RabbiDoracle: In line with expectation. After you posted the above, I went to check the numbers and the performance over the years. Q2 seem to always be their strongest in term of performance. They also have a good dividend policy. I never buy finish o as I still dey look for money to buy more |

currentprice: On numbers, UPL is better but the problem is that it is very difficult to make a projection on what the final eps will be just as oga wanaj0 pointed out. I entered the stock last year with small money and I was injured. My eyes are still on the stock thought. |

Agbalowomeri: UCap was a spinoff from UBA. You need to know how much he bought his UBA shares. Also his average price for NEM is below 50k but NEM never sold below 50k. Wanaj0 patience on stocks is something else. |

wanaj0:Even if he has no concerns for the nation's economic health, he will at least have to model his operations in such a way that we have an incentive getting our refined products from him. One core fact is that his primary target market is Nigeria. But from what I know about him, crude will be sourced competitively from the international market. The portion that comes from Nigeria will be purchased in Naira, others will be billed in USD. Same goes for sales. Sales to the local market will be in the local currency. exports proceeds will be greenbacks. Imagine dollar at 280 vs 360, his group revenues would have been about $5.4bn vs 4.2, and Forbes would have added close to $4bn to his networth. |

Just got an unconfirmed Info that the coperate governance index (also known as CG INDEX) of the Nigerian Stock Exchange have just added banking Stocks ACCESS BANK, UBA together with cement manufacturing coy LAFARGE WAPCO PLC to the NSE-PREMIUM BOARD. ...This should bring to 6 the total no of coys listed therein following the 1st of initial entrants of DANGOTE CEMENT, FIRST BANK AND ZENITH BANK. My take is that this could very likely lead to an increased buying pressure on the new additions by investors with interest in well governed coys. It might interest u to know that the NSE PREMIUM BOARD is assigned to companies with a good coperate governance rating by the Nigerian Stock Exchange. My take is that this is a healthy move for ACCESS, UBA and LAFARGE WAPCO especially the banking sector once it does materialize. |

Agbalowomeri: Heard GTB compliance is yet to be precessed. ...Pls note that this is still an unconfirmed Info. However chances of coming to fulfilment is high since my source is reliable. Btw, where is my ruggedprof? ...I recall advising him to be patient with ACCESS when I 1st heard some really good things about the coy. ...my ruggedprof I do hope ur still very much in the ACCESS LANE for soon u shall reap some good measure of reward. Same source keeps whispering sweet things about DANGOTE FLOUR. Mr TIME will surely put things in their right perspective sooner than later. #BELIEVE #ANDKEEPBELIEVING NOTE: This should not be interpreted to mean any kind of recommendation. ...DD always advised pls. |

awesomeJ: I seriously doubt Naija will sell crude to anyone in Naira. Even NNPC does not get crude in Naira. Dollar at N280 The state will not be able to pay salaries! Reduced Naira to meet Naira obligations. Even IF he gets paid in Naira, CBN will convert straight to dollars. Same with the oil companies. When NNPC give them Naira, CBN convert it to dollars for them. |

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by awesomeJ(m): 3:02am On Feb 27, 2018 |
IchimokuPilot:I used to think that it's things around capitalisation, and management decision that determines placement on that board. Like NSE has requirements for coys to list on each of its various boards. And the management of such coys would be the one who's decide which to list on having met the requirements. From NSE: Companies seeking admission to the NSE Premium Board are required to satisfy one set of Listing Standards (i.e. Standard A or B or C) for the NSE Main Board, as well as comply with the following: The company must meet the minimum market capitalization requirement of NGN200 billion on the date The Exchange receives its application (or at the time of listing – for new listings)The company must be evaluated under the NSE's Corporate Governance Rating System (CGRS) and achieve a minimum rating score of 70%The company must satisfy either:a minimum free float requirement of 20% of its issued share capital, ORthe value of its free float shares is equal to or above NGN40 billion on the date the Exchange receives its application to list. |

wanaj0: Keeping all other factors constant, shouldn't the landing cost reduce? I would think a sort of Swap deal might be involved. Give him predetermined quantity of crude at prevailing rate per barrel in return for a predetermined quantity of refined products. A margin is agreed which leaves him with residual crude stock for his fertilizer, refined products etc that could be exported. He could go over and above the agreed quantity of crude for his export business as he deems fit though. It doesn't really make sense buying dollars from govt to buy crude only for the same government to come and buy refined products with dollars. Abi no be so? 3 Likes |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by wanaj0: 8:56am On Feb 27, 2018 |
Manonamission: Crude swap can be done but it will be denominated in 'dollars' even if there is no exchange of cash. Dangote has interest in some oil fields so supply is more or less secured. Transaction will still be done in dollars. On landing cost, yes it should reduce BUT a lot has to do with pricing. The experience with cement should be a guide. Local production is yet to bring down the price of cement.! |
