Top Five Reasons why God Didn't Create The Universe by Cute9gerian: 8:59am On Feb 19, 2018 |
1."The six days creation" Firstly the world was not created in 6 days. It just didn't happen that way. But - you say - to God a day is like 1000 years. Well - come on! If God is omnipotent and he's writing a book for people to read and understand - don't you think that God knows how long a day is? I mean - doesn't one have to assume that God isn't stupid? So - even if a day is 1000 years that takes the age of the universe up to what? 12,000 years? Where did the other 15 billion years go? We are seeing stars and galactic clusters out there that are 10 billion light years away. That means that what we are seeing came from stars 10 billion years ago. That's how long the light takes to get here. if the universe were merely 12,000 years old, we couldn't see any stars that were more than 12,000 light years away. That would be less that 100th of our own galaxy and we would never see any other galaxies because the next closest galaxy is 2.2 million light years from here. The Bible is wrong. End of story. But - you might say - maybe God just created the light in transit to make it look like there were stars out there older than 12,000 years to fool all those scientists with no faith. Well - besides the conclusion that God must hate smart people - if God did something to mislead people - if God created light to fake the age of stars - doesn't that make God a liar? Are you calling God a liar? 2.The Creation of the Sun According to the writers of Genesis, God created the Sun half way through the creation week. They also explain what God did during the first "days". But without a sun, there were no actual days. Without a sun to rotate around there were no "mornings" or changes in the time of day. Likewise, without natural sunlight, plants could not have grown and survived. Plants were created, however, before the Sun. If the length of time is billions of years per day, then it is very much impossible that plants could survive before the Sun was created. “The Genesis writers didn't understand the nature of darkness either. He said that God created light (somehow before the sun and stars were made) and then "divided the light from the darkness" (1:3-4). Light, however, is not something that can be separated from darkness. Light is an electromagnetic radiation from an energy source like the sun or stars, and darkness is merely the absence of light. Without light, there will automatically be darkness. No god is needed to separate or divide light from darkness. We know that today; the prescientific Genesis writers didn't.” We know, and would assume, that the writers of Genesis clearly did not know that the Earth revolves around the sun, that days and nights are effects of the Earth's spin, that light is electromagnetic radiation, and that darkness is the absence of light. Whoever wrote the text of Genesis were clearly fallible, pre-scientific Human beings. If God had inspired these texts, although it could not have inspired a technical liturgy because the words did not yet exist, it surely would have dictated or inspired text that wasn't out and out erroneous. 3.The Day of Rest: Is God Really All-Powerful? “Why would an infinitely powerful God even need six days? Wouldn't he have the ability to create everything in an instant? And, why would he have to rest when he was all done?” "God, the Failed Hypothesis: How Science Shows That God Does Not Exist" by Prof. Victor J. Stenger (2007)5 Book Cover The seventh day is a sign of the mythical assumptions of those who wrote the Genesis account. God is omnipotent and omniscient. Yet, it took the seventh day resting? And working out if its creation was good? It is not true that an omnipotent (all-powerful) being ever needs to rest. It is also untrue that an omniscient (all-knowing) being ever needs to wonder, ponder or think: It simply knows, and instantly. So, we immediately arrive at the conclusion that the seventh day is allegorical, symbolic and mythical, based on human imagination, and not on divine truth. 4. Unintelligent Design Taken from: "Evolution and the Unintelligent Design of Life: Inherited Traits, Genetic Dysfunction and Artificial Life: 8. Conclusion: Unintelligent Design" by Vexen Crabtree (2007) Genetic diseases afflict not only mankind, but also all other animal species, and all other forms of life down to the simplest bacteria and harmless single-cell lifeforms floating in the oceans. In all these species and in plants there are seemingly endless cases of genetic flaws and problems. Perhaps the best indicator of how badly life is 'designed' is the stark reality that 99% of all species have gone extinct. The food chain requires that nearly every living being survives by killing other creatures to eat for food, and species naturally expand to use up all local resources, limiting the success of other species. Everywhere in nature, predator-and-prey chains are central to life. This isn't a design for life, but a design of strife and violence. The genetic defects of nature, and the violence and strife of the natural world, indicate that life was not designed by a good-natured creator god but maybe by an evil one. My favourite phrase to describe all of this waste and bad design is one I picked up from Paul Kurtz in the Skeptical Inquirer: “The existence of vestigial organs in many species, including the human species, is hardly evidence for design; for they have no discernable function. And the extinction of millions of species on the planet is perhaps evidence for unintelligent design.” Paul Kurtz 5. Conclusion The seven day creation is not literal, there are illogical and unscientific errors that would not have been apparent to the authors but which are highlighted on this page and by science. The shape of the Earth is not flat. The Sun does not revolve around the Earth. The creation of light and the sun happened independent of each other, and there were 'days' before the sun was created for the Earth to rotate around. The order in which animals, plants and other elements of life appear in Genesis contradict the order that appears in the fossil record and the order of creation of the stars, the sun, etc, also contradict what we know scientifically. The logic is flawed behind the 'day of rest', an all-powerful God does not need rest. In short, the separation of creation into a seven day period is a useless and outdated creation story riddled with errors. Such beliefs, now called creationism and fundamentalism, have set us back as a species through the (often violent) suppression of basic science. Genesis was written by fallible Human beings, not God, and is proven to be a false record of creation. It also shows many symptoms of being a piecemeal, fragmented myth that has been edited and rewritten over time so that it hardly even makes internal sense. It contains no moral teachings and nothing educational. It is an irredeemable anachronism that we ever teach our children its pointless myths. It should be purged and forgotten. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Cute9gerian: Its unfortunate that the atheism of too many of you is built on lack of precise knowledge. What Genesis 1 primarily dealt with and described is the creation of the earth. Not universe. Genesis 1:1-2 [1]In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. [2]And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep... Talking about light years, see Genesis 1:3-5 [3]And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. [4]And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. [5]And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. Common sense reveals that days had not started UNTIL light arrived earth. Whether or not it is billions of years doesn't count here, since there were no such thing as days, years, centuries until verse 5, when day was first invented. So, between Genesis 2-4 could have been trillion of years. … when the first set of light arrived earth. Separation of day from night as shown in verse 4 CLEARLY connotes the structuring of day and night. Only fools will allow themselves to be confused by this lucid expression. You must know that the Bible is designed to be studied and not read like a mere contemporary literature.
Understandably, this may be too difficult for your brain. Revelation 21:23 [23]And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. The sun is just a mere physical creation that reveals the light of God. That source of the stars, the life of the plants is this light. As shown by the bolded, light Himself is the lamb, Jesus. He is the source of the sun. He is the light that existed before the sun was made. Elsewhere, John 1:4-5 [4]In him was life; and the life was the light of men. [5]And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. John 8:12 [12]Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. No doubt, He is the electromagnetic radiation that you are looking for. But, you may find this hard to grasp because your brain is only confined to time, space and matter.
. Funny how atheists pick on the most inconsequential of the limitation of their understanding to pose a foundation for their deluded comfort zone. The word Rest as used in Genesis 1 (verse 2 and 3) is shâbath from where they got sabbath from. IT PRIMARILY MEANS CEASE . In other words, God ceased from His creation of heaven and earth. He had finished it! Boy!
See, God created the earth perfect. Genesis 1:31 [31]And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. Man spoiled things. Romans 5:12 [12] Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: From the above, it is clear that death came into the world (for both living and non living creatures) because man (who was the sole authority) sinned and spoiled things. Hence, all you see as unintelligent design, from deceases to the likes are from man. The Bible is vindicated on that regards. Except you'll delude yourself further. As for the last paragraph, "The existence of vestigial organs in many species, including the human species, is hardly evidence for design; for they have no discernable function ". It is so stupid that an atheist base such a belief on the limitation of his discernment without any incontrovertible proof of the redundance of the organ in question. As for the extinction of animals, it really doesn't make any noteworthy point as God is not the one living on earth. He only created them and committed them to man as caretaker. Its not easy to be foolish though.
The Bible answers on the structuring of creation. It may not be written with a scientific purpose or laced with scientific jargons, but contains answers that suffices for providing answers where science is limited. For a book written before the birth of science to provide certain scientifically accurate answers as to how man is made from dust and decays into dust, how that there are billions of species of birds, animals and fishes, how that there are waters in the firmaments and on earth and evaporation takes place, etc, it shows that it should be considered. Why don't you tackle the writings of Hinduism, Buddhism, African traditionalism and the likes, they are simply not as accurate as the Bible. You don't consider debating their stances. Yet, you engage in rational rigour to fault the Bible without success. That goes to show how much insecure you are, trying to give yourselves strong basis to encourage your delusion. The Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, contains the Truth when correctly interpreted. 5 Likes 3 Shares |

superhumanist: Exactly! You are right. God's Word is Energy. It can't be created. That's why this happened. Genesis 1:3 [3]And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. Elsewhere, Hebrews 4:12 [12]For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. John 1:1-3 [1]In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [2]The same was in the beginning with God. [3]All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. It can't be destroyed too Isaiah 40:8 [8]The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever. Its sad when Atheists can't see these things. Sincerely. 2 Likes |

damosky12: The Bible contains little or no truth and it's so primitive and flawed, it teaches that the earth is flat, pillars hold the earth, the earth has four corners, the sun revolves around earth and so on, it is in no way scientifically important, it was written by primitive men who knew not where the sun went to at night and who believed that everything they couldn't explain in the world was magic. 3 Likes |

You are trying to convince yourself that the Bible has little to no truth and is flawed etc etc.... If you are sure about your opinions, then cease striving to prove yourself. The fact that you are trying so hard to prove the bible otherwise, means that you are struggling with (veracity of) your opinions. It's like me arguing with my 3 years old tyring to convince him/her that santa clause and easter bunny and tooth fairy does not exist and Dr. Seuss's and all fairly tale children's books are flawed, has no truth and written by men. Better yet, do you see the problem in trying to convince or argue with a grown adult man or woman that Father Christmas and all other fairy tales don't exist. Do you see the foolishness and absurdity of it all? That's what your threads are like--- trying to convince grown adults that Easter Bunny book aren't real. It's silly when you look at it that way isn't it? You look silly. Just stop already, yes? Get on with life already since you are convinced of your convictions. Cute9gerian: 2 Likes |

It's a good thing you are getting my point already, Jesus is just like adults Santa Claus just some people are smart enough to grow away from it where as some dwell and base their entire existence on it and mind you I'm only seeking to enlighten those that wish to be enlightened,if you are troubled by my post from which I can see clearly, you can simply pass by rather than show your insecurities in your utterance relying solely on tantrums to make irrelevant points. Denominations are borne out of peripheral issues. The central message of the scripture remains a dogma that is fairly shared amongst various denominations- the deity of Christ, SIN/Salvation. If you read the bible in social/historical context and in its original language of Hebrew/Greek and Aramaic and in its entirely, you will find so called inconsistencies/contradictions dissolve. I have a feeling that you are a kid mindlessly sifting through articles written by other people in an attempt to convince yourself that God/Bible isn't true. Might I suggest that you seek God yourself and come to your own conclusions sans other noises. Good luck. kevoh: |

Xiadnat:No contradictions in the Bible? How many women visited Jesus tomb? Matthew says that two people named Mary were there: Mary Magdalene and “the other Mary.” Mark lists Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James (Joses), and Salome. Luke Lists “the women who had come with him,” including Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and “other women with them.” John mentions only Mary Magdalene. So the resolution is quite simple. |

Cute9gerian: Did you just say "read the big bang"? Dude you know nothing but fail to realise that you know nothing. Your precious scientists have no idea how the universe began and are only speculating. However about 70 to 80 years ago science claimed that the universe has no beginning. Over 3000 years ago the bible recorded that the universe has a beginning. It says in Genesis (IN THE BEGINNING GOD CREATED THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH...) today science agrees that the universe had a beginning. The Bible has been right for over 3000 years and science just got this memo recently and you want me to believe science who just found out and disbelieve the bible which was correct all along for over 3000 years? You must be having an illusion. 1 Like 1 Share

Cute9gerian: Let me help your ignorance. Science when speculating with the big bang said dark energy matter / quantum fluctuations caused the Big Bang which was the beginning of the universe. The Bible says God spoke and the universe began. You mentioned that we should read evolution? You mean the same evolution which has not been able to find any missing links to the cartoon illustrations for evolution but have been parading theory with no evidence? Indeed you are ignorant. Watch this scientific video about data from NASA and see how science confirms the very Bible you say is flawed. I hope you can understand scientific language because if you cannot, then kindly do not watch the video and continue in your ignorance. Note: the video is just 5 minutes long in case you are patching your data. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eQVm8RokoBA 1 Like |

Recently, Michio Kaku, theoretical physicist at the City College of New York and known as one of the developers of the revolutionary String Theory that describes how all particles are actually vibrating strings, and how these strings propagate through space and interact with each other, found evidence of a Higher Being, which he described as the action of a force “that governs everything”. Cute9gerian: Your own delusion is from this childish cliché. Whether the women that came to Jesus' tomb were two, three or more, how does that affect the singular general agreement that women came to the tomb didn't meet the body of Jesus. How does that eliminate the fact that Jesus died by crucifixion? How does that contradict the fact that Jesus appeared to his disciples after resurrection. How does that abuse the fact that His disciples boldly preached His resurrection afterwards? What you call a contradiction goes to show that the writers wrote from different sources. 1 Like |
