The world is indeed a global village and nairaland romance section can be taken to the village square. Nairaland is filled with amazing people forming an integral of the larger Nigerian society. Some come here to have fun, meet new and cool people, and also extend it to the world outside nairaland.

Our comments can to a great extent speak volume of who we are, while I admit some lead an opposite of who they truly is here in this platform. I through my over four years of nairaland experience have learned a lot of things. Everyday in this platform, so many things happen. Yes, it is a faceless forum, so it is safe for you to say anything and get away with it. I have seen friends turn into enemies, hate speeches, and curses given to those we do not know. It is in testimony to the above and in spirit of the Sunday blessing that I want share some tips to building a successful nairaland experience.

First to the guys:

Before you send that Pm (email) to that female moniker

1. Do not allow your emotions to rule over your senses. Carry out a due diligence study on that moniker. Don't be too stupid to send that email. Relax, take your time, think through it, engage her on a discussion in any of the threads. See her reaction to other people, what they say of her and the rest of the study you need to make. And when you send that email, please withhold your emotions. Don't rush to tell her how you love her and the rest. You will be too stupid to do that.

2. Just like you like her, so many other persons does and perhaps might have sent Pms even before you discovered her on nairaland. Again, take your time to think through it.

3. Be yourself. Don't asslick any female moniker. None of them cares about you, how you feel, and who you will become. Be yourself, and if you must take side, then take a particular side and don't care about what anyone thinks or feel. You will be so stupid if you allow yourself to be emotionally arrested by the ladies simply because you want to earn likes and the rest. Be yourself bro.

4. Know there is life outside nairaland: You might think that the world ends here. No it didn't end here. They are so many people leading a happy life outside here, who probably did not know that nairaland exist. So don't act of think everything ends here. Show love when you can. Be compassionate when necessary. Do not think your life depends on someone in this platform. That can be a suicide attempt.

5. Know the ladies are smart: One mistake I have made perhaps in my little dealings on this platform is assuming things are real. No, it isn't that real as you feel. The way you feel about it is an illusion of the way the lady feels about it. Only 1 in every 5000 nairaland hookups make it to an important end. So the probability of your success is very close to the zero. Keep everything balanced. Do not give yourself away so easily. Be smart and don't push things too far

Due to so many advances ladies receive on daily basis, they have armed themselves with tools to help them transact with the new guys. You will be most stupid thinking you are making progress.

Lol grin , I laugh!

Preaching for a healthy online relationship on Nairaland is a scam to reality.

Let's be truthful to ourselves.

To the ladies

Well, you all know this game and how it's been played. But before you respond to that email, before you start showing green and blue light, please check to confirm that:

1. You are not completing a script: Sure, you know the end already, but if you didn't reply his mail, it may seem as if you are rude. No, you are not rude. Don't reply that mail save for a business transaction or you want to render help to him. If he is for a relationship and you are not damn ready, ignore it. End it from the beginning than when things seems to be going well.

2. Know he isn't different from other guys out there. When it comes to relationships, guys are much open. And only few lie to please you. They all need the same thing.

3. Don't aim to increase the number of people you have done similar things to on nairaland. By playing on him and hoping he bows down to you on nairaland is just a classic theory you are proposing. It may work for few but not to majority. When it explodes, people will know of you before you try to save yourself.

This is nairaland. Its not an experiment ground, don't make it your testing laboratory

That act of being busy can be permanent. You must admit that things are much better today than it used to be.

We must make efforts to sanitize here.

Well, you have touched every aspect.

I think the reason why many people are addicted to Nairaland yet are not progressing is because they think Nairaland is nothing but a funfair. They think it's just a place where you only catch fun and that's why they laugh and mock those who are dating.

Many poor people have become rich through Nairaland and many single people have found their husbands/ wife here. Leave those people forming commando alone. Let them keep saying "God forbid I date a Nairalander)

A time will come when they will look back at the time they've spent on Nairaland and will realize that they have actually wasted part of their lives letting negativity rule is very them. This is when they will realize that there's sense in this article you put up cheesy cheesy

Lol. You are right. Things evolve so fast and people's beliefs changes with them. Yet some are so fulfilled in their little state that any cause of change is resisted. You treat anyone that comes your way like he or she is a trash that deserves the next waste bin.

I found business section relationship to be most profitable Atleast the one I have benefitted from.

Having said that, Tosyne2much, those steemit people don't want me to steem my money there. Oboy over five working days and nothing has been approved. They should help my life before poverty go finish me here. lol.

I see that you are doing well there, it's been great seeing how you are helping people on that thread. Keep it up

Efforts in futility... though I must commend you.

You see, there's only one real person here and that is me. I mean, do I know you?

Nairaland only exist in my imagination. Everyone here is fake, including me (of course, to YOU).

Perhaps, just perhaps I'd know that you're real the day I meet you, give you a hot slap in the face whilst you turn around, smile and say: 'Wow... thank you'!

Until then, I don't know anyone.

That is why it's always very good to be mindful of the way you talk to people on Nairaland even though it's a faceless forum.

I got to meet many Nairalanders who are earning well from Steemit and they are always willing to help the moment they get to know I'm "Tosyne2much"

I just shake my head each time I see someone trying to make the other person look worthless by throwing tantrums

Lol. Well, there is an argument someone made one day on science section. This argument happen about 4 years ago.

What is the argument:
The internet is an imagination. He said that the document in MSword is not real, so if he breaks the laptop, he can't see the document.

by implication, whatever he is doing in that document isn't real. Well, that's very wrong.

If I ask you where I am, and perhaps you said I am in Enugu. Before I asked the question, where was I? This is a scientific question to ask.

Everything here isn't imagination. Everyone here are real. Real humans acting and behaving the way they choose to behave. I do exist, same with you, and same with everyone. Because we do exist, I don't need to insult you to make my points known. It's not imagination, it's not a rocker science. It's real. We are real, and we do exist.

sure, we can treat ourselves as if we don't exist, but that would be selfishness on our part.

You are absolutely right. Of recent I completely understood how things should work. Thats after a foolish and undeserved experience here. After then, I knew things shouldn't be the same. We have got to change the world and we must start here.

Again you are very right. I heard that steemit isn't easy.

I don't know what some Nairalanders stand to gain in shaming and bringing people down. Some of them are just so filled with envy, jealousy, enmity and hatred towards people they haven't even met in person. Such people are usually
