That was the year they made billions in foreign exchange loss and you wrote their management off. I remember only Bigjay01 had the guts to buy the stock at ₦12 then and it later moved aboved ₦80.

That year I sold and bought back again at N17 and sold again. I try not to hold over valued stocks. Thinking of what to do now with my Presco and Beta Glass.

The board chairman was one arrogant Greek American. He was so rude at the AGM. Maybe he was even the CEO then.

I have come out with a proactive and efficient hypothesis to strengthen that strategy and make it the best in the world, viz:

Trade with 60% percent of you portfolio account and leave the remaining 40% standby.
Anytime there is a major bear, use the remaining 40%the to load more of the stocks in your portfolio from the support of the lowest low or thereabout.

When the market recovers, sell 40% of your open trade and keep the money for another eventual bear.
Full stop. grin grin

This is Macmillan analysis. It doesn't just happen that way. Sometimes market will not recover for a long time. That is why holding good stocks that pay dividends is the best. Where prices don't move, you sit tight and chop the yearly dividends.

This is not the first time they will be having a negative cash flow.
This is Nigeria and I can bet it FMN will pay cash dividend.

I completely agree with you.

Maybe ideally, they shouldn't pay. But due to the 9ja factor, they will pay.

30% even dey feasible sef but it would've consistent na
rationalmind:

But 20% weekly is not realistic. We are talking over a thousand percent increase in a year.

Since the bear started, I have kept my money in DS and havent made any reasonable return for two weeks which is okay by me. At least, if im not gaining, I'm not losing.

It was at a high of 120 or so. Then they released their result that they showed the line of extraordinary FX loss. The stock crashed to N11 or so. The next financial year or two, it got so high again.

Correct. After the monumental loss (Small when compared with OandO's), the price crashed. They did a rights issue and price started moving up again.

Before the crash it was at a high of close to 100 I guess in 2008. Then released the result in 2009 and it crashed to 11. Then in 2013, it picked up to a high of above 100.

You never loss unless you sell. You can convert your holding to long term.
A lot of people have Dáar comms, staco, Union Diagnostics, Chams etc but converted to long time. Even transcorp that become toast of most investors taught me a lot, their paper is still with me, even when I tried to average down I bought at either 4 or 3. But other stocks make me happy

i remember the hype that sorrounded Chams PP in 2007, it was going to be the next thing after sliced bread. Talk about tuition fees, i have the T-shirt.

Someone did an analysis and said it is not possible for any stock to go below 20kobo, can't remember the basis; or is it 19kobo
1kobo is more than 5% of 19kobo
Stocks in that category can only move 1kobo; not a fraction.
Stocks in nse cannot move more than 5% of reference price.
So we might not see 1kobo stocks grin

Thats means you didnt quite understand the 1k rule.

For stocks less than N5, the ticker is 1k meaning you can bid prices in 1k additions or subtractions.

So when it gets to where 5% has been exhausted, the stock starts loosing 1k daily until its settles at the 1k bus stop.

Have you noticed you can only add multiples of 5k to your bids of UBA, FBNH, DF, etc. You cant bid 16.01 on DF. Try it on Monday.

I just dey try recall the guy's analysis. Are you sure 1k can replace 5% rule? Aren't they independent?

The day I raised this issue, you said I no sabi maths. Believe it or not, when a stock gets to 1k and moves to 2k its 100% movement. Thats the flaw in their new rule. Instead of looking for ways of growing the market, this is all NSE have to offer. Forget the 5% rule, its no longer feasible.
Once a stock is at 1k, you get 100,000 units for just 1000 naira. Make una leave japaul to get to 1k so that one of us in this forum can just take over the company and change management.

It has already. If you place a bid that is not in multiples of 0.5 on any stock 5-100, you will get an error message.

It was designed to allow the stocks go to 1k park and thats their destination

Smaller priced stocks will grow at outrageous percentages until they can produce a 1k at 5% multiple

I think there was a year Flour Mills made a loss. Doubt they paid any dividend that year. They had foreign currency denominated loan. Devaluation made them to incur losses due to foreign exchange translations.

Valuation of bluechip stocks is hardly based on dividend yield. Growth rate matters more than dividend yield. It is not also a good stock for traders.

I beleieve the year was 2009!

That year they had a 6B loss related to FX.

That was the year yours truly picked it up at N13.
