Titing is not compulsory For me i think the church has lost focus, there are just two major things God demands: believe in Christ and allow the spirit to work all in faith Now we focus on trash, everyone is trying to judge each others action - If you don't pay tithe the selfrighteous Christian believes you've committed a great crime If you do pay, there is freeze to call u sheeple So Christians purposefully occupy the office of Satan in heaven which is (accuser of brethren) giving the guy less work. Find a way to thank God for what he has given you: could be daily, could be yearly, could even be 10percent, could be to the helpless, could be to support your church missionary movement but do all with a true heart of gratitude. Let the church move on from all these to advancing the kingdom TOGETHER. 1 Like |

Bakare can only speak for his church. Tithing might be optional in latter rain, but in other churches that truely belong to God, it's not negotiable. We'll continue paying it and there is nothing you can do about it. 1 Like |

ceomike: Pastor Tunde Bakare is simply being mischievious. Saying "tithing is not compulsory" is designed to be misleading and it is a lie since it does not take into cognisance the position of the Bible. According to the Bible there is no place for tithing in Christianity (in Judaism, yes!, but not in Christianity). The New Covenant has outlawed tithing. In essence what Pastor Tunde Bakare is saying is that if a church member brings tithe to him he will collect it, and if she does not, he will not feel bad. That's just bad that as a minister he too is talking from both sides of his mouth like they all do. The opinion of the Bible is what matters, not what the Bakares of this world think. 3 Likes |

There are just two questions here Does latter rain church take Tithes or not? If latter rain takes tithes then the next question is how is it more compulsory to pay tithe in rccg, winners, christ embassy than it is in latter rain? In this era where churches in Nigeria are being bashed for collecting tithes which is a type of offering, it is easier to point fingers that some people are the problems. But me us search our hearts and be truthful and logical in all our conversations. Now I don't know what people regard as constituting compulsion in regards to Tithing but I would say that most churches encourage or urge tithing rather than compel it. |

bizme:Give me the direct verse and scripture where it says Tithing has been outlawed. Don't bother trying to conjure non relevant scriptures, if you can show me right now any verse whatsoever where it says we should not tithe I would belief you and drop my belief of Tithing forever. As you said, the Bible's opinion is all that matters, yet all MENTIONS of the Word Tithing in the bible from Genesis to Revelation has been in favour of paying it. No need for any unnecessary argument, just show me One single verse from any part of the bible, either in Old Testament or New Testament which says not to Tithe. |

If you don't know any part of the bible that outlawed tithing or if you don't understand what the bible says about tithe as it relates to the old testament and the new testament then your whole life as a Christian all these years is a complete waste. |

If it is not compulsory it is not tithing but willful giving. The bible made it clear that tithing is compulsory so i don't know what this man is talking |
