Shout out to Imo Air, Heartland FC have not lost an away match this season. Coincidence?

They defeated Niger Tornadoes today 1-2

Guys bearing in mind these Pinnick Jerseys, let's say fast forward into a possible second round meeting between France and Nigeria. If France finishes first and we finish second it means it would be France Vs Nigeria.

So France will have the advantage of choosing their home jersey which is Deep blue on white. What will Nigeria were in that game?

The first choice jerseys in that instance should be our away jersey. But France are wearing a dark blue top so we cannot wear our dark green top (consideration is usually made for people with colour blindness). But also the other top is green but a lighter green with white design so that can pass. But again, France are wearing a white short. It then means we will wear the top of that Home jersey and the dark short of that away jersey. Just imagine how the combo would look like.
Hahaha

With this our new kit, i think our first match against Croatia, we'll be wearing the deep green because i don't think we can wear white shots with Croatia since their home Jersey also have white shots.

What about this...

Which one is home and which is away?

The one Mutiu and Okocha are wearing is the home while one Amokachi is wearing is the away.

You understand. Because it is Croatia Vs Nigeria. Their home Jersey is the Red and white design (draft) top and white shorts. So we will have to wear the deep green up and down.

Now you are beginning to see why I said Pinnick doesn't know what he is doing. How can he change our away jersey to deep green?

All in the name of fashion

That cannot be our home green because it is not our colour. I mean how can this be our home green Jersey?

So as not to cause offence, what do you mean by the Sky is the limit?

Over the years I have seen promising players at top academies, who promised but never delivered. Every now and again you see a player and you go YES.

Like the first time I saw Rooney play and even before he had his debut. Nigerian players in Everton had told me this small boy deh use us play. Then o knew the Sky was the limit for him.

First time I saw Pogba as an U18 player I knew then this guy was QUALITY. I could go on and on. But you must now be able get my approach. And as such understand my question in context.

So I look at players in comparison to what other players are doing. I can also be very wrong too. I remember first time I met Raheem, ( very respectful boy) I thought he can't make it in English football. We use the same barber and his feet could not touch the ground he was that short and far from muscular. But I was totally wrong.

That's football.

The young man has proven to me that he will always step his game up and never be satisfied. His hard working nature is what sets him apart from the pack, his coaches always rave about that. He has the physic needed to make it and it is just a matter of him following this trajectory and he will make the top. He can be a real aerial threat, in his last match he won more duels in the air than all but one player. If he stays healthy I expect him to be a big player for Nigeria in the future.

Well.... To be fair, the video showed Mikel, and the other three young Eagles absolutely loving the deep green home jersey.

But when the light green/white combo away jersey was unveiled, they kinda took things diplomatically and Iwobi said, "Weelll uhmmmm, this is different."

Ndidi said it was nice and cultural (referring to the away jersey of light green/white combo) and said he cannot wait to dorn both jerseys at the WC.

Chief Icon4s, Green is our color. Be it lemon green, Golden Green, Deep/dark green, light green, normal green or so.

Green is one of our major national color symbols. Look at the color of our vegetation and agricultural lands and tell me the dominant color. Is it just Light green? wink

I think this deep shade of green brings out a unique deeper side to our personality and reputation as a football nation. Deep green is among the colors of our vegetation and grasslands and I believe the depth of this green on our home jersey is to bring out symbolically the deep limitless richness of our football culture and our country's agricultural inclinations.

It is just the way I see it... Maybe Pinnick got his own explanation. Lol wink! You may never know...

I think we will be wearing the dark green kit more often cus a lot of teams use white..

seriously, the Jersey looks cool but it would have been better if we had maintained the traditional green colour..
Now a lot of people (including non Nigerians) who didn't follow d unveiling will be confused when we show up in the kits against Poland next month....

FIFA has a way to sort this out IF at all it happens as you have assumed. I don't think it's an issue.

Uhmmmm.... Are you sure the deep green is pur away jersey? wink It is customary to unveil the home jersey before the away jersey... Or am I missing something? *scratches head*

And no matter the confusion on which is home or away, the point remains that both still represent our national colors only in different shades or different color thickness/intensities.

The Light green/White combo is an attempt to connect our Russia bound Eagles to the Spirit of '94- our first golden generation.

The deep green is an attempt to bring out our deeper personalities and limitless deep qualities and showcase it on the world stage. It is all symbolic and I think the choices made are okay to me.

Of course there would always be a away out.
But know that one of the outcomes would be to compromise on your desired color or Jersey combo.

Now if you say that is not an issue, why is the unveiling of the jerseys an issue in the first place?

We should have just waited till the Poland friendly and say "ow so these are the new Jerseys"?

Divided opinions on here as regards our newly unveiled kit. Meanwhile, The Mirror(UK) say we have the best kit out of the 20 nations that have done their kit unveiling. We Nigerians don't value what we have. Whether we dorn the dark green cameroun-like jersey or the light green jersey, provided we qualify from our group and progress past the round of 16, I'm just cool. The kits look adorable nonetheless.

You're a liar if you say you hate this kit tongue

That light green and white combo is no where close to the design of the 1994 WC. Instead it is closer to the one the Flying Eagles used at the 1995 AYC and the one Nigeria used against England at Wembley in 1995.
