The 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup will be the 18th edition of the FIFA U-17 World Cup, the biennial international men's youth football championship contested by the U17 national teams of the member associations of FIFA .

The bidding process to host the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup was launched by FIFA in June 2017.

Three countries have publicly declared they have submitted formal bids to host the tournament by the November 2017 deadlines. Fifa are expected to announce the successful host early in 2018. The three countries are as follows:

- Kenya

Change Of Host
Originally, it was determined that Peru would have hosted it between 5 and 27 October 2019, however, it was announced in February 2019 that they would no longer host the tournament, following inspection of the facilities and concern over organizational challenges. Note: This thread's title will be modified as soon as the host(s) for the 2019 edition is confirmed and revealed by FIFA.

Now, as promised, I present to you the 2019 Edition of the Nigerian U-17 Golden Eaglets Thread. It promises to be a fine ride as this team is more than likely to be headlined by the combo of Manu Garba's Undoubted coaching, talents-spotting & nurturing skills AND Lateef Omidiji Jnr's bow for Nigeria. Much have been said and reported on and seen of Lateef's undoubted talents and as one eligible to feature in the 2019 Fifa U-17 WC, he is expected to make his choice from among three nations battling for his allegiance. The nations are U.S.A, The Netherlands and of course, Nigeria. Of these three, there are very very very strong indications that he has picked Nigeria same as his sister Sophia (a Super falcons prospect/hopeful).
Lateef Omidiji Jnr is very likely to be the face of this team if all goes according to plan and in combination with the undoubted rare jewels Manu Garba's scouting network shall unravel, I expect this U-17 team to be another true force that will grow into another fine generation of Nigerian footballers with huge potentials for tomorrow.

Let the U-17 party begin.... Come one, come all... welcome...cheesy

Swedish Side IFK Norrkoping Win Race To Sign 2016 Nigeria U17 Golden Boy Razak Isheq

Sweden top division side IFK Norrkoping has pulled a major transfer coup by signing 16 year old Nigeria U17 midfielder Abdularazak Isheq nicknamed golden boy.

Razak was one of the top prospects in the Nigerian U17 team of 2016 despite their failure to qualify for the African Youth Championship. His form during the both leg of their qualifiers against Niger Republic led to interest from English Championship side QPR.

Southampton were also linked with a move for the midfielder, but Norwegian side Rosenborg where his colleague Igho Ogbu plays at the moment we’re widely believed to be the front runners for his signature.

IFK Norrkoping won the race to sign him on a pre contract, which will become a professional deal after he impressed a scout linked with the team during a Youth Tournament organised by some scouts in Ghana last year.

Already he has visited the Swedish Embassy to process his visa, which is expected to be out in the coming days to enable him travel to Sweden, where he will train with the club.

He is widely expected to keep his spot in the Nigerian U17 team following the reappointment of coach Manu Garba by the Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) , same coach who gave him his breakthrough at that same level last time out.

From 16 Year Old Nura Mohammed To 15 Year Old Funom Paul, Three Others – Meet The NPFL Teenagers

There seems to be a change in the way Nigerian clubs operate in terms of the composition of their team as most teams are now slowly toeing the line of including teenagers in their squad.

This season five players under the age of 18 have played for various teams in the Nigeria Professional Football League with recently turned 16 year old El-Kanemi Warriors Nura Mohammed, the most illustrious among them.

Nura has already played for the senior national team of Nigeria as he was a part of the B team that finished as runners-up at the recently concluded Africa Nations Championship ( CHAN) in Morocco.

Funom Paul of newly promoted Yobe Desert Stars is the youngest of them all after making his debut three weeks ago in Owerri in their 1-1 draw against Heartland at the age of 14, although he will be 15 years old in May.

Plucked from Kaduna United, the winger who is still in Secondary school made his debut for the Nigeria National League side last season after finishing as the top scorer, and the Most Valuable Player (MVP) in the inter secondary school competition organised by Kaduna United.

As many as seven first team players went on strike and young Funom who has trained just twice with the first team was drafted into the league squad of the NNL side alongside three other teenagers.
He made his debut against Yobe Stars, the team he now plays for as his pace, dribbling abilities and pin point crosses won the hierarchy of the team, and a deal was reached with his father to enrol him in a school before his transfer to the club was sanctioned.

In Kano, Nazifi Yahaya who was a part of the Nigeria U17 team of 2016 and Ibrahim Alhassan are the popular teenagers in the team. 16 year old Salisu Musa joined them in the first team and marked his debut by creating the second goal scored in their 2-0 win over MFM FC two weeks ago.

MFM FC are also not left out of the among clubs handing teenagers a spot in their team with the duo of Emmanuel Onuh and Lawal Abayomi part of their first team set up even though they are yet to turn 17.

This current trend could means that coach Manu Garba of the Nigeria U17 team will have some experienced teens to pick from when he assembles his next squad following his reappointment as coach of the team.

Manu Garba Speaks On Chances Of Nigerian Players Born Abroad Making His U17 Team, Open Screening

Reappointed coach of the Nigeria U17 team Manu Garba has given his views on players eligible for his team where born abroad, and want to represent Nigeria ahead of their country of birth.

Lot of Nigerian lads born abroad are scattered around the academies of top teams in Europe, and with the recent drive by coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr in luring players born abroad, Manu says he is ready to tow same line.

Speaking to Owngoalnigeria.com in an exclusive interview, the soft spoken coach however outlined conditions they must meet if they want to be part of his U17 team, who are set to resume camping soon.

” We are ready to receive players born abroad who are eligible to play for Nigeria and want to play. You can’t deny them their fundamental right. As a coach I have had some of them in the past. Like Ovie Ejaria at Liverpool, “ the coach told Owngoalnigeria.com.

”But I will like to state here that they won’t be giving any preferential treatment , and they have to be better than the players we have in the team. Merit will be out watchword not where you’re coming from”.

On the issue of scouting of players for the team who are expected to play their first qualifiers in April, the coach said he has done most of what he need to do, hence they won’t be any need for open screening like he has always done in time past.

”Our first qualifiers is in April, hence we don’t have enough time to conduct an open screening. If you throw the gate open, you will say over 2,000 players in attendance. It’s not a bad idea, it has worked for us before but now we don’t have time.

”As a team we have pencilled down players who will begin the commencement of training. I have been very busy touring Nigeria for eligible players, my assistants have also done their own bit. So we will harmonise our list before we start training hopefully later this month”,
the coach concluded.

But wait. Kenya is bidding to host the U17 WC when they couldn't even meet up with CHAN hosting?

Golden Eaglets To Hold Domestic & Foreign Training Camp, Screening Starts March 4

Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that the newly appointed coach of Nigeria's U17 National Team Manu Garba has submitted his program to the Nigeria Football Federation ahead of the 2019 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations qualifiers.

If the training schedule is approved by the Nigerian Federation, Manu Garba will begin monitoring the Golden Eaglets invitees on Sunday, March 4.
The former Gombe United helmsman has already drawn up a list of invitees, the bulk of invited players are the youngsters that he has scouted in the last few months and the Nigeria schoolboys (U15s) that traveled to Morocco for friendlies last August.

This means there will be no 'controversial open screening sessions' for now as Garba wants to form a standing team first before inviting new players in future.
Just like it is done in some French speaking African countries, Manu Garba and his lieutenants will hold a get-together in Europe for foreign-based players of Nigerian descent and the outstanding players will be drafted into the team.

Meanwhile, the Flying Eagles will face either Sierra Leone or Guinea-Bissau in the second round of the 2019 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The first leg will be played on 11-13 May, while the second leg will take place 18-20 May 2018.

Golden Eaglets To Hold Domestic & Foreign Training Camp, Screening Starts March 4Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that the newly appointed coach of Nigeria's U17 National Team Manu Garba has submitted his program to the Nigeria Football Federation ahead of the 2019 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations qualifiers. If the training schedule is approved by the Nigerian Federation, Manu Garba will begin monitoring the Golden Eaglets invitees on Sunday, March 4.The former Gombe United helmsman has already drawn up a list of invitees, the bulk of invited players are the youngsters that he has scouted in the last few months and the Nigeria schoolboys (U15s) that traveled to Morocco for friendlies last August. This means there will be no 'controversial open screening sessions' for now as Garba wants to form a standing team first before inviting new players in future.Just like it is done in some French speaking African countries, Manu Garba and his lieutenants will hold a get-together in Europe for foreign-based players of Nigerian descent and the outstanding players will be drafted into the team.Meanwhile, the Flying Eagles will face either Sierra Leone or Guinea-Bissau in the second round of the 2019 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations qualifiers. The first leg will be played on 11-13 May, while the second leg will take place 18-20 May 2018.Ifeanyi Emmanuelsource: ANS
Why tag the open screening sessions that has been successful in rare gems for the country controversial? Also, I hope Manu Garba still carries out open sessions later. I believe in that system.

I concur shaa, we may never know where the next big talent may come from if we limit our eyes to the ones who have been monitored by the coaches for some time.

Manu did say he had been busy scouting some other fine talents and added to the ones from the U-15s, from abroad (like Omidiji Jr) and more, he feels he can start from there for now.... but even if the ones he has found have some potential world beaters, I agree he should still cast his net further to uncover even more rare gems.... we just cannot have enough of them... the more, the better.

I really cannot fathom why the NFF would appoint a coach barely a month before the qualifier.

Nigeria U17 Coach Manu Garba : I’m Through With Scouting, I Will Release My List This Week

The selection of players for the next Under-17 national team of Nigeria popularly referred to as the Golden Eaglet has been concluded according to coach of the team Manu Garba.

Garba was reappointed coach of the team he lead to glory in 2013 at the World Youth Championship in the UAE, despite his inability to qualify them for the last edition of the youth showpiece.

In an exclusive chat with Owngoalnigeria.com, the coach revealed he has done almost everything he need to do regarding screening and selection of players for the next set of youngsters for the Nigerian team.

”Hopefully I will release the list of players who are expected to be in camp for our upcoming qualifiers later in the week. I and other members of my technical crew have done a lot in terms of screening the past few days”, the coach told Owngoalnigeria.com.

”The idea is to have them early in camp and also have a squad size which one can manage. We are however open to having new players in the team. It will be in the form of elimination by substitution. If we see a player better than the one we have in camp. We will pick him at the expense of our choice”.

On the secret of his success as coach of the Nigerian team particularly in area of the progression of players to the senior national team, the coach narrowed it down to his own personal experience as young footballer.

”I represented Nigeria at the U-17 level, and in most of the team I played during my days, I was the youngest. The desire to see players progress like me comes top ahead of any of my personal ambition.

”At U-17 level they are stuffs you look out for in a player, you can’t see everything. So you have to look at their strength and work on it especially for the good of your team”.

Ohhhh okay... That's pretty cool of you. The video has nice old clips of some of the best plays in the Naija league... Pretty cool.

It even shows when Kingsley Sokari was based in the NPFL. I suppose the you-tube channel showing the clip is his right? Tell him to keep making more but shorter ones this time and he can limit each video clip to certain players in the league... That will be awesome if he can pull that off. smiley
