MODALSOUL1: Hard work and continuous/collective effort to develop the SE region. A lot of people tend to think that oil is everything, and it's not. If I have my way, I'd aggressively invest in Biogas, a green alternative to oil and gas that's aggressively gaining ground in advanced countries. It's only a matter of time before the golden child called oil is relegated to the background. 1 Like |

MODALSOUL1: Don't you consider it pointless that you're asking questions and answering it all by yourself? That's a sign of being kuku.. As you can see, it's pointless for me to create a thread seeking suggestions or asking questions and answering the damn thing myself. |

We should be discussing of trying our best to reduce size of cities by creating estate development limits for forest reservation. I disagree with turning everywhere to cities. |

MODALSOUL1: And you think cities are not in states? Or you think mega cities are in one state only? Don't be an idiot. Washington DC, is literally the smallest yet one of the most powerful city in the world. It measures about 130 sq miles and has the highest population dense area in the U.S. and I mean as small as it is. The City of New York measures by land, almost 303 square miles about 2.5x the size of DC), yet the most populous city in the U.S. Meanwhile, according to your proposal, Lagos measures almost 4x the size of NY city NOT NY Metro area, yet doesn't boast of 1/5th of its economic activity. I used Lagos as example, being the most prosperous state in Nigeria, yet the smallest, to relate/compare the two top cities in the U.S. that controls U.S. Govt and International policies, and financial power respectively, and to state to you that the size of a city is completely useless to your supposed proposal i.e. in reference to economic output and good living. If you think you're gonna combine all states to become one MEGA city whereas the output or should I say, the infrastructures of our so-called cities is nil, you're just as clueless as I thought. I prefer a situation where those cities come together to build a common and reliable hub that serves as capital and help handles centralized power, health, security, and research hub. 1 Like |

Fuckyoumod: Nigeria was set up like this cities until some retaarded Igbos decided to launch the first coup to gain powers, trying to corner all the wealth of the nation to themselves. This actions backfired with the Hausa countercoup. The is how Nigeria is left with a destroyed democracy, discarded confederalism. Till date thispeople are yet to take the blame for their foolishness. 1 Like |

States should partner together strictly based for commercial economic activities as it will benefit them. Power, health, security,e.tc,e.tc, should be done independently and reliable and useful information should be shared only on emergencies. 1 Like |

MODALSOUL1:^^^^^^ ^^^^^^ @ModalSoul1 What you have posted here is the ideal but YOU need to realise as an American-born with an Akwa Ibom State father... that these locations you mentioned belong to people or Nigerians of different ethnicities with different languages spoken. The states are NOT homogeneous or monolithic in culture and this is the reason why some folks here initially thought you were an Internet troll... or that you were lying about youself because your megacity proposal was a bit skeewed or disjointed. I checked your posts and my instincts told me that you're an American just like you indicated and this is why you got into mistakenly merging States, and towns with one another in the "utopian" Megacity! You CANNOT merge Port Harcourt and Calabar which are both cities/state capitals without merging other towns and villages of Rivers and Cross River States into the megacity project. Check the map of Nigeria to see what I'm saying! 1. Akwa Ibom State is Ibibio, Annang and Efik-speaking. The capital is Uyo. 2. Calabar is the capital of Cross River State and one of the towns within Cross River. Efik, Efut, Qua, Ejegham or Ekoi are some of the ethnicities in Cross River. 3. Portharcourt is the Capital of Rivers State with several ethnic groups as well! Kalabaris, Ikwerres, etc, are some of the ethnicities. 4. Abia State is an Ibo-speaking state. Aba and Umuahi are two of the most prominent towns in Abia State. Economic integration can only be done from individual States collaborating with themselves on a regional basis, while maintaining their cultural and political identities. Nigeria is NOT like the U.S. for instance where immigrants migrated from other countries of the world, and can claim to be from any state in the U.S after proper naturalisation! It isn't so in Nigeria. Last but not least, it is ONLY Lagos State and Ogun State that might be able to merge and form one megacity since right now, many parts of Lagos and Ogun States have merged at the border areas... and the two States are ethnically homogeneous and of the same Yoruba ethnicity/sub-ethnicities. The 5 Ibo-speaking states of the South-East can also merge hypothetically speaking. Anambra, Imo, Enugu, Ebonyi, Abia States being near-homogeneous, although there are some ethnic Igala communities in Anambra and Enugu States. These 5 states are roughly of the SAME size with 1 state in the South-West Region called Oyo State [Capital is Ibadan]. Oyo State is the BIGGEST State in Southern Nigeria! I hope this helps! All the best! 1 Like 1 Share
