There was no WC in 1991/92. So in Europe, which other country wore a colour close to that England away jersey?

I am saying that it was a unique design different from the regular design.

Notice the wide range of red for Portugal

Portugal 1966 WC

Portugal 1986 WC

Portugal 2002

Portugal 2010

Portugal 2014

But did they use another shade of red for the corresponding away jerseys?

This is for those complaining that it is not Nigeria's green.

The uniqueness in the design IMO is not a major issue here.

Making Green both home and away color is a major issue.

One is very dark and the other is bright.

Lets say, we play mexico. They wear their dark green Jerseys and we wear the Jersey with the light green and white shots. It is clearly distinguishable.

Of course Nigeria has always used different shades of green. However, since after the 2002 WC were we used a lemon Jersey (of which it was widely criticised, even the international press) we have always tried to use jerseys close as much as possible to our national green. The last WC Jersey was a kinda a little away from our national green of which some people also criticised it.

I am not sure, but I don't think FIFA allows two countries to wear the same color of jerseys even if they are of different shades. I think they must be different colours. I have never seen in my entire life any FIFA or CAF game where two different countries wear different shades of one color in a game.

That kit Iwobi wore should have been predominantly white and be made the away jersey. And the dark green jersey should have been lightened up a bit and made the home jersey.

Modified: Alternatively, they should have done a green short for the one Iwobi is wearing( same green with the top) and then make the dark green plain white. With this we can still combine the Bright green with a white short(if we so wish) the way Iwobi is wearing it an still have our traditional all white away jerseys. Which is safer for us.

Several countries also stray from the shade of their national flag. I do not see it as a big deal.. Only few countries like Italy are very strict on their shade of blue.. France has worn all kinds of blue.

Sure I know. It cannot change but you don't expect critics to keep mute.

I have made my points clear. It cannot change anything for this particular one but possibly for future ones.

We are glad that you can at least accept you are English football biased!! Even thou it may be sarcastic..more kudos to your elbow sir..
Na now you dey know say him dey bias?Lookman, Josh Maja, Seyi Ojo, Tammy Abraham are the best thing so far(players who are for now not even regarded as Nigerians as far as their football nationality is concerned). Osimhen is no good. Shey you saw how he expressed hope and positive expectation on Lookman. But for Osimhen it's deep skepticism. Bro rest yourself. Just hope Osimhen proves his doubters wrong.

All Manufacturers have to follow certain FIFA rules and FIFA requires manufacturers to submit all designs one year in advance. So it must have been approved by FIFA.

Sure enough Nike worked on the functionality of the Jersey. Vapor knitting is the technology.

The beauty of life: while some are saying No, others are saying Yes.

Maybe
It has a zipper maybe when playing in cold region. It looks more of a jersey to me than an accessory.

I am talking about FIFA organized competitions. Even in those European leagues it is very rare.

Clubs as much as possible try to vary the colors they use in playing against each other. Even down to stockings level.

Onyekuru Voted 2017 Most Promising Player In Belgium

Super Eagles forward Henry Onyekuru has been named the Most Promising Player of the Year at the 2017 Soulier d’Or awards in Belgium, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
The Soulier d’Or or Belgian Golden Shoe is an award given in Belgium at the beginning of each year to the best footballer of the Belgian First Division for the past year. The trophy is sponsored by the Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws.

Onyekuru who is currently recuperating from a knee injury he sustained in December won the award ahead of Mechelen’s Hassan Bandé and Landry Dimata.

The former Aspire Academy player polled 219 votes while Bande and Dimata recorded 162 and 128 votes respectively.
The Nigerian international, 20, was a revelation playing for KAS Eupen in the Belgian top flight before he was signed by Everton and loaned out to Anderlecht immediately last summer.

He scored 22 goals for Eupen last season and has added nine goals in 19 Belgian top flight appearances for Anderlecht until his injury.

Anderlecht also posted a congratulatory message via their Twitter handle to the forward on the award.

“Congratulations @henryconyekuru on winning the Promising Player of the Year award!”

Meanwhile, three other Nigerian players Uche Agbo (Standard Liege), Samuel Kalu (Gent) and Taiwo Awoniyi (Royal Excel Mouscron) were also named in shortlist for the most Promising Player of the Year at the 2017 Soulier d’Or awards.

Agbo finished 13th in the poll with 25 votes while Kalu and Awoniyi in 17th and 23rd position earned 17 and three votes respectively.
