidas for their last two World Cup campaigns - in 2010 and 2014.

They will wear the shirts for the first time on March 23 when they face Poland in a friendly in Warsaw.
Nigeria have been pitted against Croatia, Iceland and Argentina in World Cup Group D.

And globally culture is changing Bro. Even the very football itself has changed and is changing. We are not wearing purple and crimson na. Just a shade of green on white with wave like designs and the other is deep green. Not so drastic in my opinion.

Thank you my brother.

That Jersey is too flamboyant IMO.

It might be appealing to a certain group of people (the younger generation especially).

The jerseys are fine but that one that has a combo with white is too flamboyant. My opinion. It cannot change anything but that is how I see it.

lol what's so special about the 94 kits that you so much love it and want a repeat?
Just brings back memories of the set of Eagles that played the best football. moreover the design is more adventurous and daring, much better than the all-green we've been wearing since then

For 94, the home Jersey was the plain green with that design just above the chest region. (The one Okocha is wearing in the pix below)

This new jersey looks more like the ones the Flying Eagles wore at the 1995 AYC and the Super Eagles wore it against England in a friendly that same year(see the pix below). But the green was plain green. That design was only at the shoulder region.

Please observe the green in both jerseys below

This years World Cup jersey the general theme was on throwbacks. Expect to see a lot of polished, swaggalized old World Cup jerseys by all countries. Lovely concept. Beautiful Nigerian jersey, hope that could serve as a little mentality boost for we boys. They have to surpass the last achievements our legends created with that jersey that always instilled fear in our opponents.

I was already quoting you when I saw this...
The jersey we wore in 1994 is replica of this one especially the one iwobi wore ...
Is that not home jersey

2. The one we wore in 1995 against england is it home jersey or away jersey?

How is the one Iwobi wearing a replica of the 94 jerseys?

And for the 95 England game, England was home so they chose their white on Navy blue Jersey. It means Nigeria had to wear the green top. Now, but the then minister of sports had earlier complained about that Nigerian Jersey when the Flying Eagles wore it at the 1995 AYC. The green of the short was too dark. So the Eagles opted to wearring the white shorts under the Green Jerseys in the England match.Besides, the English (home team) had dark blue shorts so we cannot wear dark green shorts.

The shorts of the away jersey in USA 94 has the same green as the jersey worn by Iwobi.

I love how NFF involved the omidiji's in this ceremony. it will have made more sense to involve other Nigerian upcoming footballers too. especially those in in the U20 category hoping to represent Nigeria.

At USA 94, It was Bulgaria vs Nigeria. So Bulgaria had the preference of choosing their home Jersey which is Red on white. Nigeria's away Jersey was white on white and because Bulgaria were wearing White shorts we had to wear the green shorts with the White (away) top

Kind look alike though.. Only change was the substitute of green shirt to white and that of he short too

We can keep on having thesame thing over and over again... Just kind bother about the away Jersey

And if you check it well.. Nike has been introducing this kind of shade green since our qualifiers but nobody talk...

Yea I did Oga!! Please go watch that game against hannover..his attributes is moving in that direction...I just wish his coach would be able to trust him and play him..

I know Liverpool inserted a clause in Origi's loan that he must play at least 80% of their games( I stand to be corrected)..so I understand why origi would always bench osimhen..contractual agreements need to be respected..

One thing I know for sure, if Osimhen can keep duplicating that kind of form, it won't be long b4 he starts banging goals in the bundesliga..

I am watching the game against Schalke he is on the bench.

So you think he is better than Origi And that Wolfsburg are being unfair to him One game doesn't make a player, it's consistent continous top class performances that get you noticed.

When watching the game do not look at your player alone but in comparison to other players to measure his performance. That's called having a balanced objective view some here call that being biased against our players.
