Exciton: It's a terrible thing. But I actually wish there will be mass migration, let them cut all ties with the country and leave it for us who love it, we shall build the nation and make it great again. Besides, the more people migrate the more opportunities and jobs are left behind for those of us who remain. I think Nigeria is over populated so let them go. Life is not easy out there as they think but they will only realize it when they taste it 1 Like |

Bro? Paint me a picture. As an example : A Nigerian in Nigeria, will fly to Germany under what visa? ( Student visa?) And enrol for a free education in Germany? And all you need is €8700? I know I can Google this, but it's better hearing from someone who's undergone the process. Berliner1: |

saouri:This is the same with Australia, Canada, US, Germany e.t.c When you study a STEM field, you would be in demand and getting residency would not be very difficult. But if you study bus admin, social science, art e.t.c. Na OYO be your name o, even in the countries mentioned in my first sentence. Even in Canada, it's tough for home students to get jobs in non-stem courses, how much more international students. 2 Likes |

Bagehot: One million likes. This sense of entitlement is mind boggling. The people who owe us but have ruined our collective future (our rulers and 'leaders'), we allow to get away and do as they please, with only half-hearted murmurs at best. You pay for an education, you get an education. A damn good one too. Or is nobody interested in the quality of education anymore? People go to the UK to study for other reasons, not just for immigration. The British are doing what is best for their country. We have allowed ours to be dumped in the toilet. Get your British degree and move on to another country if you don't want to return home. 10 Likes |

Am guessing you didn't utilise your opportunity properly if ever you went to university here and worked here. Masters brought me to UK. Now am married to the most beautiful British Born Yoruba babe with 3 kids, combined take home pay every month after tax is £5,300! Bought our council house on mortgage, bought a land in Kubwa Abuja also, everything crispy and all Glory to God almighty.. So if you ever have another opportunity, make good use of it saouri: 8 Likes |

Gerrard59:I am even a tri-lingual. Do you think most Nigerians have that time to learn another language especially, Japanese language which is the most difficult language in the world. Even though they offer courses in Englih. Though, thet offer scholarships to Nigerians and other nations. As i have said before, you can be accepted with your skills but it is via internship. A non-Japanese wages/salary isn't the same with a Japanese citizens despite working in the same field. 2 Likes |

saouri:You are so so right. They are so full of shits and I don't have them to blame.. I've been traveling to uk on vacation never overstayed and I shopped alot there...after expiration of 5yrs..and decided to apply for 10 yrs since 5yrs is $800 and is cheaper to apply for10yrs. I applied for 10years after providing necessary documents ..all my documents were correct and I answered their questions truthfully. I was denied..for no reason and I can't appeal.. After paying $1,074 is that not a total rip off!! Like I said I dont have them to blame ..I blame our corrupt leaders they care less because they use diplomatic passport 5 Likes |

lifedynamics: I see you only focused on the 3rd paragraph. My post isn't against migration, it's against mass migration and the burgeoning idea among young Africans that migration is a lasting solution. Of course there's nothing wrong with moving to places where your talents are appreciated. As long as one takes effort to ensure that he/she passes on skills and knowledge to the next generation of Nigerians. 1 Like |

Saladin25: Firstly, if so then, they should not emigrate na. Secondly, this is dependent on the sector. But as a professional (IT, finance, medical docs etc), you earn same as the Japanese. I forgot to tell you that the economy has been growing (approx. 2-4% quarterly). Apart from the US, which developed nation is growing that fast with employers complaining of labour shortages? 1 Like |

Dear saouri I think you're missing a very vital point. The UK Offered admission NOT employment. If you want to work look for other alternatives, they should raise their unemployment rate because of you. They didn't invite you. Or you want them to relax the laws at the detriment of their citizens? We complain how the "whites" take over our jobs in Nigeria. We should be like the UK if we want to grow. And an international teacher is expected to pass TOEFL to teach in Nigeria, while a Nigerian just needs a credit in Nigeria to teach. You get my point? 8 Likes 2 Shares |

EsotericMonk. UK, Ireland and NZ. Best option so far. Infact.. I had advice any Doctor leaving Nigeria should aim for UK first, then while in UK register in Ireland. (Should Immigration Policy Change) If you are not satisfied with the first two then you can start looking at NZ. Plab 1 and 2 will get you license in UK. UK experience is recognised in NZ. Plab 1 will exempt you from Ireland PRES 2, All you need to sit is PRES 3 Clinical exam to obtain a license. Plab 1 will qualify you to sit Nzrex clinical exam. Canada is a no no. Even after passing exam. You will be wasting away. PR or no PR To the topic: UK is not a friendly place for students or immigrants at the moment. If they can get rid of EU, don't know why Nigerians still worry about a place not welcoming. Unless you are totally uneducated, wear Hijab, can't speak English and would need interpreter. Then you can be rest assured your stay is guaranteed. Coming from war torn country is a bonus. Even children of age 7 and above, who were born there, have lived there all their lives and have no ties to their parents country of origin still stand a chance to be removed if their parents have no legal status. That's how brutal it is at the moment. Hopefully with time, they will have a well structured immigration system that is fair to everyone regardless of race, religion, or country of origin. N. B. I won't be responding to any mention if your reasoning is lopsided or myopic. 4 Likes |
