onegentleguy: Many stocks are fighting for their souls..... I peeped into the charts and was surprised that most stocks fighting hard and looking like we are at the bottom have VERY SCARY WEEKLY CHARTS (Apologies to Fxuser). I lost interest immediately as I will NEVER EVER argue with the charts again. I have been WOUNDINJURED (RabbiDoracle) too many times in my going against charts.... Those daily noises easily dissolve into the abyss of the weekly traps before you blink..... |

These offers on AfriPru is so unshakable. N3.80 won't be bad though. 3 Likes |

mendes911: Remember people bought at N2.5 to N3. So they will keep selling to quickly take profit even if it is N1 gain that they made. This is because they will be comparing withe dividend with their gains. 2 Likes |

sellydion: I kept wondering what people were waiting for. At such high prices, who dividend yield go help? Except those that had the shares since the time of spinoff. AfriPru and UCap has settled their passengers. Next will be GTBank and Zenith (Though Zenith might pull a stunt). |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Nobody: 3:02pm On Feb 27, 2018 |
Why do people cross deal when there are enough offers on the floor? NSE should place a ban on cross deals that can be bought on the floor . Those cross deals on DS would have taken it to full bid for the next few days |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by davide470(m): 3:24pm On Feb 27, 2018 |
rationalmind:Lol. Cross deals can only be done at either the highest bid / lowest offer at that point in time, and it is a one-off trade. For one-off trades, you only pay N4.20 for CSCS X-alert as against N4.20 * X (X meaning the number of executions at Mkt). Also, it is "more cleaner" especially when dealing with institutions/offshore investors. 1 Like |

mendes911: Let me explain. If I bought at N2.5, and the price is N4.7 now, I will need to sell (if I'm a short termer). Reason is because I'm comparing a gain of N2.20 with 40kob. So I will have to sell. You will need to stop selling until the price of the stock gets to N2.5 + 40 kobo= N2.90. Because if you sell, you will gain only 40kobo which is still the same as waiting for the 40kobo dividend. My point is that people will keep selling until equilibrium is reached and at that point, they have seen that selling for just 40 kobo gain is the same as waiting for 40kobo dividend. 2 Likes 1 Share |

davide470: Thanks for the explanation, it's just annoying seeing some activities on the bottom right corner of the screen without corresponding changes in the left Anyway, we keep waiting, time will prove either the seller or buyer to be correct as one oga here will say. |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by onegentleguy: 3:56pm On Feb 27, 2018 |
RabbiDoracle: My Oga there's no arguing the fact that this ur analysis makes for a sensible assumption. However, it does have the weakness of implying that the majority of players in the market are traders. ...that there are far more traders than investors. ...That to me, is a very dangerous assumption to make especially with a coy like AFPRUD. 'For the basis therein is slightly vitual'. But in any case, u are still my Boss !! 1 Like |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by awesomeJ(m): 3:56pm On Feb 27, 2018 |
RabbiDoracle:Given that its 52-week low is 2.20, and there's been a 57% growth in eps yoy, I think the stock can find a pretty strong support northwards of 3.00. People would make reference to this strong support rather than just their entry price. So it may not likely trade below 3.40 pre closure. |

Agbalowomeri: Did you gauge market mood towards end of trading today? I doubt reversal is tomorrow. Bears might even storm across board tomorrow. I have been wrong severally though. |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by onegentleguy: 4:37pm On Feb 27, 2018 |
Agbalowomeri: My predicted reversal range is btw N3.80 - 4.20. ...and so 2 days from now would be more like it for me. However, I could be inclined to agree with u. ...but on the condition that tomorrow it opens at a near 5% discount from todays close of N4.70, drops down by the same % margin during the intra-day trade but bounces back to close with a volume higher than that of today at no more than a 2.5% discount from todays close. ...But if these condition is not met, then my predicted range could well become a reality. ...Unless of course the mighty Mr TIME thinks otherwise. ; |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by onegentleguy: 4:45pm On Feb 27, 2018 |
PharmAlfred: Just got an unconfirmed Info that the coperate governance index (also known as CG INDEX) of the Nigerian Stock Exchange have just added banking Stocks ACCESS BANK, UBA plus cement manufacturing coy LAFARGE WAPCO PLC to the NSE-PREMIUM BOARD. ...This should bring to 6 the total no of coys listed therein following the 1st of initial entrants of DANGOTE CEMENT, FIRST BANK AND ZENITH BANK. My take is that this could very likely lead to an increased buying pressure on the new additions by investors with interest in well governed coys. It might interest u to know that the NSE PREMIUM BOARD is assigned to companies with a good coperate governance rating by the Nigerian Stock Exchange. My take is that this is a healthy move for ACCESS, UBA and LAFARGE WAPCO especially the banking sector once it does materialize. If u were referring to the post above, then worry not my dear. ...for its CONFIRMED. ...and shall be implemented soon. #BELIEVE |
