Chapter 28 First Attack. Those who grow in the streets know that two things are prevalent, competition and intimidation. Everyone is competing even without knowing. They try to make their lives better or to be better positioned in what they do. It may be in their places of work, schools, small businesses and don't write off same competition from various cult groups and their leaders. Now, intimidation has been an effective weapon for a long time. Persons with notorious selfhood seem to get what they want most times even without needing to throw a blow. Having tried intimidating Badoh nonviolently without success, Mezie decided it was time to change it for him. He had come to fetch water like everyone else when he saw the guy who seem to have taken the only girl he was interested in - Lydia. He wasn't in the lodge where fighting is not allowed, but he was not with his men either, so he resulted one of the greatest intimidation technic he knew - First Attack. First attack has worked magic for generations. CFA defines first strike / attack as the strategic application of proactive force designed to interrupt the initial stages of an assault before it becomes a self-defense situation. Now, the major reason many street boys use first attack is to use the element of surprise which is always invaluable. Launching the first blow or slap as the case may be gives you the upper hand because it allows you to attack the adversary suddenly and unexpectedly. But Mezie's gamble failed. Firstly, he had slapped someone who is street wise and quite experienced in street fights. Secondly, the Badoh he was trying to intimidate was high on MaryJuana which has a way of amplifying all your feelings, be it anger, hunger, happiness, sadness, and even moral sometimes. Thirdly, Badoh is quite obviously bigger than him, and more likely, powerful too. It is important to note that the law of first attack states that "whenever you are squared off with a dangerous adversary and there is no way to safely escape, you must strike first, strike fast, strike with authority, and keep the pressure on. This offensive strategy is essential to the process of neutralizing a formidable adversary in a street fight." (Source: sammyfranco.com). Mezie had struck first, he struck fast too, he even struck with authority but his mistake was he didn't keep the pressure on, that was the lesson he was forced to learn. Chapter 28 to be continued please. 2 Likes |

Mezie had struck first, he struck fast too, he even struck with authority but his mistake was he didn't keep the pressure on, that was the lesson he was forced to learn. When the slap landed on Badoh's cheek, it took only a couple of milliseconds for him to reply by sending his. He had made up his mind to dish the grumpy guy whatever he asked for. So when he got slapped, he wasted almost no time in returning one to Mezie with all the energy he could muster. Unfortunately for Mezie, he was standing wrong footed, plus he wasn't expecting any resistance from his prey, but on this very day, the bush-meat turned into the hunter. Mezie's legs left the ground, a result of the gigantic force Badoh used. As soon as he fell on the ground many of the boys who had come to fetch water burst into hysterical laughter. It was kinda very funny, the aggressor was sent to the ground with one blow. Mezie got furious. He sprang up from the ground ferociously aiming for Badoh, he made more mistakes attacking in anger - a blunder - as he ran into Badoh's kick to the groin. He held his balls as he winced in pain. But Badoh was no done, he was just getting warmed up. Mezie cursed his luck with what came next. An headbutt straight to his nose. He rolled on the ground as Badoh stood over him. He was about to send kicks to his belly when the boys who had been watching and Entertaining themselves held him tight. They dragged him away from the grumpy guy who was bleeding from the nose. "Make una free me, this guy gat's collect well," Badoh voiced in rage. "Calm down bro, he don collect reach," one of the guys said. He also lived in their lodge but was not a student. He was a carpenter and a close friend of Baroni. "This guy na beast o," another said. The carpenter successfully calmed the situation and dragged Badoh towards home. Mezie who had been helped to his feet was not the least through. He struggled to attack his fiery opponent but could not succeed because plenty sympathizers held him back. They didn't want more harm to befall him. "You are dead man. As you don buy f**k up, ready to carry am," Mezie said as he watched the carpenter take his shame giver. He would make sure of his threat.
