Maximum redcard any side can get on the pitch of play is 4, once they are below 7, the game ends!

Calm down bro,.. It's the same thing I was saying.

Read again slowly.

I was angry that the ref didn't stop the game after the fourth red card which is what fifa rules says.

But after watching the highlights, I realized he actually ended the match and gave almost all the players red cards. grin

Atleast I know about the card rules from the top of my head since teenager!

Ikeme was a first team goal keeper for Wolves that's not easy.

The ❓ is, what level is Uzoho playing first team or youth team. Is he the first team second goalkeeper

From what I can in the goalkeeping department he seems the best potential we have. If he is playing first team and or even the first team second goalkeeper, then in my opinion he's possibly our best prospect.
Do you even need to explain this cos the two are wide apart,if not for health issue can Uzoho lace Ikeme shoe.

How The Super Eagles Could Line-up At The 2018 World Cup

As the start of the world’s biggest soccer competition draws near, many football loving Nigerians both home and abroad would begin to wonder how best the Super Eagles could line up against oppositions.

It is no longer news that we have been drawn against football powerhouse Argentina, Croatia and Iceland.

I believe for most games in the completion the Super Eagles will line-up with a flexible 4-2-3-1 formation. I take a look at how we can field our players.

Goalkeeper: Rohr invited the young goalkeeper Francis Uzoho to compete with Ezenwa. Although, Uzoho impressed many with his calmness and ball distribution in a friendly against Argentina, Ezenwa would still be a better choice

Back Four: I believe the two center backs need no altering, both Ekong and Balogun keep delivering when it matters. Provided there are no injury issues this would be the best partnership we can boast of.
The fullbacks might be a tricky one as it depends on if we the boss decides to go for a flat back four or the more modern one.
Ola Aina can fill in at left back or we can get Brian Idowu to do the job if need be. At right back it is going to be a tough one between Shehu and Ebuehi, not forgetting that Aina could also play that role.

The Double Pivot Role: We could have Onazi and Ndidi or Ndidi and Agu or Agu and Onazi. But I will stick with Onazi and Ndidi, they have both done it together in the past. Like we all know experience does matter.

The Hole: This best suits Mikel Obi, where he can apply his experience and short passing attributes. One man many seem to be forgetting is Joel Obi. If indeed the gaffer needs am extra body in the opposition’s box , we can count on the Torino man.
I am not saying this is Joel’s best position but he brings lots of creativity with his game and we do not want to disrupt an already gelled double pivot partnership of Onazi and Ndidi.

Winger and Inside Forward: If you have played a lot of football manager like I have, you would agree with me that these two work well in this system. Alex Iwobi and Victor Moses would be my pick.

The Frontman: Hopefully Iheanacho. Not having the best of seasons as we would have hoped, but you can’t take away his brilliance.

This looks like a good fix, but the gaffer would have the duty to decide how he lines the team up. Hopefully we get a shot at the tournament that still eludes Africa.

Sunday Oliseh explains why he left Nigeria post

Sunday Oliseh has blasted the administrative foibles at his former employers the Nigerian Football Federation, and revealed exactly why he quit his role as Super Eagles head coach.

The former coach tells of a torrid time during his brief tenure in charge as he stood his ground on principles, just as he has done at Fortuna Sittard in the Netherlands before being dismissed last week because, he claims, he did not want to participate in unspecified illegal activities.

Oliseh, 43, never brooked much nonsense as a player and was no different as a coach when he was in charge of the Nigerian national team for eight months between July 2015 and February 2016.

"It was frustrating," he told KweséESPN. "The great things about the Nigerian job were the chance to serve your nation and put them on a track.

"One of the first things I did when I got the job was to bring a lot of young blood in because the team itself was already on the wane. Players like [Alex] Iwobi, I brought into the team, I gave him his first call-up, and some others who had been sidetracked like Moses Simon.

"I brought them in and pushed them up."

Oliseh, who played in two World Cups, stunned Nigeria when he walked after just eight months, telling the NFF in an email of his intention to resign.

Only now, speaking to KweséESPN, has he fully explained why he left the Super Eagles post.

"It was frustrating, but at the same time it was a job that had I wanted to hold onto, I would have held onto it," he began, "but it got to a point where I felt like I wasn't having fun, 'I'm not enjoying this'.

"I remember very clearly the day I told the federation, I sent them an e-mail and said 'Look, I don't want to coach anymore, I'm resigning'. They said 'you can't do that, we don't resign here, no coach has ever done that'.

"I said I'm not enjoying it, I had a philosophy; something I wanted to put on the ground in Nigeria; it was working well, the players were playing well.

"But I just didn't like working with the federation. It was horrible working with the federation. As a player, it was already horrible playing with them. In my life, I reckon if I'm not enjoying something, it's worthless, so let it be.

"They said to me 'How can you leave this job? Many of your colleagues would die for it". I said, 'Yeah, then give the job to them!' I understood it when some of my countrymen said 'Hey, how can you leave?' but I wasn't enjoying it.

"I was falling sick, the atmosphere was cloudy, players were unpaid, I was unpaid, my assistant coaches were unpaid, as much as six months. I was four months unpaid.

"Some would say to you, 'and so? it's normal'. I say it's not normal. I have bills to pay in Europe, but it helped me a lot because the fact that I put a philosophy on the ground and I saw how it worked...it worked so well.

"It confirmed to me what I suspected I had inside of me, that I can do this sort of job."

Oliseh went on to break ground for African coaches by being appointed at Fortuna Sittard in the Dutch second division and taking the club from virtually bottom to top of the standings.

Despite his troubled experience with the Super Eagles, Oliseh is confident that Gernot Rohr's young side can thrive at the World Cup.

"We've got strength, technique and pace," he concluded. "So I think we can be optimistic."

Ebuehi: I Turned Down Benfica Move Because Of World Cup
By Adeboye Amosu

Nigeria defender Tyronne Ebuehi says he rejected the chance to join Portuguese giants Benfica in January to boost his chances of representing the country at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

Ebuehi whose current contract with Dutch club ADO Den Haag will expire in the summer was close to linking up with Benfica during the winter transfer window after successful talks between the Portuguese giants and his club ADO Den Haag.

”It’s my choice,” Ebuehi who feat for Nigeria in the friendly win against two-time world champions Argentina last November stated in an interview with m.update.nl .

“For me, the most important thing is to keep making minutes. Going to such a club means a new adventure and you do not know whether you’re going to make minutes.

“Here, I get trust from the club, the trainer and the players. If I keep playing here, I can hopefully go to the World Cup and nice things can come.”

The young defender also spoke at the prospect of making Nigeria’s 23-man squad to World Cup in Russia

“I do not have to think about it too much otherwise it can also be a disappointment, I feel good about it, and of course I dream about it, it’s close and in terms of football, the World Cup is the biggest stage in the world,” he added.
“If I’m selected, it will be a dream come true, maybe the biggest one. “

The 22-year-old also gave a hint on his future as he is set to become a free agent in the summer.
“You never know in football. Maybe I’ll be here next season, but in the end I want to keep making personal steps and achieve the highest possible achievements, I keep all options open at the moment.”

Best player by running around like headless chicken. i have never fancied his style of play. His tackles are too rough and he won't be forgiven during world cup. Now we have a tackling machine in Ñdidi, all we need is someone to sit deep and keep it simple with neat passes and let Ndidi do the fighting and running. My proposed line up for the world cup in a 4-3-3 formation
GK:Francis Uzoho
LCB: leon balogun
RCB: troost ekong
LB: brian idowu
RB: tyronne ebuehi
RCM: Wilfred ndidi
LCM: joel obi
CAM: john mikel obi
LW: Victor moses
RW: Alex iwobi
ST: ihenancho/Ighalo

Note my preference for two CMs Ndidi could sit deep sometimes while joel lays the passes and control play while mikel will be able to go forward. Mikel and joel can also inter switch

Some posters on here really amaze me. This is a world cup year, no need for needless criticism's. Our job is to rally around these players, not calling them names, like plastic leg, headless chicken etc. Our negativity no matter how minute has a way of permeating. Who ever our final 23 is we should rally round them and BELIEVE. Even if Its Okpotu that is our top striker in Russia.
