Why would you need to put off your AC? Either your AC is on or not, it has no effect on your engine. I pity your rating though. This is professional driving let's take it professional. If uber pays better do it, if its taxify switch to it.

You are giving your whole life for rating, if your car breaks down or you don't make any money in this business, please take your rating to mechanic or take it to uber to collect money.

You need rating sir, you shouldn't also be car less because of rating, it is a balance of both. If a trip is ongoing and I have seen signs that it is going to be a terrible one, I would end the trip.

Rainy season is coming, If i get to an area that would damage my car, I would end the trip, I would not because of rating and NGN1,500 put my car at a repair cost of NGN50k.

A balance is the key to this business and when trying to strike the balance sometimes it might take a hit on your ratings.

To be sincere, the experience has been awesome. Meeting different kind of people, knowing places and having money in my pocket.

Passengers are cool and respectful but u have to always put a smile on your face and ask them if they need anything to make them more comfortable (music, AC, phone chargers)

Am using Honda DC.

I work 6pm-10:30-11:00pm ( Monday-Friday)

My brother, I dnt have the financial details for weekly but the rough (average)estimate I can give u is ;

(1) Monday - Friday (6pm-11pm)=#20,000.00@#3,500-#4,00 per day,
(2) Saturday-sunday (10am-10pm)=#20,000.00 @#10,000 per day.
(3) Total =#40,000.00
(4) expenses (recharge card, data, fuel, water and small chops)=#10,000.00
With the above calculation, you should be able to get #30,000.00 or more, that's if you work smart.

I hope this my rough calculations should help you.

Last nite I had real time experience of what drivers go thru on the road.

I closed @ 6pm, was about leaving the workshop when I decided to turn on my uber app. I saw surge right where my workshop is located. I received first trip almost immediately but it canceled after a few mins. I then decided to drive a bit while waiting for next request. Got one on oba-akran (by then Dynamic pricing had left the building)drove to mangoro area picked a rider to lekki phase 1 (home of surge) trip was fantastic cause we had to look for ways around traffic (much longer routes)before 11pm I had completed 6trips @ over 10k. It was time to go home. Set destination back to mainland and it popped the Mumu network stability error try again another time. So I decided I will leave it on and cancel any trip not going my way. I was deep inside ajah heading home when I heard an uncomfortable sound from the serpentine belt area.....

I ignored it... by the time I got close to lekki phase 1 round about I had the battery light on with the engine running, stiff power steering and rapidly climbing coolant temperature values.

I am driving my Avensis 1998 2002 and it uses a 3piece belt. I turned off all major electrical gadgets except the engine (head lights, DVD systems, airconditioning) I used the hazard lights instead.

I stopped accessed the damage and realised all 3 belts had been ripped of by the larger belt.

Got back into the car and drove to a well lit area where I could see a few cars parked.

Immediately I parked the HNIC came out of the dark, I addressed my self as Captain gazzuzz of kano pillars international HNIC became calm, I told him my war was going to sleep in his care and I would pick it up in the morning, he had no problem with that.

I called one of my colleagues on the phone, and in a matter of minutes, a 407 with a horse whip on the dashboard appears, I bullied the driver to the passenger side and drove to workshop.

Got to workshop picked up another vehicle and headed home.

got to gate and seems the security guy was in a valentine spirit. Did everything possible to wake him up, my guy no appear.

So I turned on my app and headed to magodo as instructed by my Oga in the business. True to his words lagos started moving again, this time back to lekki.....

2 more trips, then I headed back to area where my faulty vehicle was parked.

I didn't allow HNIC see me, I located another area where I saw over 20 toyota corrola cars with drivers inside all sleeping cheesy

Any way I said to my self, this area must be safe.

turned off app set chair low and got some shut eye.

I knew my serpentine belt was a bit frayed, but I had been procrastinating for almost a year now on replacing it, finally my village people Got me on 14 Feb.

Moral of the story

Keep vehicles as sound as possible. Replace all faulty parts as soon as you notice to avoid disappointments like this.

And if you can, keep a spare in the boot.

Thank God this happened to you a car owner and also a part time driver.
Car owners should see and learn from ur experience and learn to attend to issues with the car when they pop up. Most car owners are all after manage the car and make money for them. A good and responsible driver will surely inform of any issue but don't always push blame on drivers if u fail on ur side to put the car in order. Gazzuzz, thank you for this revelation

Office Location: 3-9 Olu Koleosho Street, Off Medical Road, Ikeja, Lagos

WHY DOES YOUR CAR NEED MYMOTO TRACKER

(1) Security: While anti-theft systems like push-buttons before car start, gear lock, pedal locks etc… are good, ONLY A TRACKING SYSTEM LIKE OURS ALLOWS YOU TO RECOVER (AND ALSO PROTECT) YOUR VEHICLE IF YOUR CAR IS HIJACKED FROM YOU WHILE DRIVING. Our trackers are both anti-theft and recovery in nature. e.g. You should shutdown your car before you sleep at night or park in a public space. Whenever you need to start the car, you enable it also.

(2) Remote Monitoring: GPS Security trackers allows you to monitor your vehicle location remotely from your phone. You are able to view your car’s location in real time (from our IOS/ANDROID APPS).

(3) Vehicle History: Through our online platform (IOS/ANDROID APPS) , you can view where your car had been between DAY X and DAY Y. A plot is shown on a map showing your car’s movement over this period of time.

(4) Remotely Stop Your Car: With our security GPS tracker, you are able to stop your car from ANY PHONE with an sms command. This function can also be carried out through our online platforms.

(5) Geo-Fencing Alarm:If your car goes beyond set a radius (or multi-point), say Lagos, you will be notified by sms.

(6) Other alarms (Over-speed Alarm, Ignition On Alarm, Low Battery Alarm ): Over-speed alarms notifies you via sms when your car goes beyond a particular speed. Ignition on notifies you WHENEVER your car is started. Low Battery Alarm lets you know when your car battery is low.

(7) Daily Mileage report (online platform): Daily mileage report shows you a daily chart (in KM) of your car.

We have heard of one or two expereience of how clients were able to recover their vehicles BECAUSE THEY HAD A TRACKER INSTALLED IN IT. We will be sharing some of them with you based on TRUE LIFE EXPERIENCES.

If you have had personal experiences also, kindly share with us.

WE STILL INSTALL THE MOST AFFORDABLE TRACKERS AROUND STARTING FROM 25K (VARIES WITH CAR MODEL).

CONTACT US ON 09032614208 OR 08060675824. More details on tracker: https://mymoto.com.ng/why-you-should-install-the-mymoto-security-tracker/

WE ARE THE ONLY COMPANY THAT OFFERS FREE LIFETIME ACCESS TO OUR ONLINE PLATFORMS FOR MONITORING/STOPpING YOUR CAR.

YOU'VE SPENT QUITE MUCH TO ACQUIRE YOUR CAR, SECURE IT WITH A TRACKER. BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY

Story 1
During one of our installs, the client shared with us how Mr Ayo (not his real name) borrowed his brothers car, and waylaid in the night somewhere in Lagos. Unknown to the thieves, the car had a tracker in it. That same night they tracked the vehicle to a military baracks (apparenntly the thieves had accomplices with military connections). They went with the police and they were able to recover the car (THE DEMOBILIZE FUNCTION OF THE TRACKER WAS USED TO ENSURE THE CAR DID NOT MOVE UNTIL THEY GOT TO THAT LOCATION)...

Story 2
Mr Bayo was bout entering his car in the night somewhere in Lagos when he was attacked. He immediately used his phone to demobilize the car some minutes after they had zoomed away with the car. The thieves ran away when they discovered the car wasn't strating again. The car was tracked to Ajah. Apparently the thieves ran away in fear with the keys of the car grin

truth.... That my kick giving signs refused to work as at 2pm yesterday. Valentine day of all days.... Luckily it was in an estate at osolo way where i dropped a rider, put off the car, request came in. Tried starting the car to go pick the rider: na lie. I knew it was a day of reckoning between me and the starter. I just looked for an electrician at answani mechanic village. Told him to remove the kick starter, that i am buying another one 2moro. Locked the car, took uber home(ogudu). This morning i had him buy another one and fixed it... Before then i realized i had a flat tire overnight, so it was like double wahala... Had to change to spare.

Some weeks, u can't enjoy 7 smooth days....
You can say that again!! i had a not so palatable experience sometimes last month as well.
Dropped off a rider around 11:30pm in an estate, killed engine to take a leak only to get back in and car refused to start. turns out the battery was dead and the car was hard starting that morning but i ignored it thinking ill call mech to check it at work on Monday, make i use weekend cash out afterall i bought the battery in January 2017.
I looked around and all gates were locked, nobody to ask to help jump-start,no cars parked on the street, called rider for assistance and she was like all her neighbors were out, i was OYO.
Thank God for small sense, i requested taxify, called the driver, introduced myself as a driver and explained my predicament. The man came through immediately he heard i was a driver, helped jump start and even refused taking any cash for the assistance.

God bless that man!! Imma repay some other driver someday.

i still made the new battery money that weekend tho cool
