Causes of corruption:

Corruption is widespread in developing countries not because their people are different from people elsewhere but because conditions are ripe for it such as:

· Motivations to earn income is extremely strong due to:

· Poverty

· Low salaries (wages)

· High risk of all kinds ( illness, accidents and unemployment and lack of insurance)

· Opportunities to engage in corruption are numerous, more regulations lead to higher opportunities for corruption.

· Weak legislative and judicial systems

· Law and principles of ethics are poorly developed

· Political instability and weak political will

· Lack of good education.

· Lack of values

· Lack of satisfaction

Quranic verses Agaist Bribery & Corruption:

· And do not consume one another’s wealth unjustly or send it (in bribery) to the rulers in order that {they might aid} you to consume unlawful .Q2vs 188

· Verily; Allah commands that you should render back the trust to those to whom they are due; and that when you judge between men, you judge with justice. Verily, how excellent is the teaching which He {Allah} give you 1 truly, Allah is ever all – Hearer, All – Seer Q 4vs 58

· “O you who believe! Fulfill your obligation Q 5 vs 1

· “ O you who believe, be persistently standing firm for Allah, witnesses in justice, and do not let the hatred of people prevent you from being just. Be just, that is nearer to righteousness. And fear Allah; indeed Allah is acquainted with what you do. Q 5 vs 8

· Indeed, those who devour the property of orphans unjustly are only consuming into their bellies fire. And they will be burned in a blaze Q: 4vs 10

· When it is said to them: Make not mischief on earth, they say: “Why” we only want to make peace Q: 2 vs 11

· If a surety, they are the ones who make mischief, but they realize it not. Q: 2 vs 12

Hadith that warns Against Corruption.

· Ma’qil ibn Yassar (R.A) reported from the prophet (SAW) that paradise is forbidden for any person in authority who dies in such a state that he is dishonest in his dealings with those under his rule ( Authenticated by Al – Albani)

· Abu Dhar (R.A) narrated: I said to the prophet (SAW): O messenger of Allah, will you not appoint me to a public office: he (SAW) stroked my shoulder with his hand and said: “Abu Dharr, you are weak and authority is a trust. And on the Day of Judgment, it is a cause of humiliation and regret except for one who fulfills its obligations and properly discharges the duties (Muslim)

· Abu Humaid As – Sa’idi (R.A) reported that the prophet (SAW) said: “Gifts offered to public servants are ill – gotten gains (Ghulu) – Authenticated by Al- Albani

How corruption can be solved.

· The first tool is education

· Inculcating good values during childhood

· Changing in the system of government

· Increasing direct contact between the government and the governed.

· Making stringent laws for punishing the corrupt and blocking every way of escape

· Increasing transparency and paying more attention to professional accountability.

And the biggest one is the subsidizing of #hajj by our govt when people are findin it difficult to eat. So we need to speak against it by any means we can and whoever goes to hajj with this money has no hajj

Oh, there are verses against corruption in the Quran, what a miracle!
Same way there are verses against stealing and adultery and that hasn't stopped a
determined offender.

Verses can't stop or reduce crime, criminals don't think about one redundant
verse when they want to commit crimes. The only way to tackle corruption is
by punishing offenders and not some vague verse from a medieval period book.

And someone said buhari is corrupt, come with your proves. Also, someone one said anything Muslim touches dwindles, dangote is a living testimony. Prof. Akintola, registrar of jamb is another one. Custom boss is another one. Without any sentiment, Muslims are making remarkable success with various sector of Nigeria economy.
Just that in every family, there's always a black sheep. That's the case of abacha and d likes.....and just because someone bears a Muslim name doesn't mean he or she is a Muslim. E.g is apostle suliamon, tunde Bakare even tinubu. What re we now saying.
Everyone has the tendency to do good or bad irrespective of the religion or tribe. It's there turn today; when it's your turn make good use of the opportunity. One Nigeria, I crave.
