komekn:

Ademola Lookman 20 yrs old, born in small Lagos (Peckham) started playing in the Championship at 17. Has had 74 senior games in the English league system, 15 in the EPL. Everton paid £11million. position Forward Winger.

Seyi Ojo born in London 20 years old. Played 61 senior professional games predominantly in the championship with 13 for Liverpool. Valued at over £15million. Position Forward left sided Winger.

Victor Osimhen born in Lagos,Nigeria, 19 years old, played 9 games for Wolfsburg. Valuation too early to state.

Will not talk about Tega and I criticised the call for Josh Maja hasn't done anything to merit a call for the SE so far beyond playing a handful of games for Sunderland.

So considering the pedigree of Ademola and Seyi is there any basis to compare them to Osimhen. In that regard as it stands is it wrong to have greater expectation on the players who have shown so much more ability I am not talking about speculative promise but actual performances.

Finally, you have assumed bias and prejudice that's why you jumped to a negative deduction without any iota of basis beyond your own self judgement. I expressed neither expectation or skepticism just hope.

So in this regard who is being negative

I don't know what your arguement is all about, but seyi ojo can't make super eagles team, they are better players than him

There is nothing like proving his doubters wrong. No automatic spot for him in the national team. Let's see him play and score goals. Or is that not the yardstick for selecting strikers? If he is a special talent then he should start by showing that at his club.

Of course I totally agree with you, no automatic spot for him..he needs to perform at club level to get national call-ups..

The only thing I pointed out was his obvious talent and how some monikers unfairly rubbish him...he is a truly talented lad and I hope his coaches give him the games he needs to succeed and prove his doubters wrong once and for all..

They shouldn't endorse it. VAR kills the vibes in matches by unnecessary pauses that spoil the fun of the game... But on a second thought, i think it would wipe away injustice and biased officiating targeted mostly on African teams.

Truly when I wrote that he should prove his doubters wrong Super Eagles did not even cross my mind cos after the SA match I have not uttered peep like Osimhen should be invited to the SE. I was just thinking generally about the young man living up to his potentials. Cos for Lookman and other innit boys hope is being expressed notwithstanding the fact that they might not feature for the SE. SE was not in my thoughts at all

LaLiga Side Villarreal Denies Interest In “Controversial ” CHAN Eagles Forward Peter Eneji

Plateau United and Super Eagles B forward Peter Eneji is not on the radar of LaLiga side Villarreal according to a trusted source in Spain.

Reacting to a mail from Owngoalnigeria.com on the reported interest of the LaLiga side in the service of the forward whose inclusion in the Nigerian team to the recently concluded CHAN Championship in Morocco generated controversies. The source said the reports were wide off the mark.

Eneji went to the Championship injured and despite not playing a minute of active football for one month, the forward was surprisingly handed a start in the final game by coach Salisu Yusuf, and the move backfired spectacularly as he was sent off after picking up two bookings.

Nigeria slumped to an embarrassing 0-4 loss against the host, and Eneji was reported to be close to sealing a move to Villarreal before the final game which didn’t go too well for him and the Nigerian team.

” Villarreal are not interested in signing him from my checks at the club. Their (Villarreal) scout was in Ghana for the WAFU Championship, where I reliably gathered that Eneji did well, but at the moment they are not interested in him”, he told Owngoalnigeria.com.

Hattrick For Reserve Team, Goal & Assist For Main Team – Roma Sadiq Umar Is On Fire At NAC Breda

On loan Roma forward Sadiq Umar says he is slowly getting back to the form that made him a super hit at Rio 2016 Olympic with Nigeria following his breakthrough season with Roma.
Since finishing as top scorer for Nigeria men soccer team at the Olympic, the form of the 21 year old has nosedived and despite loan spells with Bologna and Torino he didn’t experience the expected upturn in his form.

However it appears like he is slowly getting back to full sharpness after dazzling for his present loan team NAC Breda with a hattrick for the reserve team, and a goal and assist for the main team all within a space of 24 hours.

Shortly after the Eredivisie game against Heracles yesterday, the forward who is nicknamed Jololo by close friends and associate told Owngoalnigeria.com that he is slowly getting back to his best form.

” I can feel it in my body. I’m in my best physical shape over the past two years. The aim is to get back to the form I showed for Nigeria at the Olympics and at Roma”, he told Owngoalnigeria.com.

” Although I’m not the type who sets goal target, I am however confident that I will score goals for NAC Breda. The goals will flow I can feel it”, he concluded.

Leon Balogun Fitness Issues Puts CHAN Eagles Star Stephen Eze In Super Eagles Frame

Lokomotiv Plovdiv of Bulgaria bound Nigerian defender Stephen Eze is in line for a call up to the squad of the Super Eagles for their upcoming friendly games in March.
Coach Gernot Rohr is worried over the fitness of star defender Leon Balogun, who has been limited to just seven games in the German Bundesliga this season due to injury and fitness issues.

Rohr was impressed with the performance of Eze, and he sees the defender who will move to Bulgaria in few weeks time as a replacement for Balogun in the heart of the Super Eagles defence.

However, Eze will be closely monitored in Bulgaria before a decision on his inclusion in the squad for the friendly games in March will be made official by Rohr, who has tracked his progress since watching him during the CHAN Qualifiers clash against Benin Republic.
Eze stands at almost same height as Balogun, and just like the Mainz 05 defender his abilities to read and intercept play during the games of the CHAN Championship, caught the attention of Rohr despite the 0-4 thrashing Nigeria suffered in the hands of Morocco in the final.

Ebuehi Helps Den Haag End Winless Run With Win Vs Vitesse
By James Agberebi

Nigeria defender Tyronne Ebuehi was in action for ADO Den Haag who ended their three-match winless run with a hard-fought 1-0 win against Vitesse in the Dutch Eredivisie on Thursday night.
Prior to the match against Vitesse, ADO Den Haag last won a league game back in December 22, a 4-0 home victory against PEC Zwolle.
Following the resumption of the second half of the league on January 16, ADO Den Haag had secured two draws and a loss.

In the game against Vitesse on Thursday, Sheraldo Becker scored the only goal in the 53rd minute to give ADO Den Haag the win.
The win took ADO Den Haag to the eighth position on 31 points in the 18-team league table.
Ebuehi has now made 22 league appearances for ADO Den Haag so far this season.

Joel Obi Declares Self Fit For Udinese Clash
By Adeboye Amosu

Nigerian midfielder Joel Obi has declared himself fit for Torino’s Italian Serie A clash against Udinese at the Stade Olimpico on Sunday after picking an injury in their last game against Sampdoria, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Obi was substituted in 37th minute of the encounter following a knock on his leg with Cristiano Ansaldi coming on for him.

“I took a strong blow and I had to go out against Sampdoria. I’m sorry that the referee did not intervene, at that time Bereszyński could never take the ball, that hurt me and I could not continue the game,” Obi told Toronews.net.

“Now I’m much better, this morning I came back with the team and I hope to recover for Sunday. I immediately returned with the group, I’m fine.”
The former Inter Milan player also reflected on the game against Sampdoria and tasked his teammates to do more on the field.

“Yes, against Sampdoria we interpreted well what the coach asked us, this gives us the awareness that we are strong and that we can always win,” Obi added.
“We are convinced that we are strong, we just have to do what the coach tells us and the results will come: we have to give more and more. As a group we are mature enough to understand what the coach asks and put it on the field, and this is an important weapon.”
He also emphasized on the importance of getting a win against Udinese.

“Surely the match against Udinese is the most important for us now. We have the same points in the standings and we must try to win this game too if we want to continue our journey up in the table,” Joel Obi said.

“They are in good shape, they play good football. We must be good and be careful. Now we should try to win as much as possible, starting with this match against Udinese.”

Watford Loanee Isaac Success Says He's Not New To Battling Relegation

Watford loanee Isaac Success was unveiled by Malaga at La Rosaleda on Thursday, three days after he made his debut for the Andalusian club against Las Palmas.
After 22 games, there are seven points between Malaga, who are bottom of the table, and 17th-place Levante, but the Nigeria international has declared that he's not new to La Liga relegation battle and remains hopeful that Malaga will escape relegation at the end of the season.

Success spent two full seasons with Granada's first team and they managed to beat the drop on each occasion despite flirting with relegation for the majority of the season.

''I’m here to make the most of this opportunity. The most important thing is to help the team, and if I do well it’s also good for the team,'' said Isaac Success to Malaga's official website.

''Everyone wants to remain in the First Division, and if we achieve salvation, it’ll be good for me and all the players.''

The Malaga number seventeen added : ''I experienced a similar situation in Granada. The first thing is to trust, to grow every day as a team, because there’s no rival that we cannot defeat.
''We need to grow and become stronger, which we’ll achieve with victories. It would help us to believe in what we can achieve.''
Success, who is the youngest Nigerian player to debut in the Spanish top-flight, made his 50th appearance in the division when he came off the bench in the 78th minute against Las Palmas.
