I really enjoy the Discourse between Tbaba1234 and Forgiveness, but in fairness Forgiveness had good Points than Tbaba1234. Point 1; In few Matches ain't the same with a Match. Maduka only featured in a non-competitive Game, hence that ain't a solid Point to rate him over Alampasu presently. Sir Tee can bring on more facts of Maduka's presence with the First Team to convince us. Point 2; training with the first Team regularly indicates you are a Professional, while frequenting with the U18 (Academy) Team simply means you are still a Rookie. Point 3; experience-wise Alampasu has more Exposure vis a vis Maduka. He has been on Loan, played at a FIFA Tournament, recognized as the best Keeper in an age-grade Tourney. Point 4; GK dept ain't like other Depts on the Pitch. The first Choice GK of the Argies is a Bench Warmer at United. He only plays once in a while in the Cup Games. Buffon, at his Age, is still keeping Szczesny on the Bench, hence Alampasu's Situation is professionally understandable. Finally; both Keepers - Alampasu and Maduka - can't be the first Choice for the Eagles at the Mundial, second Choice is even a Doubt, so what the Fuss?! Truth be told, Alampasu ain't mate with Maduka at the moment. Is he inactive at his Club? No...... coz he's training (getting drilled) with the first Team regularly. 2 Likes |

Oasis007: I disagree. Both keepers are rookies.. Alampasu has done nothing professionally. He is not at an age where he can be idle. Szczesny is an experienced keeper. If it is about training with the first team, both players train with the first team regularly. Also Maduka has had competitive caps for the B team of Fortuna. Alampasu only professional experience was in the division 3 in portugal which is not better than the level Maduka is playing in. There is a reason why young keepers are loaned out or at least playing reserve football. They need the practise, they need the experience. 9 Likes |

I'd like to add. I want Alampasu to succeed as much as the next person but an inexperienced keeper at his age should not be idle. This is the time to learn the ropes. 1 Like |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by forgiveness: 8:31am On Mar 01, 2018 |
tbaba1234: You mean Maduka Okoye has done something professional because he played only 3 games for team B that is in the FOURTH tier of German league but Alampasu who had played for the FIRST TEAM in a competitive match, played in the third tier of Portuguese-liga, was on the bench in second division and currently made the bench for the first team in portuguese-liga has Done nothing professionally according to you!? This is the biggest joke of the century. Oga, Alampasu is a confirmed professional hence is position as the 3rd chioce goalkeeper with a team in one of the best leagues. EOD. When Maduka Okoye reaches that level then you can come back with a point but for now he is an academy and amateur player. EOD. 4 Likes 1 Share |

darkelf:which attackers are you raising the bar higher for? And if they don't reach your bar, wetin go happen? There are 32 teams going to the world cup, do we start comparing our players performance to that of players from the 32 teams? Griezmann scored four goals, na today? Do we have any attackers of Griezmann's quality or experience? No. So, what are we comparing? Abeg, let them be playing actively where they are. How many goals did Iwobi score for Arsenal before sending two inside Argentina's net? How many games did Kelechi play before the Argentina game? Match situations are different. Griezmann can score four today and none for another four games. Make we dey face front and stop unnecessary comparison. 5 Likes |

tbaba1234: Sir Tee...... Alampasu is no longer a Rookie, he's a Professional and an official 3rd GK for a Portuguese Primeira League Club. The 2nd GK of the same Club has not played even for a second in the League this Season, rather he's featuring in the Cup Games. Alampasu is the youngest amongst the Trio, he's 21 and still learning the Game. Thus being part of the first Team ain't Moinmoin and as well a huge Advantage for him over Maduka. He's training with Men, not Kids. Perhaps Ahmed Musa should have kept honing his Skills at the Leicester U21 Team instead of his loan Move to CSKA Moscow Sir?! Or Iheanacho should have asked for playing Opportunities at the U21 Team instead of warming the Bench?! There is no way you can compare Training Sessions of the U18 Team with the first Team Sir. Alampasu is professionally getting drilled, while Maduka is academically getting drilled. 3 Likes |

tbaba1234: Alampasu professional experience has gone beyond division 3 in Portugal. He has played in FA cup version of portuguese-liga and with the Nigeria national team. GBAM. Now, that is better than only 3 games in division 4 in Germany and Amateur league in Germany. EOD |

Oasis007: I don't know why people come here and start raising the bar whenever it suits them and quickly reduce the bar whenever it doesn't favour them. The truth must be told. Alampasu is not in the same level with Maduka. EOD. Em! But I don't mind Maduka Okoye gets invitation and eventually capped one day because he might come good in the future. Na just the false assertions me no wan hear. And for those crying, I don't care if Alampasu makes the team to the world Cup neither do I care if Maduka Okoye makes the list for the world cup. 1 Like |

Certitude: Absolutely.....! I have been singing this song for a while now about who replaces mikel if he is to be subbed. Now some of us are suggesting we pair him with Joel Obi. Let us understand that in Nigerian football, once our midfield collapses, it usually is game over for us... We need to be working on dictating the pace of the game against opposition. Even if we cannot score so many goals, at least keep a lion share of the possession. Mind you, with the kind of attack we have, if they will not be profligate and wasteful in front of goal at the world cup, I dont think we should stress that much. Mikel Obi needs an able Replacement. And please nobody should mention Etebo! |

Certitude: the first ball he got he completely goofed it, that was when I started monitoring all his touches. Out of the first 10 passes he made(without pressure) he only completed 2, TWO! He was playing against Sevilla, the 5th best team in the league and he was more concerned with trying(unsuccessfully) to beat his man when the tactics was quite clearly to play off Ideye and ok, when he managed to cross nko? Simon Moses' crosses would have been a joy to behold |

Oasis007: Future future future, the future of Goalkeepers is not written that way at all. Deportivo is still going out of their way to purchase goalkeepers showing lack of faith in their feeder team, so in 5years Uzoho's best position at Deportivo might still be a second choice or third choice, and presently no team wants him, is that the future? Or is it Alampasu? Personally these guys have gone through the academies abroad, I would have adviced them to come to Africa, look for a good team, maybe even a nigerian side frequently in the CCL and pitch their tent there. I mean Enyeama started from the local scene, Aiyenugba too. If we go through the history books we would see a lot of nigerian Gks who at one point or the other were first choice Gks for feeder teams all over Europe but how many of them got as far as Enyeama? 1 Like |
