johnok: Target very much intact my dear. ...I still hold about 10% of the SKYE from my initial buy @ 0.50k ...I sold down my holding from Fridays purchase of 0.97k today on seen that this strategy fits the current market dynamics. That said, I could also consider re-entry tomorrow or the day after it. My target is just to have as many vol of the SKYE as possible before the SKYE REVELATION. For unless we hear something different, the future yield/return here remains SKY high. ...at the moment, we just want to dance to the tune of the melody in the NSE room. Btw, I am still very much in the CAVERTON airline. ...we remain unshakable here. ...for the Idea is to give Mr TIME just a little bit of time. #BELIEVE DD always advised pls. |

Herdsmen have invaded NSE. Killing and maiming any stock in sight. With the way market closed today, selling pressure may continue. Let's see how events proceed from this point. I see another opportunity though. 2 Likes |

Dear Client/Reader, Global Economy - Movements in global equities markets were broadly bearish, with performance influenced by investors jittery about interest rate rises sending yields to multi-year highs, macroeconomic data, slump in oil prices on the back of a surge in US output amid volatilities in currencies. In the U.S., Trading activities largely reflected investors’ reaction to (1) Rise in treasury yields as 10-year Treasuries hit a four-year high (2) Strong job report which supports optimism among Federal Reserve officials that inflation will increase toward the U.S. central bank's 2 percent target this year. Overall, the DJIA and S&P depreciated by 5.21% W-o-W and 5.16% W-o-W to close at 24,190.90 pts and 2,619.55 pts respectively. Equities Market- The equities market had its fair share of the rout in global stock markets, as investors’ appetite for bellwether stocks waned. The NSE ASI appreciated by 3.39% w/w as it closed at 43,127.92 points, equating to MtD and YtD returns of -2.74% and 12.77% respectively. The current low valuations of stocks still provide good buying opportunities in the market. Some of our recommended stocks are mentioned below; UCAP- UCAP reported its 9M-2017 result where gross earnings grew by 10% y/y to N6.2 bn from N5.7 bn in 9M’16, supported by investment income which increased by 60%y/y to N1.09 bn from N688 mn in 9M’16. However, PAT declined by 30% y/y from N4.7 bn in 9M’2016 to N3.3 bn. We note that the lower than expected PAT was due to one-off gain from sale of investment in associate company in the prior year amounting to N1.53 bn. Consequently, EPS declined to N0.55 from N0.78 in 9M’16. However, adjusting the 9M’16 EPS for the one-off gain, it results in EPS of N0.53. The company has a good dividend policy as FY’16 dividend payout ratio stood at 43% based on DPS N0.50. We forecast a FY’2017 DPS of N0.30 which translates to a dividend yield of 7% based on its current price of N4.30 (09/02/2018). With a fair value of N5.48, we recommend a “Buy”. DANGFLOUR - Dangflour maintained its momentum as its 9M’17 results showed a robust revenue growth of 101% y/y to N100 bn from N49.8 bn in 9M’16. Gross profit also grew significantly by 66% y/y. Although higher cost of sales which grew 115% y/y led to 5% decline in gross margin to 23% (9M’16-28%). This negative was more than offset by gains of N3.7 bn realized from the sale of assets. Consequently, EBIT grew remarkably to N19 bn from N4.7 bn. Profit before tax also spiked by 581% y/y as it stood at N18 billion compared to N2.6 billion recorded in 9M’16. EPS also grew to N2.55 in 9M’17 from N0.57 in 9M’16. We expect the moderation in the price of Flour (50kg) from N11,000 in Jan’17 to N9,600 in Jan’18 to drive topline growth in 2018. With a fair Value of N19.62, we recommend a “BUY”. Please find attached our Stock Recommendation for this week, ending 16th February, 2018. Thank you. 1 Like |

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by onegentleguy: 5:25pm On Feb 12, 2018 |
johnok: There shall be no such thing as a crash my dear !! It might interest u to know that the market is still outside the boundaries of a corrective mode. ...I have it said in the past here that a correction is a drawback of 10% or more. ...while a bear market is a drawback of 20% or more. ...so technically, we are still far away from a bear market. ...This is a fact. ...and so sincerely there's absolutely no need to panic. Here's my a suggestive take: If u are already in the market and ur loss position is no more than 25%, I'd strongly advise u HOLD and not sell out of panic. If however u wish to sell with the Idea of recouping losses then ensure that ur target re-entry stock is a 'new and better haven' with the fundermental ability to do so. ...In other words u sold down a less healthy coy to re-enter a more healthy one with the idea that the healthier coy will reverse faster to help u recoup ur losses and possibly revert back to gain. To illustrate; if the loss stock is one that is not likely to give any dividends and/or script issue, then u might want to re-allign ur portfolio with the stocks that will likely do so. ...I believe the likes of AFRIPRUD, UCAP, DANGOTE SUGAR, FLOUMILLS, DANGOTE FLOUR, CONOIL, CAVERTON, NASCON, ZENITH, FIDELITY, CAP, UACN, AND CCNN will most likely still give a good measure of return including every thing from either dividends, script issue and a better than expected result. ...either way one can always win. ...and so if u currently hold any of these coys, then DO NOTHING, but keep holding. ...for unless u exit out of panic now, u will most likely not sell at a loss later. For if u hold sound coys, then be sound at mind and never panic. ...otherwise u may wish to gradually re-align ur portfolio now as suggested herein. In all, both the bull and bear market can make one some money. Our sole objective should always be to win more and lose less. ....it's all about having ur own little strategy in place to beat whatever the market presents. NOTE: This is only a suggestion and not 'a definate investment advise'. ...u remain the CEO of ur portfolio. DD always advised pls. GOODLUCK to us all !! 3 Likes |
