DaVinciii:What's your point? Why don't you do the counting? When last were you in Uyo. You should go there and see what the new govt.is doing in terms of road construction. 1 Like |

DaVinciii: Abak Road has one of the best electricity supplies in Nigeria, surpassing that of many states. So I don't know what you mean by your question. There is no electricity issue at Abak Road except if the street has a transformer failure. Almost all the inner city roads in Uyo are tarred, except you want to be economical with the truth. Uyo is a city where everywhere is connected. All the inner roads and crescents in 4 Towns, Ewet Offot, Oku, and other areas in Central Uyo are tarred. Even in the Itam, Ibesikpo and other outlying areas, many of the roads are tarred and they are much more connected that many so called cities in Nigeria. So except you are being economical with the truth, give credit where credit lies. Uyo has many shortcomings but it is a lot better in many aspects than most Nigerian cities. And just so you know, I'm not an Akwa Ibomite. 10 Likes |

khalhokage: I agree with you. Akwa Ibomites are very lazy and don't have that motivation to make money. This is exactly why Igbos saturate the length and breadth of the state, mining gold in businesses that Akwa Ibomites will not exploit. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Atouke: I don’t want to bash your city because it’s where I am now. But if we keep praising mediocrity, we wont move forward. Uyo has one of the best “major” roads in Niger Delta for sure but development is more than major roads. The inner roads are all not tarred except few select areas, and this is just talking about roads. I’m talking about the lack of good roads (only major roads are BEAUTIFUL). What about the lack of amenities in Uyo? How many branches do the banks have ? 2? 3? What of armed robbers? If you don’t pay your vigilante old men, how far? How is your night life and the business atmosphere? Not everyone that points out your bad points is “hating” 5 Likes |

DaVinciii: Uyo is disappointingly slow in development. The Government tried in building roads, stadia, mall and other necessary infrastructures but the people cannot complement Government's efforts in their own little ways. Since that 2007 Akpabio brought uncommon transformation till date it is still Government trying to put up all structures. 4 Likes |

IamProdigy: Cost of living is cheaper in Akwa Ibom Cost of housing is cheaper in Akwa Ibom Starting up a business will be more profitable in Rivers, especially Port Harcourt but Uyo can also rake in good profit in transport, just not as much as PH Akwa Ibom has better scenery and tranquility 7 Likes |

YoungDaNaval:If the money generated from oil in akwa ibom was directed towards developing uyo instead of being ferried to Abuja, trust me Abuja will not have seen uyo's breaklight in terms of development. What is happening in Nigeria is man's inhumanity to fellow man. Niger Delta is being robbed to pay Abuja + others. 5 Likes |

DaVinciii: Now you've mentioned the issue: bad transformer! The government isn't in charge of fixing bad transformers, that is the job of PHEDC, at the request of the people there. And I'm 90% sure it must have been fixed. The current governor donated so many transformers and even an injection station to PHEDC late last year. 6 Likes |

IamProdigy: The whole Uyo is as expensive as the expensive areas in PH (GRA, DLine, etc.) Business (esp transport biz) in Uyo will not move because there is not much money there amongs the masses like in Rivers. Well, you may open the one millionth pharmacy there. Depends on what you like. If you like seeing nice buildings once in a while and want to enjoy driving due to less traffic congestion, or Uyo is for you. PH is an urban mad town. Uyo is more serene, unlike PH which has the bustling atmosphere of Lagos (mainland sha) |

DaVinciii:Oga we are in feburary now, are you stuck in dec? Remember Akwa ibom has a power plant that generates 191MW of electricity but the whole state according to experts only require less than 50MW. That means that akwa ibom is one of the only state in Nigeria that produces more electricity than it requires. But since nigeria is a country that has perfected the arts of robbing the Nigeria Delta to pay others, Our electricity has been sucked into the national grid to feed "One Nigeria". One day God will liberate the Niger delta from the cabals yoke. As It stands, without fg unfair policy Akwa ibom should have nothing to do with darkness. We should be having 24 hrs electricity. Akwa ibom produces more electricity than most countries in Africa. 2 Likes |

Nice structures, the people of Uyo deserve it. They produce the major resource that keeps Nigeria ticking Poverty is a national issue, it is not only the problem of uyo ooo. I think the governor of akwa ibom is encouraging skill accusation centers and other poverty eradication schemes to tackle that 1 Like |
