How Nairaland's Akinphysicist, Lobbied Ambode To Make Yoruba Compulsory by GodIsBiafran: 10:52pm On Feb 12, 2018 |
About 2 or so years ago, Nairalander's most prominent Pan-Yorubanist and overall wicked man, Akinphysicist made a bet with me that within 2 - 5 years credit in Yoruba language will be required to attend Lagos state-owned tertiary institutions. Unfortunately, the mods closed that thread because, as with any thread Akinphysicist ventures into, it was filled with so many controversial backs and forth. When I read this thread today about Ambode signing that bill https://www.nairaland.com/4343341/yoruba-mandatory-admission-lagos-tertiary it confirmed what I have always suspected: which is that there are certain Yorubas on this forum who are very strategic and are just no here to blow hot smoke. Because of their education and money they are actually able to move lawmakers to change laws. I lament this because I wish my fellow Igbo forumites would also be this strategic. Instead, we spend most of our ranting without making any concrete moves. If one Yoruba guy based in the US, however wicked he might be, can predict what Lagos lawmakers will do 2 solid years in advance, why are we Igbos not making similar moves? The Yorubas are strategic and we are not. It is very sad! 10 Likes 5 Shares |

heheheehehehhe I warned you guys about Akinphysicist. I told you that there are certain people on NL that are not keyboard warriors. They are actually men of action. I still remember that thread when Akin-physicist said that he will do all in his power to make sure credit in Yoruba language is required to attend Lasgidi tertiary schools. I knew he was not joking because I have known this guy for years, but even I am shocked at the relative quickness the law was enacted. Keep calling Lagos no man's land - you will just continue to make active Yorubas like Akin more and more determined to stamp Yoruba culture even deeper into the Lagos consciousness. Abeg don't quote to talk rubbish. I am not Yoruba but unlike some of you I actually know who is who on this forum 37 Likes 6 Shares |

YungMillionaire: I also warned this yeeboos about Akin. You don't wanna piss off the wrong Yoruba man. Akin is one of those people that if he sets his mind on something, he will never stop until he accomplishes it. Keep calling Lagos no man's land - in the next 10 years dem go see some real serious changes 20 Likes 3 Shares

Mods abeg move this thread to front page - e go sweet die. OP I commend you for been one of those few Igbos who actually are students of reality. Your observation is top-notch. But contrary to what you believe Akin is not a wicked man. Its just that, if you declare war on a man you can complain if he decides to obliterate you with H-bomb. Na so e be 18 Likes 3 Shares |

YungMillionaire: YungMill - you and I will not agree on most things (because even though you are Itshekiri - you are far too pro Yoruba for my liking), however, I have to agree with you that my online Igbo keyboard warriors brought made all these possible. The way some of my fellow Igbos carry Lagos matter for head has become a huge source of embarrassment to the point that I can deal at all any more. 12 Likes 3 Shares |

GodIsBiafran: Ditto! The reason I am pro Yoruba is becos am Kiri. Any true Kiri who knows their history will automatically be pro Yoruba. This Lagos is a no man's land matter will not end well for Ibos in Lagos. Mark my words. I saw the writing on the wall about a year ago. I am almost sure this is just the beginning - the Yorubas are reminding noisy visitors who the real owners are. 32 Likes 5 Shares |

Ymill - abeg make I go sleep joor. This yeeboos are learners. Always have been. Always will be. In fact, I am willing to bet that Ambode reads NL forum sometimes. You think he has not seen all that 'Lagos is no man's land' nonsense? Common sense is not common. 16 Likes 2 Shares |

YungMillionaire: I remember am die. One idiotic ipob was saying igbos will soon be the language of proceedings in the Lagos state house of assembly. So, Akin said he will work very hard to make Yoruba a requirement for entrance in Lagos post secondaries within 3 years or so. If you see the way this Igbos were laughing and saying impossible, you would think, Lagos was in the heart of alaigbo 23 Likes 4 Shares |

Please no derailing of this thread. Its a call on all smart and proactive Igbos on NL to begin to make moves that will promote our interests anywhere in Nigeria UNTIL the zoo splits up. Its a call for action. Not a call for baseless and useless rantings. 4 Likes 2 Shares |

Mr. OP its not just Akin making moves. I have also made some phone calls to my reps. in Lasgidi calling for the relocation of certain markets. We will know if the no man's land they are shouting is located in the middle of the Lagoon or somewhere else in alaigbo. U na never see chumtin! 21 Likes 4 Shares |

And OP I disagree with you. Akin is not a wicked guy. He is just Machiavellian to the core. He comes off as xtremely competitive and willing to do almost anything to remove his competition. One reason, I worry that some1 like that will come back to 9ja and become a politician - he will be very deadly. But as long as he is serving Yoruba interests - more power to him. 23 Likes 3 Shares |

YungMillionaire: I don't remember the thread in question but Akin always comes off as some1 who is very organized and strategic. He has a way of drawing out info from people and using it against them. He is not some1 I want to have any disagreement with - as he does not believe in half measures. Trust me, I know people like that and dem plenty for Yorubaland. 14 Likes 4 Shares |

Emilokoiyawon: My guy, Akin no get joy o! I don't even think he is that much of a pan-Yorubanist. I think he is just one of those guys that if you dare him, he will above and beyond your level of dare. I remember when Ipob yoots thought they were experts in insults. So Akin took that shyte to the next level (God! those pics were disturbing). You are right, he is just very competitive and proactive. 7 Likes 1 Share |
