How you know say I get NEM? Had to sell down to re balance my portfolio. Can't afford NEM to be 20% of my portfolio wink wink

I used your NEM as an example. Didn't mean to say you were still holding the stock.

LETS GO, THE GROWTH RECOVERY CONTINUES. NSE Oya naa...
The nation’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew in Q4 2017 by 1.92% (year-on-year) in real terms, maintaining its positive growth since the emergence of the economy from recession in Q2 2017. This growth is compared to a contraction of –1.73% recorded in Q4 2016 and a growth of 1.40% recorded in Q 2017.

Quarter on quarter, real GDP growth was 4.29%.

The year 2017 recorded a real annual growth rate of 0.83% higher by 2.42% than –1.58% recorded in 2016.

In the quarter under review, aggregate GDP stood at N31,209,137.74million in nominal terms higher when compared to N29,169,058.99 million in Q4 2016, resulting in a Nominal GDP growth of 6.99%. This growth is lower relative to growth recorded in Q4 2016 at 12.49%. Nominally, 2017 recorded an annual growth rate of 12.05% higher by 4.25% compared to 2016 annual growth of 7.80%. The broad classification into the oil and non-oil sectors will give a clearer depiction of the Nigerian economy

Crude swap can be done but it will be denominated in 'dollars' even if there is no exchange of cash.

Dangote has interest in some oil fields so supply is more or less secured. Transaction will still be done in dollars.

On landing cost, yes it should reduce BUT a lot has to do with pricing. The experience with cement should be a guide. Local production is yet to bring down the price of cement.!

The formula for transactions in Oil and gas industry is 60% Dollar and 40% Naira.

BeerBullMkt we have not heard from you in a while. I hope you are doing fine?

Oga Emma must be busy calculating prospective DY on his stocks.
Market is likely going to be in a 'sit down look' mood until most results are out. Then we can begin to pick from the pool of the best.

Have a great investing week.

Just got an unconfirmed Info that the coperate governance index (also known as CG INDEX) of the Nigerian Stock Exchange have just added banking Stocks ACCESS BANK, UBA together with cement manufacturing coy LAFARGE WAPCO PLC to the NSE-PREMIUM BOARD.
...This should bring to 6 the total no of coys listed therein following the 1st of initial entrants of DANGOTE CEMENT, FIRST BANK AND ZENITH BANK.
My take is that this could very likely lead to an increased buying pressure on the new additions by investors with interest in well governed coys.
It might interest u to know that the NSE PREMIUM BOARD is assigned to companies with a good coperate governance rating by the Nigerian Stock Exchange.

My take is that this is a healthy move for ACCESS, UBA and LAFARGE WAPCO especially the banking sector if it does materialize.

Thank you for the info. But do you(we) think this will have any real implication on the SP of the mentioned stocks?

Keeping all other factors constant, shouldn't the landing cost reduce?

I would think a sort of Swap deal might be involved. Give him predetermined quantity of crude at prevailing rate per barrel in return for a predetermined quantity of refined products. A margin is agreed which leaves him with residual crude stock for his fertilizer, refined products etc that could be exported. He could go over and above the agreed quantity of crude for his export business as he deems fit though.

It doesn't really make sense buying dollars from govt to buy crude only for the same government to come and buy refined products with dollars. Abi no be so?

...This is also my line of thought. ...a sort of swap deal would have to come in between.
However, Boss Wanajo is a commander-in-chief in this sector, so I presume he should know best.

That is the formula for CONTRACT as approved by NNPC. However, you can pay more than that. You only need to buy forex from CBN to pay!

The issue is that what goes up must come down, and when you have told the public once or twice, relax and let them digest your opinion. Continuing to say the same thing in all pages looks like you have ulterior motive.

I ask again, are you trapped?
