You can see that even you are confused on which is the home and away jersey. How can home and away jerseys be green(different shades of green). I wouldn't be surprised to hear that FIFA didn't approve of it.

Not usually my style to quote the same post twice but.... grin

Like seriously Chief? Fifa will not approve of our designs? One is clearly deep green and the other is clearly lighter with a mix of white and light green...

Clearly FIFA won't hace a problem with our jerseys now, would they? Lolll... This is funny. Why do these jerseys get you so worried Chief? cheesy

Come on... Take a really good long look at them again oooo... Loolll

They were not trying to copy detail for detail Chief Icon4s... When I mention '94 Eagles, I refer mainly to the 90s..... I refer to the era of the first Golden Generation. It surely is not restricted to just 94... I use '94 because that is like the centre of what that era in the 90s epitomised.

Take a look at the '94 jersey (the white) and '95 Jersey (vs England) again... And you will see that different little elements were brought out of both and merged into this one model that we have as the light green/white combo... That is what I mean.

Pinnick is trying to connect the present young Generation of the Super Eagles to the Spirit of the first Golden era. That is my whole point.

Icon4s:

That light green and white combo is no where close to the design of the 1994 WC. Instead it is closer to the one the Flying Eagles used at the 1995 AYC and the one Nigeria used against England at Wembley.

Exactly. He's being quite consistent for his age.

But the Ghost of his performance at the 2002 WC may come back to hunt him

Initially I was put off by the Jersies when I saw them posted on a WhatsApp group and the pictures shown looked flaccid. But when I saw iwobi's action pics and the deep green on Mikel I think the Jersey is okay even though they could perhaps have done better. But it's jazzed up. Not boring, plain plain like before.

Of course there would always be a away out.
But know that one of the outcomes would be to compromise on your desired color or Jersey combo.

Now if you say that is not an issue, why is the unveiling of the jerseys an issue in the first place?

We should have just waited till the Poland friendly and say "ow so these are the new Jerseys"?

There's no relationship between what Jersey combination to wear at the WC and unveiling the Jersies today rather than in the friendly against Poland. I don't get your drift Sire. Unveiling it now is more of a publicity and marketing drive so that fans can buy it and . It's even the nff marketing department that was involved in the unveiling ceremony today

Watched the game Schalke vs Wolfsburg to see the potential new striker for Nigeria.

Firstly, these two teams will struggle against mid range Championship teams. That's my as some would call it English game biased opinion. The game lacked intensity and outright pace.

Osimhen came on for 10 minutes could not do anything outstanding in such little time, that's the excuse I make for him.

I will be watching Liepzig vs Augsburg on Friday evening. I expect Lookman to be outstanding in this league. That's again my biased English football based opinion.

So far, there has been a lot of mixed reactions regarding our world cup kit..
Most people seem to love the green kit better than the white stripped one.. But the unique design of the white stripped kit is what's making it loved more....

Anyway,Anyhow, let's wait and see the boys in action with the kits...

I seriously can't wait!

Hahaha dey there. In 2006 AFCON Ghana was forced by CAF to change their jerseys in their last group game, I have forgotten the opponent. Their two Jersey options clashed with both options of their opponents who were the home team in the fixture. They had to quickly organize an all black Jersey for that game.

The Jerseys are beautiful to the eyes. I only have issues with (1) the shades of green and (2) fact that the two options are both green. I hope we will not be forced to look for another Jersey to play an opponent just like the Ghana case. That is what I mean by FIFA not approving.

It's all bit basic for us(Image: Adidas)
The hosts could have gone for something daring, special and memorable for their time in the spotlight in the summer.

Instead they've just done what they always do.

I think if there was a third jersey, everything would be solved, but then what colour would the 3rd jersey be then after designing the home jersey light green and white and the away deep green. maybe an all white 3rd kit will do and I'm sure they would v prepared something like that cuz imagine we r to face Mexico in their own green, what are we to wear if not white?

Mek march do quick come. Poland have white as their home kit so we're apparently going to dorn the dark green kit. Our boys dorning the dark green jersey with their quick and counter attacking style of play makes that a match made in heaven cheesy. Already relishing the trio of Iwobi-Moses-Ihenacho running riot against the polish defence. Someone please tell me it's far away

And while you're there, pick up this frankly glorious effort from Nigeria that comes out as a deserving No. 1.

It's incredible, frankly, and is bound to turn us all into Super Eagles in the summer.

Guys bearing in mind these Pinnick Jerseys, let's say fast forward into a possible second round meeting between France and Nigeria. If France finishes first and we finish second it means it would be France Vs Nigeria.

So France will have the advantage of choosing their home jersey which is Deep blue on white. What will Nigeria were in that game?

The first choice jerseys in that instance should be our away jersey. But France are wearing a dark blue top so we cannot wear our dark green top (consideration is usually made for people with colour blindness). But also the other top is green but a lighter green with white design so that can pass. But again, France are wearing a white short. It then means we will wear the top of that Home jersey and the dark short of that away jersey. Just imagine how the combo would look like.
Hahaha

That's wrong bro. Nike already has light green shorts reserved in case such scenario occurs.

You just they twist your words dey go. I just dey look you. Do you know how many jerseys we used in the 1990 to 95 era? If you are referring to the 1994 Jersey just stick to it. If it the 1992 or 95 jersey, just stick to it.

After all I dey my own dey think about our next Flying Eagles, na you come say make come talk about Jersey.

I was not so eager to see the new Jerseys in the first place.

Okay then, I sew your point. But I don't think there is cause for any alarm. We have an all green don't we? Looolll... Yeah, we don't have an all-white but our all deep green covers in the sense that even if we take on a mexico (with their green or white), our deep green will still serve nicely.

Honestly Chief... I think you are just over thinking things and scenarios here... Just try to relax and enjoy the new jersey. March will be here soon and we will see our boys.. Sorry our "men" in them... wink I don't think we have anything to worry about as regards this jersey clash stuff.

Alot went into the making of the Jersies and sure what you just said must be one of those things. Another thing is visibility. Rohr complained one time about the poor visibility of our green Jersey. I think that's why they are opting for the dark shades. They used the Algeria and Argentina match to test them.
