Our world cup team is as highly predictable as my list below barring injury or loss of form to our key players. The coach oftentimes work with same players so as to attain high team chemistry.

Goalkeepers
1. Daniel Akpeyi
2. Ikechukwu Ezenwa
3. Francis Uzoho

Defenders
4. Leon Balogun
5. William Troost-Ekong
6. Chidozie Awaziem
7. Kenneth Omeruo
8. Elderson Echiejile
9. Shehu Abdullahi
10. Bryan Idowu
11. Tyrone Ebuehi/Ola Aina

Midfielders
12. Victor Moses
13. Oyinye Ndidi
14. Ogenyi Onazi
15. Oghenekaro Etebo
16. Alex Iwobi
17. Joel Obi
18. Moses Simon
19. Mikel Obi
20. John Ogu/Mikel Agu

Attackers
21. Ahmed Musa
22.  Odion Ighalo
23. Kelechi Iheanacho

I agree with you but think that Echiejile current position will see him dropped.

My opinion is that we are looking at essentially the same group of players for over the past 6 years. I see a lack of adventure in our player selection and consideration. Admittedly our pool of proven established top quality players is simply not a lot.

For this reason I would have expected people like Obagoal to be considered tested and if good enough selected.

it baffles me that people are even keying into that rubbish. I mean this was the same Oliseh that took a bunch of unknowns to the top of the league, winning almost all their games at home, if that does not mean that the players are behind their coach I wonder what is. Then Oliseh is sacked and they lost(AT HOME) to a team that they should have defeated handsomely, if that is not the players voicing out their disappointment I wonder what is.

Fortuna Sittard is a local team and most of the top guys want their kids playing for the first team, and this was why Oliseh was sacked

Hahahahahah! Shebi dem want coach with attitude!? grin

Make dem dey enjoy d coach with attitude and failure. Bhuuuhahaha! grin

The examples you give are not tenable and a very poor comparison, these are players who are relying essentially on past youth glories. Have not done much in the game.

Hope is a full fledged Nigerian international played a full season in the EPL before Reading was relegated.

Has continued to play in the Championship and was clearly unfairly treated. To see a club admitting they have been unfair to a player is VERY RARE indeed. It says it must have been very bad indeed.

In addition I noticed that nobody has called for his inclusion considering he had a good outing for the SE before being injured. But we have unproven even overweight players being clamoured for.

The history is not the context of my post but a simple fact.

A PLAYER CAN BE GOOD AND LEFT ON THE BENCH.

The history whether from youth tourneys, Ligue 2, South American League, Championship or League 1 does not matter.

I have not called for Hope Akpan's inclusion because I think we are surplus in the midfield. The likes of Ajagun and Raheem Lawal are yet to get a chance.

Our coach is very conservative. Hardly gamble on new players or large pool of players & thus get confused. We are result oriented impatient football loving nation. Win! Win!! Win!!! Is all we know. grin

This Oliseh issue is twisted:
1. A guy picks up a team from the relegation Waters and took them to the top of the table.
2. The managent alleged he lacked proper man management but this does not add up. How can a man take a team from relegation to table top without good man management?
The management is hiding a dirty secret and in this case I think Oliseh was unjustly sacked.
The people blaming Oliseh which I initially did too are all wrong cuz a guy with.such achievement with same players who played the team into relegation must have been a good man manager and tactician.

From my perspective, who was right or wrong is not the most important issue but what goes on after that. There was a better way of Oliseh handling his dismissal. Launching a verbal dirty attack on the club was the worst way to go.

We have seen the likes of Hughton do a good job with Newcastle and still get sacked unfairly. His sack caused an outcry from players, fans and club legends. Yet, Hughton did not go out blasting his employers.

This made his appointments by other clubs easier. However, in Oliseh's case, despite his brilliance, club execs will think hard before giving him a job. That is where the problem lies.

Oliseh needs to learn to listen. It is not always about him.

Success is now a winger.

Who will you choose, Isaac Success, Moses Simon or Henry Onyekuru, if Success is fit? grin
Simeon Moses and i think Rohr would rather go to WC with Simeon than any of the two cos he is well tested and trusted,an integral member of Rohr team.

He is very versatile, technical & quick. He will bring a certain drive to the team. Barring injury he will surely grab a slot if he is hungry enough to go to the Mundial.

Isn't there a contradiction between the first bolded and the last? You say we are not adventurous and essentially we have stuck to the same set of players for the past six years and then you call for Martins. At least this is what I understand from what you wrote
6 years ago was 2012. Apart from Mikel, Moses, Onazi, Echiejile, Ahmed Musa, all the other players are new players. I disagree with your assertion.

So to you, you can't see that our team has evolved greatly in terms of personnel?
Iwobi, Iheanacho, Aina, Idowu, Agu, Shehu, Ndidi, Ebuehi, Simon, Onyekuru, Etebo, Troost Ekong, Awaziem, Uzoho etc are the products of our adventures in blooding new players.

I edited it. Comot Ighalo put Onazi. We are on record as having the youngest team during the qualifiers and here is another person saying we've not been adventurous, that we are using the same set of players who have been playing for us.

not sure how a group of players playing together for the national team for around 6 yrs(not saying that is even the case for super eagles now) should actually be an issue if they players are playing well together...a good crop of that Romanian team to USA94 played together for about 6 yrs according to an interview hagi gave some yrs ago.

If we go to the world Cup with Akpeyi in goal, we will fail woefully.

I REPEAT WE WILL FAIL WOEFULLY WITH AKPEYI IN GOAL!

We won't qualify from the group stage, no matter what we play. No matter how strong our outfield 10 players are, we will lose out in the group stage.

Akpeyi has a negative history in goal for Nigeria. Let those who have ears hear.

Mark my words. A word is enough for the wise.
