So today, I got my order.
Thanks to Noobody.
Been on nairaland for more than a decade, I’ve seen the good, bad and ugly in terms on e-commerce and other online based business.
I wanted to get a phone as a present to someone and decided to check the phone section and came across this thread.
I decided to try Xiaomi this time around but the big question was how do I go about it?
Lots of good reviews about some guys here but I wasn’t convinced.
I came across Modath recommendation Of Noobody, I just stick with that and contacted him immediately.
With just few lines of WhatsApp chats, everything was set rollin. That was 1st Feb , and today to my biggest surprise I got a call that I have a package from my local post office.
Thanks Modath
Thanks Noobody
And to all genuine young men out there , hustling based on trust and recommendations, pls continue , your hustle will soon pay.

However , there was a sad trend I learnt about recently about how Nigerian buyers truck the Chinese sellers into making false claim of not receiving their items. Thereby making the seller refund or resend the package.
Please for the good of everyone at long run, desist from dastardly act.
In the near future, most of these sellers will decline to ship to Nigeria. Just like the case with Argos, Amazon, EBay and other western brands during the early 2000s.

No don't get confused.

The reviewer said prior to his OTA update, the gaming performance was bad. But the update fixed it. He also said he hopes upcoming update will fix the ram issue.

But in case you didn't know, you can turn off miui optimization and some little tweaks in developer setting to get better ram management. Google this to get more info. That was what Gptech was trying to say.

You can also ask those who have used the phone for more than weeks to get a first-hand info about any query you have. One other thing is that Apps and battery optimizations take time to settle after each OTA update. I once updated more phone, did a factory reset and had amazing SOT for the first few weeks, only for severe battery draining to appear after about a month usage.

Don't worry wink when you get your phone, you go experience these things.

Please read the message below so we can understand each other better. Even when my phone comes, I'm not going to be tweaking, turning optimization off or whatever the case may be. If only be updating, that's about it.

Every tester should have a uniform standard.

He's not making videos for the "KNOW IT ALL" people, he's making videos for people who buy phones and use default settings or make very little changes to the settings. The lay man, as we like to call them. Believe it or not, MOST people buy and use phones without changing many settings. Brands also care more about these "ordinary" people than they do the hard core tweakers and MODifiers.

Hope ya see the big picture now.

Someone said reviewers don't help them decide what phone to get. I guess it's only marketers that help people decide.

P.S: This one is not jab o

Noted. For the good of all, we should just remain as transparent as possible. Was contemplating opening dispute with a seller for flashing a fake rom on a Meizu M6 note I picked up since around Thursday. Phone didn't show any other battery level apart from 50% and didn't last up to 20 mins when charged. Messaged seller for such a mess but up till now there is no response. Actually wanted to punish him /her in anger, but just decided to take my time and about 2 gig of data to flash the official rom. Your post just made me totally erase any possibility of dispute with the seller. Don't want to be a source of obstacle to anyone including myself in future, but some sellers can push you to the wall.

Redmi 5 plus real users dey dis thread, dey can giv us there real reviews, reviewer never showed us proof of any form of bad ram management,he only made mention of it,
He shld av at least showed us apps crashing after 1 min of opening such apps,

Well what do i know, mayb bad ram managment means sometin else to d reviewer,

Even the reviewer,in d end of the video, recommended the fone as a very good buy.

NB: i do not wish to be quoted so another round of argument can start,
I only spoke my mind,i used a redmi 5 plus as a daily driver and never experience any form of bad ram management,
So keyboard gangsters,kindly take note,
Cheers

Good thought of you. Although , you’ve got a genuine reason to demand for a dispute.

As with all orders, the best is to take your mind off it. I know it's easier said than done but it's just the best.

It's sad when some of us abuse the dispute process just because we can especially those using small packet plus. It's very unfair.

I felt bad when a seller refused to collect back his money when I wanted to refund. The item took almost two months. (small packet plus shipping method).

I was forced to order more things from the store. Still my conscience is still not clear embarassed

Please we should try as much as possible not to open unnecessary dispute especially for those small packet plus items.

But some sellers are too stubborn that you don't have an option than to open a dispute.. grin ask noobody
