MODALSOUL1: Nawah for you! What Buhari is doing now will do the job neatly if he continue at this pace for the next five years. That's why he need second tenure. With the heavy hunger, massacre and hardship. Only the strong will make it through the next few years. |

Re: - by initiate: 7:28pm On Feb 16, 2018 |
better still don't have any kids. face the problem headon! why do you want to consciously limit population growth? Nigeria's problem is not the high population but the large percentage of unskilled idle population. we need to develop our human resources and the idle population would engage in productive activities instead of just seeking entertainment and pleasure chasing. look at japan and south Korea, the youth are busy innovating instead and growing their society, please compare with an average Nigerian youth by the way abortion is murder. an unborn child is not a mess of bloody tissue but a complete human being albeit still dependent on the mother |

imhotep: it should be u biz and mine too because in the long and short terms it affects us.... idle populations breed social vices. and competition for limited resources. Think about this for a while before raining ur usual expletives |
Re: - by nijabazaar: 7:58pm On Feb 16, 2018 |
initiate: people need to know the consequences of over breeding . and it's only the government in lieu with religious bodies that can enforce that. Breeding for breeding sake is not a Divine mandate. |

MODALSOUL1: Nothing short of a widespread natural disaster or fatal infectious disease without cure can reduce population at the level you envisage. Measures like mass murder that Hitler used at industrial scale was able to kill only 6 million Jews over a 10 year period. We won't really miss average of 600,000 people a year. 1 child policy of China has not reduced the population, it only succeeded in reducing rate of population growth Death sentence will not help much as legal system is expensive to pronounce such. Imagine the cost of one legal case multiplied by 1 million a year and see if we can afford the cost, many getting to supreme court level. Abortion is already widespread, coupled with poor maternal and infant healthcare, it has not dented the population growth rate in Nigeria |
Re: - by EVarn(m): 8:50pm On Feb 16, 2018 |
ideologies:Well, that was just an hypothetical situation. In a scenario where the population becomes overbloated, something would have to be done. The planet must be saved, and overpopulation may eventually contribute to the destruction of the earth; hence, measures would have to be taken to control the geometric growth of the human population. Its as simple as that. |
