Every state school should do the same in other parts of the west, east, north and south. Provided they are state schools and not federal institutions. Please let us rest. If you love a school so much, try and meet the requirements for admission even if it means learning hausa and passing it as a subject. Its even an added advantage. No need to insult each other 7 Likes 1 Share |

Ngozi123:Good leadership. You'd agree if Bihari was governor of Lagos state since 1999 or even Good luck, what Lagos will be..,no more than Bayelsa. Look at Bayelsa and Delta with all they have. Lagos is what it is because of leadership. 9 Likes 1 Share |

The same law does not apply to federal universities or tertiary institutions within the same Lagos state, neither does it apply to any of the over 30 private universities nationwide, or any of the higher educational establishments, in 35 other states of the federation. undecided Various alternatives exist. So what is the fuss? The law even goes against any Yoruba person, who does not have a credit pass in Yoruba language. He or she will not get admitted into a state-owned institution in Lagos. Even one tiny private school is much. In a divers nation like Nigeria and in a progressive state like Lagos, which attracts majority of media and international interest on Nigeria outside of terrorism in the North, the move seems rather dangerous. Besides the insensitivity, given the fractures period Nigeria is going through, this at the minimum sets a precedent. Lagos leads. Nigeria has outgrown the old ways of doing things and Central government possibly needs to gather the best minds in and outside Nigeria to form a body charged with creating new and comprehensive set of laws for the Nation, states most operate within. If not, the lives of people will increasingly be jeopardised , quality of life worsened, by cowboy governors throughout the realm that treat their jurisdictions like wild frontiers towns where every cockamamie thought that enter their sculls seem like a good idea for implementation. |

LaudableXX: Nope as the Nigerian government is pretty useless at documenting it's citizens. However, we do know that Lagos was once the capital of Nigeria, which gave it benefits over other states in terms of access to foreign investments and federal investment. It was and still is the headquarter of many oil companies- I don't think that I need to explain the advantages of this. This has actually been detrimental to other states (not just the Igbo ones) and has caused flocks of people to migrate there, start businesses there and help build the economy. I can't believe that we actually have people here that are trying to underplay other tribes' contribution to Lagos. It's very sad. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Edit: you altered your post to make it seem like I was talking about Lagos but if you read the comment I made that you replied to carefully then you'd realise that I was referring to the immigration of non-Igbos to Anambra. 1 Like |
