I guess it will help those who want to study or migrate to Germany still.
Thanks smiley

You raised a valid point but you counter it yourself.
Lets pick the point one by one.

1) I said semester ticket is free...you said its subsidized......let me use a state like Northrine westfalia as example.... a monthly ticket for non student that covers dortmund to dusseldorf alone is 220 euro.multiply it by 6 month =1320 euro

Compare it to a student who pay 280 euro as semester fees....the semeste semester, takes you the whole of the state, this ticket also takes you to holland and belgium free for six month.....can you compare 1320 to 280?

2) You said not all school are free....what are expecting? You want private university to br free...in my ealier post I.mention only govt universities...the only exception is baden wurttemburg( 1 states out of 16).

3) You talk about rascism: please sir are you new on this platform? Cant you see ipob and yoruba e-warriors on nairaland? Rascim is everywhere bro...how you respond/react to it is what matters. Even UK policy of brexit, cancelling of post study visa is rascist and anti immigrant.

You lived here for 19 years says alot about the country.
If its bad am sure you would have port away.

Like I said, currently in the presently in the western world, German student visa is the easiest, immigrant friendly and economically best choice for average Nigerian.

Danke.

Which is why I wrote the above article. I have studied the situation, and as a follower of British politics, I know it'd be hard to reside in the UK after one's studies. Then again, it is their country and they have the right to do whatever they desire. They don't want lots of migrants esp from "shithole" countries, so? The politicians have do the what they said. The only way things can be changed is if Jeremy Corbyn becomes PM. But then, I doubt the British business industry (CBI) would want a commie in power.

In the end, better Germany than UK, better Japan than both!

japanese language barrier (the official hardest language in the world) is your biggest barrier

Hi Bro.

I'd like to believe there are conditions to qualify and getting that free education?

I don't want to believe it's an opportunity that is available to any immigrant who can just come into the country.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Good question! yes its not completely free as people push it here.

You have to deposit 8,700 euros in blocked account in German bank as part of financial requirement.

No condition attached.

From kindargarten to Ph.D level is absolutely free in German universities...except in private Univerities like SRH berlin and Jacob university in Bremen etc.

Also the state of baden wurttemburg introduce 1500 euro per semester last year.

All other univeristies are free and no condition is attached.

My brother I wonder o. Nobody owes us anything. We've had nearly 60 years to get our house in order but we didn't. I remember the days when we had some Pakistani foreign students who rented a flat in our street. They came from Pakistan to 9ja to study. If we decided to retrogress, na our wahala.
I have been telling people for about ten years to only come to UK to study and return home. There were already signs things would get tougher then.
If UK could vote to leave EU primarily to avoid EU migrants (about 95% are their fellow Caucasians), why do you think they send any darkie any message? shocked shocked

I tire oh
Even in UK, the English look at the Scots and Welsh somehow, then you from Nigeria in Africa will now get special treatment...lol

Only doctors gets jobs, and these doctors must have work experience. What we are talking about is the ability for graduates to get jobs without expertise.

You are working in the UK because you are in the med field and have gathered work experience to label you an expert but Did you school in the UK? That’s the point. Our grievance is because we spend so much on the tuition and then don’t get anything in return.

But you did get something in return - you got a degree. Even in near-by Ghana, international students pay way more than locals.

Yes and you have monthly insurance to pay as well and if you are over 30yrs of age then your insurance rate is higher.

To survive in Germany you have to learn the language.

So in total this is not free.

I agree with you broh. My journey to the UK as a medical doctor is only as an easy outlet from Nigeria. I surely wouldn't be there more than a year or two cos I only need the work experience there which would give me an edge when I finally port to Canada or NZ.

Like I said, go to other countries that value your hard earned money & will give you opportunities after graduation.

Thank you ooo my brother. Glad there's still many people like you in Naij.
I don't know what shacks people about UK I fucking hate those greedy Brits(keep in mind this same selfishness is causing them to leave the EU (Brexit))

Y'all would pay about 200,000 pounds and get chased out the moment you graduate. God forbid me from such blindness.

And your point about going to better places is even more impressive. I live and study in Germany all you need is about 10,000 euros for your entire study( yes the complete 4 years).
And keep also in mind that this cash is not for tutiton(no tuition in Germany)but for rent, transportation and feeding. The German government would ask for this amount cause they've helped you calculate how much you'll need to stay there and if you're hardworking or even just a little brilliant talk less of being a Genius, they won't even let you go back to Nigeria, they'll almost kill you with job offers grin. But for the UK you'll pay 4x your entire German fee per year.
God forbid undecided

What kind of funny write up is this?
I won't join those hailing you for this.
The UK has one of the best educational systems in the world.
You are going to school to acquire knowledge, and nothing else. If your aim is to immigrate under the guise of education, then thats a decision heading for failure.
Other places do need more immigrants like Canada, US. They have enough landmass as it is, and probably need the skills.
Most professional fields in the UK are oversaturated except for the health sector.
You are getting quality for the millions you spend on your education. Their deal with you was to impart knowledge which they have done. Why then do you believe they owe you to make you continue staying back in their country?
If that was you goal, you should have chosen Canada or US

I strongly agree with Trump that Nigeria is a shithole.

It's only in Nigeria that snakes & monkeys have the guts to steal money, the level of corruption have reached the extent of lying for animals to cover up their atrocities. Now tell me how a reasonable person will see a Nigerian as a human being despite all these things, although some Nigerians in the diaspora are making waves anyway.

Gbam!!! You just nailed it. Imagine a tiny space as UK where everyone wants to populate... If the UK was your house and you got everyone in a rush trying to come in where you have less space, won't you impose strict immigration laws? The country/region is theirs, whatever they like they will do with it, whoever they want to stay behind and wishes to stay behind will stay.
Well said bra...

We(Nigerian) would do the same thing if Nigeria was a developed country.

I don't blame the UK.

Japan bawo! Firstly, the language is a barrier. Secondly, Japan hardly accept skilled workers because, most of her citizens have those skills. The only way way they can accept you as a migrant is, you must undergo an internship training. Lastly, Japan is developed but their economy is not growing for more than a decade.

Broh I don't think this calls for insults, his thread was more or less specific for students and general employment opportunities. We know that the NHS is experiencing acute shortage of personnel and so health workers have it easier accessing jobs in the UK (although the Tier 2 visa is another headache entirely).
I think it would have been better to laugh it off and move, since as a professional, you know better about your field.

Why the fvck are Nigerians always fixated on migration?!! Always taking the easy way out. I always see Naija Twitter "intellectuals" advice youths to leave while they can. Foreigners see this too, and no one is ever going to respect you if you think mass migration is a solution.

Why not focus on a lasting solution: saving the soul of your country by calling for constitutional changes, building strong institutions etc?

I don't get how people can feel comfortable developing another country at the expense of yours. Sub Saharan Africans just don't get global politics. The leaders in Western countries know exactly what they're doing: selectively taking in the above average and positive outliers --- those with usefull skills, the smartest or the socioeconomically advantaged and their looted wealth --- for their own development. This is harmful to smaller nations since they are left with a bit more shitty people and less wealth on average. Also, the numbers are well controlled because they understand the effect of culture on institutions. There're many reasons why sh!tholes are what they are, but culture is a big part of it!

It's okay to study and live outside Africa, but at least consider making positive contributions to your country for the sake of your future generations and the dignity of your people.

Sorry to burst your bubble but if the "best of the best" were encouraged and employed in Nigeria and not punished for choosing education over music or sports, then no one would migrate.
The developed countries take the best in for their own development and the best get employed in these developed counties... It's a win win for everyone

Why would a capable person waste his talents in Nigeria, when he can go to the US or Europe and become an employed hard worker?

Get ready to do odd jobs in Canada for a minimum of 2years and save some money to pay shrinks when depression starts setting in. Canada is the most difficult English speaking first world country for a Naija doctor to migrate to. PR will be given to you but odd jobs await you on arrival.

Don't be fooled, do some research into how many migrant doctors who have completed the very expensive MCCEE, MCCQE1, MCCQE2, USMLEs and the rest are waiting to get the least medical job available in the remotest part of Canada and you'd be amazed. Your UK work experience is also not respected in Canada, it used to be recognised in Aussie & NZ, definitely not Canada. Do your research well bro before embarking on a fantasy journey to Canada.
