Egun,

I watched the video and was quite revealing , I don't see reason why such technology cannot be deployed in the country to solve the housing gaps buy the local , state and federal government with different houses plans to accommodate all strata of people of the society

This benefits of this video after watching are numerous ,below are a few

1.Time savings in delivery time
2. No wastages (Agile management )
3.Huge cost savings at the long run based on economy of scale
4. Quality assurance
5.Elimination of middle men in the chain of supply

The list can go on and on, how I wish One can introduce this building style inhe country for personal estate development.

Many thanks for your contribution the property section

Thank you Sir, we’re all in this together.

The credit goes to the pros like Skimanski and others that have shown what’s possible. This gives people like me the confidence to dare to think about other things.

Even though I had already bought my plan which had a courtyard, I still had doubts that I could build it in Nigeria. Then I saw something similar that he built in Lagos and the die was cast.

If you have time please watch this Thailand house build, at least the beginning. I think it’s the way forward in Nigeria.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5EslFkHz0o

It perfectly lends itself to staged building.

1) Groundwork - grading the land
2) Foundation - 6” cement blocks, filled and columns
3) Roofing
4) German floor
5) Partition walls
6) Windows / Doors
7) Electrical / plumbing
cool Finishing

Thanks for your response, by road expense I presume you mean paying the truck man to and fro, if that's the case, one more thing, where do we come to, to load (location in Lagos) ❓ and let's seal the deal.

Yes it may look impossible but it is possible, i know of some areas in Edo State where getting underground water seems impossible and this only happens I'm sedimentary aspects of Edo State with thick Sandstone ; Area like Ekpoma - Iruekpe - Benin axis, Fuga Agenebode axis to mention few.

The reason why they don't have water is that Sandstone Is Poros and not permeable ; water can pass through it but cant store water. The water that pass through it can only be trapped if the sand has a bottom seal such as clay, shale, nonfractured bedrock, etc.

This problem is solvable if the driller can drill to end of the sandstone, and terminate at the beginning of the layer(shale or clay) below the sandstone. But this is great task and would incure a lot of money

If a thorough survey can be conducted to map the end of this Sandstone, and you follow the recommendation of the survey report, u would definitely get water.
It is actually Ekpoma sir

Haba no need again you have a solid footing already.

You can say that again. Solid foundation done by an excellent NL Engr. Would prefer to finish the project before displaying the processes and costs.

Good evening house, please I am trying to find out if it makes any economic and aesthetic sense to choose PVC (amoula to be precise) over POP considering the prices are almost the same.

Regards

Else, if you make changes along the way, some Nancy might go and dig up your old post grin

Go with POP. It’s rumored to be fire resistant at least and looks better.

Good luck on your project.

NO. Go for the POP. PVC is not to be compared to POP. I used Amoula in my BQ when POP cost was higher/gold... but my Main building now is POP.
Many advantages, especially when it comes to fire.

I don't think there's any solution to that. There's just no water.

Where I stayed in Abia, we didn't have water too so the village people construct underground water bunkers that save water during the rainy season and it lasts them all through the dry season.
There is virtually no place on earth you can get water (my opinion) what varies is depth, some depth are very deep and invariably hardly could individual afford such a borehole. I stand to be corrected

actually I don't need him. I handle my tenant the best way I can. I don't even argue over rent. Indeed it does involves crazy things which I don't want to be part of. The one I bought in DT I see 9MM penetrated through the window cheesy

Please go for POP. It's safer, more durable and look good aesthetically. I considered using Innoson for part of my project, but when I got a quote from them and compared it with the cost of doing POP, I had to beat a retreat. If you don't have all the fund at once, you can realise the project in bits. I have completed now almost 300 square meters

Are they made in Nigeria?

grin I don't care about such opinions. I can change whatever so long it's within the code. That why I chose to do some little things differently in my build. A very different different house from the norm.

Solid, compact and efficient (Engr's words)

Does it not make it easier, should the need arise in the future, to relocate doors/windows if needed or if circumstances demand so?

I have seen builders (including Skimanski) in his renovations create doors where there were no previous lintels. Though it demains expertise it's very much possible if needed in future. But the question is who changes doors in his personal building except during a massive renovation?
